Had another omit... Linda...wanted to comment on your stories. They sound interesting and nice that you took what actually happened and threw it in. I am an avid reader and always have been. A few years ago (not sure why...just had an interest) I bought all of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and read them. Someday I plan on reading to my grandchildren some day. (One can always hope). Cheri...maybe you should try to get your stories published and you could make that a full time job and then you would have no employment issues. OK, NOW I am off to bed. Night all....I just cannot wait till the FL meet.

Where's our little Jewel today? Hope you are doing OK and just resting. Been thinking of you. Hey Deb...what size do you wear in that bra...PM me if you don't want to share it with the world. I have two that have been worn just a few times and then moved to a different size. They are 36D...a beige and a black one. Sorry you are blue. Hope you can shake it off soon. Julie...happy to hear you made it home safely. Still very blustery here. Looking forward to seeing at least to our corner tomorrow which is 1/4 mile away. Storms are great for one thing...getting things done. DH is MAJOR A.D.D. Very intelligent but has to be pulled back into projects...he tends to just drift away. He has never in his life used this disability as an excuse though. He just needs little reminders once in awhile that he has 20 things going at once and maybe just look at one and complete it. Boy, did I get off track...anyway, was explaining that I had his full attention and we completed all our paperwork we needed to. Also, got a lot of housework done. All in all, it was a great day. Heading to bed with my book. You all have a wonderful evening. Sleep tight...

Great...I use medium sized shrimp and scallops. As you could see, I used a roasting pan to make enough for the guys, so that was a double recipe. I make a sauce from 1/3 cream cheese, LF evaporated milk, parmesan grated fresh cheese, a little garlic, a little flour. All is cooked until becomes thick. I layer seafood/noodles/sauce and mozarella sliced or grated cheese. I had some rhubarb to us so I threw it in the pie. That's where that came from!

OK Girls...let's start placing our bets on who will live closest to Great if she moves. Great...Too bad you have to go through that with your GM and mother. Just hang in there and do what is right for your GM. She's the one that has to be taken care of. Another struggle for you when it comes to your mom. So sorry. That pie is multi-berry/rhubarb. Blueberries, Blackberries. It's gone. I didn't get any. But, the seafood lasagna was good...minus pasta. Still storming here. Worse than it was this morning. Let us know when you can tell us where you might live. Janet...thanks for posting that recipe. Have some company coming for dinner this weekend and might make it.

Laura...what brand of Protein Bar do you eat? DH and I eat them for breakfast and Snacks. DS also does a quick walk through of mom's pantry every once in awhile and fills up a gallon sized baggie with Protein Bars. He also has gotten into the habit of eating them for breakfast. He is not overweight but he noticed he put on 10lbs. Do you think it could have been the (2) Sausage, egg and cheese croussants he was consuming every morning on his way out here to work??????? 80% fat calories in those things. :smile2:

It would need to get quite a bit colder than -35 degrees windchill, Jack.:smile2:
-
Great...wherever you end up, you will be with DH and will adjust. I always say I would move in a minute (only reason being is that we are tied to this farm with no options to move. It would yank DH's world out from under him). The grass is always greener and I know this has been a huge decision for you guys. Ohhhhhh....come to FL. Quit that darned early morning job.

I sip on it all day long. I also take the packets of Swiss Miss with me and when I stop on the road for a coffee I use it and also SF syrup if the station has it.

Sent from MN, with love, just for you!

This post is meant to be between the Sheriff and myself... I am putting in a for a special dispensation to eat the inners out of the seafood lasagna and maybe a peice of pie. And, could you please issue that within the next 1 hour and 45 minutes. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Can anyone say "comfort food"? Thought I would share our 15lb seafood lasagna with you all. Believe it or not, the gang showed up today to work. Lasagna now in the oven and hopefully fully done by noon when they wander into the house. Had to go out to garage for something and there are actually snow drifts inside the closed door that blew in. :smile2:

Thanks for the offer, Judy. You'd have to make that a tray of food every hour and not sugar free. I am a "Lapband Freakazoid"...I hit maintenence and metabolism went crazy. At least 2500-3000 for me to maintain. :smile2:
-
OK...now compare on the patio door from yesterday afternoon till this morning about 8am. Notice the snowbank just outside the patio doors.:smile2:
-
Some of these photos were taken yesterday afternoon b/4 the storm hit. Notice (yesterday) the patio doors...no getting out those. And, this morning took photo out front window of our road. The pole you can barley see is less than 200 yds away. Notice...the pie...the reason obesity runs rampet in MN...boredom!:smile2:

Even 18 months out and in the maintenence mode, I still use my scale once in awhile. It is so good to get into the routine of using one and KNOWING what your portion sizes are. You will get to the point that you can "eye" portions and know. But in the beginning, it really helps. I purchased a Salter brand and love it. It was $59 at Herbergers but pretty sure you could find one for less online at Amazon, etc. Model #1440.

Janet....if you have time in the near future, would you please share your chicken cacciatore recipe? Thanks.
-
Laura...take it easy today and tomorrow. You will most likely be swollen and irritated for a couple of days from you "incident". I had a stuck episode a few months ago and was funky for about two weeks even though I had myself on soft foods only for that time period afterwards. I got stuck on well-chewed porkloin...it was like it just festered for 24 hours in my gut.
-
Judy...sitting here choking back tears for what you are going through. Take the time to grieve for your little one and take the time to enjoy the memories you have of her. I will be thinking of you. Make sure you rely on friends in the next few days...even if it's just a phone call. Come back and let us know how you are doing. We all understand. So sorry, Judy:crying:

Mornin Girls....Not going to talk about the weather today but just gotta say IT'S WICKED OUT THERE! JB and Laura, what the forecast is for the next six weeks down there? We were in the Ocala area (again this year) last year and it was unusually cold. Temps dropped to 27-29 a couple of those weeks we were there. We should get there sometime at the end of the month. Going to pack today. We have laundry facilities but really have to do some thinking on what to take for six weeks or more. I think layers. Have a lot of things like vests over hoodies over T shirts. Layers to strip down when it warms up during the day. Meredith..so sad about fiance's friends brother. Difficult to understand what can bring a person to that point. It's their way "out" and it leaves so many here on earth to wonder why. You gotta pack those sandals, suit and short sleeved shirts. You, Julie and I will be out by the pool soaking up the sun. Linda? any word on the nieces wedding yet? Still have hope that you will make it. What kind of children stories did you write, Linda? Cheri...happy to hear DH got his job. Sounds like he is ready for this life change. Gun in hand....ready to roll. Hmmm...not sure that I would want DH with a gun on some days around here....especially when I am in one of my little snits. LOL. What are the subjects in your children's books? Phyll...sounds like we both brought the New Year in a little fuzzy. I am a "one drink wonder". I slur and walk crooked on a weak one. You should have had a pancake and 2 dry sausages with your wine. Think it might have soaked some of it up. As long as you had fun and you were safe and not driving... Jessica...how you doing today? Hope you did not over do yesterday. It's good to be up and about and walking as much as you can though. Bet those full liquids will taste good today. Really would like to get a little bit organzied this week regarding the FL meet. Could each of you that are flying in PM me or email me your cell #'s so that I can get them in my travel notebook? Would also like for you to get your travel times to me so that we can coordinate rides from airport. When I receive them, I will email back with my cell and info. I think that I will recognize all of you at the airport. Really don't want to stand with a big cardboard sign... Better get after it. Pretty much housebound...wouldn't dare go out in these conditions today (even though DH has been out for a couple hours cleaning out bins). Organizing storerooms and packing for our trip are on the agenda for today. Also going to make a mixed berry pie for DH's pie tummy. You all have a good one. (I know I missed some of you, sorry)

We subscribe to the Mpls paper and for years and years and years (since I was maybe 11 or 12 yrs old) I have been doing the LA Times and NY Times crosswords each day of my life. If I don't, I feel like something is wrong.
-
Awwwww, Phyll...sounds like a traumatic experience. I GOOD friend would have never given you a difficult time. Heck, sounds to me like you wore off all those calories just beggin' for you fork and food!
-
Well, Phyll...sounds to me like those pancakes (after all that work everyone did just to get them made) should be guilt free! Can anyone say chaos???
-
I thought the pairs my friend had were cute... Have done many, many trips around MOA...we are from MN. Haven't been back for 10 yrs.
-
Jessica...it's good to be somewhat active and do what you feel you can but try not to over-exert...OK? You need to take this time to heal and rest. Bet you are looking forward to the full liquids tomorrow. What a good momma to make new jammies for your little guy. Saw his photo on your profile. He sure is a handsome one. You take care. Don't overdo...let others do for you.
-
Phyll...I hear if the pancake breakfast (with sausage) has a free will offering, then there are NO calories. If it was a bought and paid for meal then that's a no-no and maybe the reason Janet is on your case????? Oh-Oh...she's pulling up her own boot straps and now we are going to pay!
