Gosh, Tx...being a trucker you should be used to "Numb Butt Syndrome". Good to hear that you are doing well. I feel for you with the hair stuck on the tape thing. That's just plain inhumane!

Cheri....I feel your frustration...it came through load and clear. Only suggestion I have is to eat whatever you want at this point till your band loosens up. I.e....protein shakes, bars, high protein/high fiber cereal. If you are still hungry during the day because you are eating sliders, make yourself some lowcal veggie snacks to have at hand. Just make it work for you and not worry about your DH. I have had to do that many times this summer while recovering from dental procedures. I apologized to no one in my family for not sitting down and eating a meal with them. Hugs

Good Morning.... Linda...I ordered the fake boobs and butt for both myself and my friend. She's always been a skinny little thing (she's the one I was talking about yesterday that wants a boob job and is saving for it) and she talked me into it. It was fun. My son had ordered the theatrical beard and hair (he has shaved his head for years) and it looked so real. He is one to dress up in really elaborate outfits each year. It's killing him this year cuz he is at a wedding in Mpls and cannot attend the many costume competitions which he usually comes in first. Anyway, he came that night with the fake hair a beard and decked out in his trench coat and lace up boots. I could not post a photo of what he had under that coat. All I can say is that it was a very real looking prostetic. We started harvest again yesterday and am keeping my fingers crossed that DH is not too tired to go out. It's been so long since we have been out and I sooooooooo want to be his sleezy date. LOL. It's sad when you live farther out and don't get a lot of kids coming to the door for Halloween. I grew up in town and every kid came to the door. We only get a handful but I am going to dress up early and Tanker will be decked out in his headless horseman garb so we can meet them at the door. Gotta load up their bags with candy cuz DH and DS have packed on a few pounds...my fault buying it too early. They don't get the concept of having just one. Here is how it works at our house....yesterday I was Christmas shopping and not here at lunch time. I was unsure of how many would be at the table so left an apple crisp on the table with 1/2 dozen serving plates and roast in the crockpots to put on buns. Well, it turned out that DH was the only one to eat. Asked him where he put the rest of the apple crisp...in frig?...in freezer? He got this look and said "I thought I was supposed to eat it all". There were like six servings! But, DH has always been one to watch the scale. Up 5lbs and he has the determination to take it off in a week. I used to envy him for that. Arlene....I had responded to another thread yesterday to a girl that was struggling with extreme hunger between meals and was stating that I have somewhat defied my doc and had 5-6 small meals a day. My metabolism was so out of whack and I think that is what brought it back to where it was b/4 all my weight gain. I also am a believer (this is pushed by my LB doc) that carbs should be minimal. I know Cheri is a believer in the same tactic. If you can really make sure of the carbs you are getting and counting them, try to keep them between 20-40 carbs daily. Give it a good 2-3 week try and I bet you will see a difference. Those little things that we all think do not matter really do add up. I know you probably feel that we are closing in on your with all our advice and tips. Please don't. When one of us is struggling, we all feel your pain. Cheri wrapped it up in a neat little package with her post about some ppl being carb sensitive. I have a friend that if she introduces anything over 35 carbs into her diet, she will notice the difference. She is very vigilent in watching and it does it to her. I used to be during the weight loss stage. Somehow it did a turn around for me. Quite weekend on the thread. I am home most of the day (just have to run to town in a bit for parts) and will check in later. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sandy...those photos were taken 15 days after I hit goal. What the heck was I thinking? I should have been showing off my new body, not stuffing it. I will show it off in my costume tomorrow night.
  6. Spoiltmom...I would give your new fill a couple of weeks...just speaking from personal experience. I have had two fills. First one...NOTHING....Second one....NOTHING. I was soooooo disappointed that I could not feel any restriction. Well, two weeks later I felt it. Not too tight but could tell. I was on the fence for a while thinking I should have another. That was two years ago and I am perfectly satisfied with the amount of fill I have. Also, I am a believer in eating mini-meals throughout the day. My doc had strict rules of eating 3x daily. I could not function. I spread out my cals and it worked perfectly for me. But, not promoting this...just sharing it worked for me. Good luck...hope your fill kicks in.
  7. Congrats, Kristina! Keep it going! You look ONEDERFUL!!!

ISA...try to only weigh yourself on your weigh-in day if you are getting frustrated and feel defeated. Put the scale out of sight and just go on as you are sticking to your plan. Scales play mind games when a person weighs every day. We all have fluctuations and those 2-3 lbs differences can really put a damper on our moods and sometimes make us throw our hands up. Just a thought.

Thanks, Great...DH snapped it a few days ago as I was sitting at my desk "talking" with you guys. I thought it was appropriate for my LBT avatar. So, everytime you guys see it you can pretend my lips are moving.

Phyll...those grandsons of yours are both very handsome...good genes.
  11. You will build up your stamina with each week. You will be so surprised as you lose the weight how much energy you will have. Keep moving and adding more each time. Maybe you should try drinking a bit of protein drink b/4 your walks to give you a little boost. I know I am always tighter after physical exertion.
  12. Being up and about after surgery is a good thing. My doc encouraged as much walking as a person felt they could do. I was walking at least 2 miles a day 4 days after surgery. But, if you are concerned as to what your limits should be with exercise, give your doc's office a call and get some answers. Good luck as you start on this journey.

Hello Everyone. I hate mind games.

I had to do a six month medically supervised diet prior to surgery that turned into eight months. I was able to lose 52lbs during that time. I was thrown the question many times as to...if I could lose the weight why have surgery...I COULD SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. And, I knew once I got to goal, I would have help via the lapband to help me keep it off and keep that hunger at bay.
  14. I donated most of mine to Salvation Army about three times...Hit goal...thought I was done losing...donated...down another size and donated again. Some of my "special" peices I gave to some LBT online friends that were a few months behind me.

Hey Girls and TX...successful day of shopping. I AM DONE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!! Tomorrow night the plan is for DH and I to dress up and go out. There's a Blues Brothers band playing in a town east of here that we plan on going to and costume contest. I will snap some photos b/4 we head out. The following are photos from two years ago when I went out with my friend, my son and some of his friends. Fun was had by all. (My son is the one in the trench coat a.k.a. "Flasher") I'm the blond and was at goal...online shopping can provide almost anything a girl wants. LOL:w00t:

Hey Chris...good to see you posting. Hope your shoulder pain subsides with each day. I assume you have PT ahead of you also. That will keep you busy during your time off. Did the pain meds bother your new stomach at all? Have a restful weekend and take care.

Sorry about the stress, Joyce...not the way a person wants to lose weight. Kind of like having the stomach flu. Have a good trip if we don't talk to you b/4 you leave. Safe travels.

Good Morning Girls and Tx... TX...I hope that things are going good for you. Post when you can. Sandy...dog park sounds like fun. Bet Charlie will appreciate being able to run around and let his ears flop and sniff some dog butt. Sounds like you have a plan for your reconstruction. I swore I would never do it and be satisfied with what I ended up with. All I wanted to do was get to goal and be satisfied. I certainly don't mind my "front butt" as far as the way it looks. But, as I stated, it bothers me when I lay in bed and I have had some rashes over the summer and during harvest while working. I am a very active person and it's bugging me. I just need to make the decision whether I feel it's worth going though. Do I want to put up with the inconvenience from time to time or do I want it gone forever. And, since I started thinking about doing the procedure, I notice it more. I don't have to worry about the top...I've had enough up there since 5th grade but understand how you feel about it. I have a friend (non-WLS) who is saving to fill up her A cups. She really needs to do this for herself. Not obsessive about it just something she wants to do and feels she was shorted in that department. Eva...hope things level out for you with this new job so you can actually enjoy some non-work days. I know it took me awhile to get used to working from home. I got more done when I worked 50 hours a weeks cuz I think I HAD to be more organized to fit it all in. As soon as I get my books done this morning, I am heading out to get the rest of my Christmas shopping done. Travelling about 70 miles to our nearest mall. Just could not find what I wanted online....got most done and just have 4-5 gifts to get done. Will stop off at a wake (friend's father) on my way home and have the funeral tomorrow morning. You all have a good day. TGIF anyone?

Yep, they were both pregnant...one was about 25 yrs ago and the other 10yrs ago. Both did fine and had healthy babies. I have the good ole' tube job on the 16th. My GP told me to let the doc know that is doing the job that I have LB and should not need to do the big jug. Nope...64 oz of crap is ordered. I have my own plan...I will drink 1/2. He wouldn't listen to me and so, in turn, I will have my own plan. I usually don't buck the system but I know what works for me.

BSK...it all depends what food stage you are in. I would give my doc's office a call if you are unsure what you should have and what to take for a headache. My doc is strictly Tylenol. As far as the Wheat Thins go....they are quite high in carbs and fat. You would be better off eating some eggs, low sugar oatmeal, a bit of a protein shake. Hope you feel better soon.
  25. Atkins 17-20gr protein bars...make sure to look for the 4gr or less sugar Beef jerky Kashi Go-Lean 13gr protein cereal. I break it down into 1 cup snack bags Soynuts or dried edamame
