I'm with you, Luluc. I would rather have a "nice" glass of wine once in awhile than to have the "tree bark" flavor. Brings back memories of high school and back country roads sneaking around drinking Boones Farm!
-
Thanks, Jill. I'll check it out.
-
Good luck with your PS, Julie. Also, thanks for sharing your b/4 and after photos. You are a beautiful woman. I hope you will also share your PS progress. It is so helpful to those of us that are considering PS in the future. :bolt:

Luluc...I was asking if anyone knew if there was a wine out there (a good one) that has less carbs than others. What made me think of this is; I was visiting with a person about a year ago that has type I diabetes. She mentioned that her dr. had recommended she drink a certain brand of wine because it had lower carbs than most. I have no way to contact that person and thought maybe someone on this forum had some info.

Thanks for the detailed info. I, too, like to treat myself with a drink now and then. I include the calories when calculating my daily intake.

Hey Red, you started about the same time I did. My surgery date will be sometime in June (if ins. approves). I started at 240 and we have the same goal weight. Good luck to you with your surgery and also wishing you a quick recovery time.

Sorry mommi-hommi - I pushed the quote...was not responding or poking at what you said. Just a mistake. Tired:confused_smile:

I had a bad day yesterday and ate 1200 calories instead of my usual 800. Does that make me a PIG?
-
WOOHOOOO:thumbup:

Congrats. Take care of yourself.

Hey Janet, Have you ever been to the Mall of American or Mpls b/4? I am about 3 hours from there. Hope you have fun with your Lucky 7's. Nice time of year to visit our state. Also, have a great time in Laughlin. Never been there but hear it's great. I do a Vegas trip with about 30 friend from all over USA every year in March (this is my first year missed since 1997). Love doing the girl trips. (DH trips aren't too bad either). -
I know down the road that I will need a TT. Everyone is different. My band doc insists that people wait a year after they hit goal. I just have this feeling that I will still be hanging after that time. Until that time I try to keep in mind the response I got from my seven year old years ago. I asked him if mommy looked fat. He said "Not with your clothes on". I'm leaving my clothes on.

So sorry to hear what you are going through. I was told by my doc after a miscarraige that a D&C would be best for the health of my uterus. I am sure at this time you are devastated. Thinking of you. Hugs. -
We farm and live 2 miles from a dairy that has thousands of cows. It was built about three years ago. We only get the smell when the wind is from the east. The only thing I can think on those days is "I didn't sign up for this"! Yes, I live by a poop plant.

Great NSV's everyone! I am feeling a little discouraged. My scale has not moved much since I saw my surgeon a month ago. I see him again this afternoon and am going to just walk in with my head high. I did not change my diet; just think I have hit the "Great Plateau". Have lost 46lbs since 11/20 and need to stick with how well that went. I have one month left out of my six month pre-op diet. Think I will kick-start my diet tomorrow by doing 2 days of Protein drinks. Something's gotta give.
-
Congrats! When I hit something like that on the scale it puts me into the mode where I just want to try even harder. Hope you can stay in Onederland forever!
-
Great post, Pix...could you rerun that a couple of times a week? I think some ppl think the lapband is just a quick fix. They don't take the time to do their homework, are faced with a post-op problem and can't believe it's happening.

Two weeks away, insurance not yet approved -- could use some hand-holding!

Cheryl..I have my fingers crossed for you -
Forgot to pat you on the back when I did my above post. Good job with giving up the soda and straws. It's all those baby steps that get us a little closer to living those healthy lifestyles. As I said above, would rather go on the safe side. I, too, gave up sodas last Sept. when I started this process. Don't miss it a bit. It's all about breaking the habit. It can be done. Good luck with your surgery and living with the band.
-
Isn't there a reason our band doc. says no straws and no carbonated beverages? I guess I would go on the side of safe and pull away from sodas especially. I'd rather be safe than sorry. That's just me.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

Yeah Angelica!!!!!!!!!!! Well said. I think that is what most of us lapbanders get into this for. Striving to have a much more healthy lifestyle and therefore good health in general.
