It looks like a ton of forums were merged or moved. It makes it kind of difficult to see what is going on.
-
The sleeve forum had the most posts so they merged the other forums into it which I can understand from a marketing standpoint, it makes everything seem more active. but like you said @Sosewsue61 it makes it basically impossible to follow conversations and wade through content. Surgeries and post op needs of those surgeries are pretty different.

I finally got my last weight loss reward. I have a fur for the winter to combat being cold all the time. I can't begin to express how much joy my new car and wardrobe bring me. I would have never comfortably fit into a sports car before losing weight, and it is nice to be able to wear a fur without being the size of an actual bear.

I went to my monthly support meeting yesterday and got "yelled" at.
They think I'm too rigged with tracking my food, and I'm not eating enough carbs. Not that I should overload with carbs, but I should have more in the morning, and continue to eat a lot less of them in the afternoon and evening. As for tracking my food, they think I can't continue like I do, and think at one point it'll be what makes me gain weight again. That I'm not on a diet, and that I should build a normal relationship with food.

I wonder if people have a hard time sleeping after the sleeve operation?

I weighed 181 this morning. Only 1 more pound until goal, and the one year anniversary of my surgery date is Thursday. Seems appropriate!!

This weekend I purchased my first high fashion designer dress, that was not on clearance. Since I am kinda weight stable I decided to treat myself. I love clothing and I have always wanted to own a high end designer dress but I obviously I could never fit them before. It feels so good to go into a luxury store and have the sales people cater to your every whim. I am enjoying playing dress up with my new body so much!

I bought some new clothes for some upcoming work and fun trips. I am now in 32 waist slim-fit jeans and size small button-downs. Who would have ever thought this could happen when I started at 400 pounds?!?

I don't know what is going on, but I am dropping weight like crazy since I broke that last stall.
8/7- 181
8/10- 177.4
8/11- 176
8/13- 174
8/14- 173.5
Is it a coincidence that I was eating mainly plant based on my week long camping trip, (we don't serve meat on any church activities), and decided to go fully whole foods plant based a few days after returning? I am really beginning to believe my body is telling me something here. I guess time will tell. I am starting to look ahead to maintenance as I think it is closer than I thought. I am now thinking that 150 may be to too low for me. when I hit 160 I will re-evaluate my goal. One thing I have noticed about eating this way is that I get fuller faster. It doesn't seem like that would be true, but it is. Maybe it is just because the foods are less calorie dense, but I have to eat more often to get the same amount of calories in as before and I feel fuller faster.
Anyway, so far so good. I feel really good and I am confident that I found the best diet that will be sustainable long term.

Six months post-op and 90 pounds lost! I'm so happy with the weight loss, but I still can't help wishing it was 100 pounds instead. I still need to find time to do my measurements and take some photos though - I'm leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow morning, so am pretty busy cleaning and packing before I go.

I am starting to lose my edges ya'll. I cannot say RIP the edges. I have been slicking those babies back and wrapping them up at night. My babies hairs are laid for the gods as always. But them edges are splitting from my baby hairs like the Moses splitting the red sea. You could sail the Titanic between my baby hair and edges as this point. I will be damned if I am out here looking like Naomi Campbell.
Now I know people are going to say use a protective style. However, braids, weaves, twists and wigs will only pull more of my hair out. I have very fine hair with a lot on my head but my cute fro is a no go!

Did anyone start questioning surgery after having success with the preop diet? Having success with the preop is making me wonder if I should just continue with the diet and a trainer and don't know if this is just normal ad I should just go ahead with my date or if this is the little voice we are told to listen to. Help

I've got the dreaded "turkey neck" thighs!
Seriously, I was applying some BodyGlide anti-chafing stick to my inner thighs this morning, and I guess its the first time I really looked down there in a while, because I was shocked to discover that the backs of both my inner thighs literally look like a turkey neck! I was so shocked! As I've been losing weight, I of course have some loose skin, but nothing really bad (or so I thought). Thankfully I won't be wearing shorts or a swimsuit for some time yet....

Mine are bad, but I have noticed over the past 3 months they are improving. Give it some time once you are done losing and you might be surprised.

Still waiting on my neurologist to contact my insurance company so they can get the approval process going and the 6 month diet plan waived. My eye sight is getting worse as the days pass.

Guess what!? I haven't had a single bout of heartburn/acid reflux since being sleeved and changing my lifestyle diet to plant based. AMAZING! I believe it has to be the diet more than just being sleeved, since I've read that so many are having issues with it after being sleeved. Makes you wonder...huh?

A lot of GERD post-op is self created. Over eating is the main culprit but peopel won't admit to it. I follow this girl on IG, she has WLS before me, she eats like a damn trucker in amounts I can't even imagine, and she is claiming GERD when really she has been over eating since day one.

7/26 - Worst day EVER!! My dog was hit by a car and his back leg paw is broken. My mom had him off of the lease and he was peeing on some grass near the curb. He was walking on the edge to come back around when he fell into the street and a driver clipped his back right leg. The driver didn't even stop.
He is okay and just requires surgery to get pins in his right ankle. He has surgery on 7/28 in the morning.
I broke my Keto for the day. Anxious eating has always been my problem. I had Tostitos and salsa and just ate half a bag without realizing it. It took over an hour, however I still ate it.
7/27 - Got the price of how much this would cost. Over $5,000 for 3 nights stay, surgery, pins and painkillers. I cannot complain. It was funny to watch people look at me as I paid the medical bills up front. They were like, what does this young girl do and how much money does she make? I was looking at them like, I will pay anything for this dog. I just want to be able to take him home already. He is such a resilient dog though. He continues to try and get up although it hurts. I told him we will be twins (I have screws in my right ankle).
Kept to my keto today. Had beef chevy's for snacks. Sooo good.

Hi, all! In April 2017 I learned I needed a hip replacement but could not find a surgeon to help me. My BMI is too high making the risk of infection too significant for anyone to consider the procedure. So, after being obese the vast majority of my life, here I am. Time to face the demons.
One of my biggest concerns is failure. My father and his sister both had gastric bypass surgery and both are larger now than before their procedures.
I need to lose (and keep off) 85 lbs to qualify for hip surgery. I've lost 24 of it so far, pre-op. Ideally I'd like to eventually get below 200 lbs.
Surgery is scheduled for 8/7. Today is day 4 of a two week clear liquid diet (which is much harder than expected).

I had a friend that had RNY and never got anywhere near goal and has regained about 1/3 of their loss. They had surgery before I did. I learned from all of their mistakes, and that helped me not make those mistakes and be successful. So think about what they did, what they did wrong and try not to follow in those foot steps.
The things I saw my friend do was, not follow the post-op food steps. Eat the same just smaller (that won't last with time), and fad diet instead of finding a sustainable way of eating for life.

Does anyone purposely go to bed hungry or do you eat if you're hungry right at bedtime? I've always ignored the hunger and went to bed. It's not acid reflux (haven't had any, praise God!), but real genuine hunger. I could eat anything right now. In the past (healthy days), I learned to just go to bed, something to do with making the metabolism work/calories burn, etc. don't remember exact science. Also in the past (non healthy days) I thought I'd be hungry and would end up eating a snack before bed. But that was refux. So even though I'm genuinely hungry now. I wouldn't even want to start up that terrible old habit I had. I think I posted my status out of even thinking of getting something to eat, even if it's healthy.

Can anyone tell me what to buy to help pull in some of this loose skin about my stomach, it looks like I am carrying a sack of wheat under my clothes.

I'll be 9 months post op this week, 90lbs down. I've been stalled at 200lbs since 07/01/2017, just waiting for the descent into Onderland. Staying on plan and working out 5 days a week since mid-June and nothing...not an ounce. Was looking over my fitbit data today and noticed that since the first my body fat percentage has dropped from 42.5 to 37.2%, so that's something!

I bounced around at 200,201,202 for what seemed like a long time, I can't remember how long it was now, maybe 2-3 weeks, maybe a week. Then I never hit 199, I was 198, lol.
