Dinnerware?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Gary Bentz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use all my normal dishes and utensils so I am mindful that I am eating smaller amounts and why. Besides if you go to finer dining establishments they rarely fill the plate. -
Pizza
OutsideMatchInside replied to natarshassleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@natarshassleeve If you are willing to cook, 3-4 months? You can make homemade pizza. I was making flat bread pizzas with low carb flat bread on saturdays for a while, Saturday was my "carb" day. I don't eat the toppings off regular pizza because regular pizza sauces have added sugar, and pizza toppings are just sliders. I could eat the toppings off an entire large pizza if I wanted. So I either make my own pizza with low carb organic ingredients or I skip it. -
Did you have your RMR machine tested? It isn't a range, it is an exact number. The place where I have mine tested makes no food calorie recommendations. They just provide the number and the professor will comment on if it is in the normal range for my age and height.

Am I able to eat to much?
OutsideMatchInside replied to bigjim1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yogurt is a liquid, so it isn't really going to cause restriction. Some people heal faster than others. be happy and grateful, it means you can meet your protein goals easier. -
BMI of 21 getting gastric sleeve... thoughts?
OutsideMatchInside replied to iloveorganicmilk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What you do not seem to understand is that restriction is really temporary. The first 6 months you have a lot of it. The further out you get, the more you can eat, and the few things that cause restriction. When I was 5 months a Protein bar would have me stuff, at one year they are a slider. Restriction is temporary. It will not save you from binge eating. -

BMI of 21 getting gastric sleeve... thoughts?
OutsideMatchInside replied to iloveorganicmilk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@iloveorganicmilk The sleeve won't stop you from binge eating. You will just learn to eat around your sleeve. At one year out, I could binge eat if I wanted to. Like I could eat a whole box of Cookies, a ton of ice cream, milk shakes. The sleeve won't stop you from binge eating, not long term. Really not even short term. You could still try to binge eat early on, and really hurt yourself. The sleeve will not help you, period. -

Travel after sleeve
OutsideMatchInside replied to Nana1222's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Nana1222 If it is after 6 weeks and you can get all your fluids and Proteins in, you should be fine. You will get tired, but you can do it. The exercise will be great. If you are having issues getting your Protein in still in Feb, then you won't have enough energy and you are going to be exhausted. So it is a roll of the dice based on how you heal. -

They say to quit smoking, but what about legal marijuana?

OutsideMatchInside replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@LittleLizzieLilliput Ask the Dr and have them check with the anesthesiologist. You might have to stop for a couple weeks before and after. Just because of your lungs, but ask them. Is the sleeve safe long term?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Cutechiq10's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@kendra01 It depends. Some people still are hungry. Some people have head hunger. Some people need to take acid reducers. I am 1 year out and I do not have, or very rarely have any physical hunger. I do have head hunger. In the very beginning I had no hunger or desire to eat. -
Hair loss 1 year out
OutsideMatchInside replied to Saeed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say he is full of crap because doctors are pretty universally against you adding zinc as a supplement unless you need it. So if he said if you have hair loss, come in, we will do a blood panel and check if you have any nutritional deficiencies, that would make sense. We are supposed to have our blood work checked anyway but adding supplements without a need can be harmful. Not to mention you can't take zinc and Iron together, so you have to work a schedule out for taking them. -
Jealous friends?
OutsideMatchInside replied to staceface's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even when you are losing weight "fast" people don't usually see it, and they can't really tell how much. If you are really living an active life and have changed your eating habits, they will attribute it to diet and exercise. -
Jealous friends?
OutsideMatchInside replied to staceface's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is why I think it is just best to keep it to yourself about surgery. 4 of my friends know, and they are my real friends. They were only concerned about my recovery since I live alone in an area where I do not know anyone. They were all really supportive, but they aren't my fat friends. I didn't tell any of my fat friends. And since I am doing things they aren't willing to do, they don't have as much of an attitude about my weight loss as I thought they would, well there is one exception. I walk 2-5 miles a day, and don't eat any carbs. Most people are not willing to do that, so they are like whatever, enough your painful weight loss (it is easy mode to me).
