For the Lady Sleevers (Bras)
OutsideMatchInside replied to dyemond11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a shape and a size I have never been, so even if I had old bras they wouldn't help me. I have never been a 36G in my life. This is what I was talking about, I was out earlier and couldn't find the link. http://www.onehanesplace.com/shop/onehanesplace/maidenform-brand/maidenform-shapewear/shapewear-tops/flexees-shapewear-m1866 This will help you make a bra last longer because it will hold you tight and push you up to. -
Hunger returning at 3 months?
OutsideMatchInside replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start taking them and see if that helps. When I started adding more foods I had acid issues, I took a PPI for a while and it ended. I haven't take a PPI in months now, now acid issues. -

OutsideMatchInside replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a PPI and antacids? I am asking because at first I kept my diet very simple. As I added more things I started having acid issues. I had mild acid issues from 3 to 9 months, then it stopped. -
Physical activity by day 6?
OutsideMatchInside replied to sasharbinx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I did was walk, short distances multiple times a day. -
Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Torrid makes me so mad. They haven't had any cute clothes in like 3 or 4 years. The buyers they have now are terrible. I don't miss paying $40 for a graphic tee. I'm a 12 sometimes a 10 now and my goal now is an 8. When you get closers you might want to go smaller. -
Complications from advancing diet too soon
OutsideMatchInside replied to Frenchie1977's topic in Rants & Raves
Our comments aren't welcome. Just hang out in the vets forum and high five each other I guess since advice from people that have lost most of their weight and have stuck around to help others isn't wanted by new people. -
For the Lady Sleevers (Bras)
OutsideMatchInside replied to dyemond11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought bras every few weeks, it's just not something I can negotiate on. I went from DD to a G cup. A good support bra isn't optional. What does help them last longer is a good strong torso shaper. Like a the wear your own bra torso ette from Maidenform. They give you that security of a tight band feel. -
How many calories do you eat on average as post-op?
OutsideMatchInside replied to sasharbinx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't eat carbs except green veggies, and the trace carbs from cream, and coffee. Lots of people eat carbs and are successful but I see a pattern of people with carbs equal to or exceeding their Protein stalling. If you trust your dietician you should follow her advice. -
African American vsgers!

My horrible experience at a restaurant.

What counts as a "nice" restaurant in America is a huge variable. -

It shouldn't but someone always want to pop in here and remind us that this is post-racial america... -
4 days post op and I've advanced my diet
OutsideMatchInside replied to CakesItUp's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Listening to our bodies did so well for us before, we had to have WLS because we got so fat. I don't think we are very good at "listening to our bodies" when it comes to food. Just sayin'.The whole point of going through phases with dieting is to let your stomach adjust to "new" foods as it heals. If you're not listening to your body during this time and figuring out what works and what doesn't, then what's the point of even having the surgery? Yeah maybe at the 4 to 6 week point, that is totally true. Not at 4 days. There is no trial and error at 4 days. -
My horrible experience at a restaurant.
OutsideMatchInside replied to Hiraeth's topic in Rants & Raves
Most of the stuff on kids menus we can't even eat. If I went to an expensive buffet like the $120 variety on Christmas I might try to use my card, especially since I don't drink. However, sitting there I am taking up a seat that someone who is paying full price could be sitting in. So I would just pay full price. Business is business. So I don't go to expensive holiday buffets anymore. -
Bypass would have to be killing you, literally for them to reverse it, and even if they did reverse it, you will never be normal again.

OutsideMatchInside replied to Hiraeth's topic in Rants & Raves
I leave a scathing Google or yelp review and let it go. Although I'm level 4 on Google local guides so I don't have to review as much. I have my free storage. But like I said, I wouldn't have asked about it because it wasn't worth it and I understand the fee. I complain about things like cold food or places that serve fake butter and fake creamer. -

I wouldn't care about $3. Especially on a check that low. -

OutsideMatchInside replied to Hiraeth's topic in Rants & Raves
But you complained about $3. I don't get it. The time it would take me to complain would cost me more than $3. Time is worth more than money. I feel like you are fresh from surgery, hormonal and making a big deal out of nothing. I'm not saying that to be mean or anything. I did something similar post op. I'm just saying get some perspective and move on. It is not worth it. This is why I don't ask for special treatment in restaurants or expect them to lose money on my orders. -
Because the bypass isn't really reversible. It is major surgery to reverse it and most Doctors won't do it. Reversing it will still leave you with all those cuts and stitches. Yeah with the the sleeve most of you stomach is gone forever but your intestines have no cuts or stitches. If you want something reversible get the band or the Ballon. Have your intestines chopped up twice shouldn't really be an option.

My program gave me one at my pre-op class. I've never used it. Most of the food on kid menus is crap. -

A lot of places charge split fees. I never get charged split fees because I never split food and I don't ask for special treatment at restaurants. I don't think it is fair to complain about being charged a fee. It is like when parties of 6 or more complain about automatic gratuities. -
How many calories do you eat on average as post-op?
OutsideMatchInside replied to sasharbinx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one is saying not to count. If people are eating 800 calories a day and over 50 grams of carbs, most of their calories are from carbs not Protein. That is bad nutrition. The type of calorie counts, just just the calories amount. -
My horrible experience at a restaurant.
OutsideMatchInside replied to Hiraeth's topic in Rants & Raves
Nicer restaurants charge a split fee. If you don't want to pay stuff like that there is always Applebee's. Just because you are eating "less" does not mean you cost less to service. Why should the restaurant or the server lose money on your table because you had WLS? -
Question?
OutsideMatchInside replied to danithomas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not interested in Malabsorption. I wanted to be able to take meds and supplements and not worrying about the dosing for the rest of my life. I also wanted to be as normal as possible, which was easily achieved with the sleeve I don't know anyone who as even had the bypass and got to a normal weight. They are all still obese. Gold standard my ^%$. -
I would randomly get GERD if I accidently over ate. I never had GERD before surgery and it hurts in a really weird way. I just think take them. Taking them won't hurt anything. Not taking them you take the chance on hurting. It was just an easy situation to avoid so I wish I followed Dr orders on iy
