    This little thang..

I love my collar bones. I flex my muscles all the time so they pop in the mirror. ????????

    Time off from work

You can get fatigued so fast and easy in the first month. I wouldn't trust myself on a commute. I would have tons of energy, and then just be instantly exhausted. If I had to commute for work, I would be afraid of falling asleep at the wheel. I work from home so I went right back to work the day after surgery, answering customer emails as soon as I arrived home from the hospital. I don't suggest it though. I think someone with a regular job would need 2 to 3 weeks off.

    Uncontrollable Bowels

You realize this person never came back and is most likely a troll. No sane person is going to complain about dumping after eating ice cream 2 .5 months post-op.

    WL after first six months

@@triplethreat I feel like somewhere between 6 and 9 months it isn't about the sleeve. It is about you. At 6 months for me, it was like a switch flipped and I was fully healed and I felt it. I could/can eat whatever. So I have to make good choices and be mindful. I don't think it gets harder, to me it is easier because I can eat more and meet my Protein goals and fuel workouts but from 6 months on, it is you, not your sleeve. I see you are at a healthy BMI, congrats!

Able to eat more than expected...

Thats not bad macros. I like the look of that app by the way. I would drop the carbs, grits and whatever else. And up the Protein. Try to hit 1200 calories with more protein and less than 25 grams of carbs. No grains, no sugar, no starches. Only get carbs from green veggies

What are you eating that is 5 cups but less than 1000 calories? How many grams of carbs? How many grams of protein?

Maybe you should spend some time learning nutrition instead of trolling the African American thread.

Too Much Too Fast? Kinda Freaked out!

*Just saw this was guys room. I'm really sorry for responding. Are you meeting your Protein goals? It doesn't sound like it. How much protein are you having a day? A guy 6 feet tall should be getting in at least 100G of protein a day. I'd dial back on those carbs and up my protein. Even if it doesn't slow you down, you will keep your muscle.

    Surgeon recommends sleeve not bypass

I never had GERd before surgery. I had the acid issues that most people have post op. Losing weight and avoiding trigger foods will probably prevent you from having GERD. Personally I think the sleeve is superior in a lot of way to the bypass, but that is my personal opinion. If your Dr thinks the sleeve is okay for you, and you trust your Dr, have the sleeve. Lots of sleevers never have GERD issues. My reflux was always based on how I ate that day, since cutting out all unhealthy foods I had not had reflux at all (9 months?). Should I still worry it could come back with the sleeve if I avoid the trigger foods? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    Surgeon recommends sleeve not bypass

If you have GERD now because of a hernia, and they fix the hernia, you might be okay. I dunno I would be leary, just because the sleeve is so fast for Drs, it is very profitable for them. They are do a lot more sleeves in a day than RNY.

    Question for the 100+lb losers

I complain about my skin all the time but as I am losing more and more time has passed it is actually getting better. I can hide it with shapewear or pantyhose. I won't ever look great naked without plastic surgery but I look great in clothes. 99.9% of people are going to see me fully clothed.

    Question for the 100+lb losers

I have lost about 177 lbs to date. I was super strict and still pretty am about my food. I did do a lot of food experiments. I had baked fish most of the time for the first 6 months. Then once I was cleared for steak, it was mostly steak. I do not eat carbs at all, except green veggies. I hardly ever go above 25g of carbs a day and a "bad" day for me is 50-60 carbs. I have been to the gym maybe 10 times. The gyms in my area suck so I quit. I walked 1/2 a mile to 1 mile a day the first month. 2 miles a day the next month. 3 to 5 miles months 3-9. Then pokemon go came out I was wasking 6 to 10 miles a day for months 12 to 13. In my opinion doing gym workouts intense ones just don't worn for me. I read eat right for your blood type and learned why. Intense work outs have the opposite effect for someone like me, they increase my stress levels and make me hang onto weight. So walking, kayaking, yoga, weight lifting works better for me. I also think calculating the calories and balancing calories with working out is really hard. I was burning a ton of calories this summer and it was really hard to get enough calories in. I HAVE to replace keep my calories up or I will stall. My body hangs on to fat at severe calorie deficits. So you do not have to hit the gym to lose weight. I think honestly you lose weight faster and easier not working out. You do however need to be active every day. If you have a lot to lose walking or swimming are the best exercise with low stress on your joints. Weight loss issue all about your food. You cannot put train a bad diet. Fitness and strength are going to require working out, but it isn't required for losing weight.
  14. @@JupiterinVirgo I have been doing affirmations for the past month to try and feel better about my body and looks. They have really helped. That along with taking 5-HTP has really helped calm my negative self talk.

Nobody steals my stuff but I try to keep a stock of choices in the refrigerator at work for the times when whatever I brought isn't working. In your case, if someone jacked your food.

welcome to world of working in an office environment. nothing is sacred. a few months post op - had a little container with a strawberry (that's right one) in it in the fridge for my afternoon snack with a piece of cheese. it was there at lunch, but at 3:30 snacktime it was gone. I was still having major emotional moodswings so I did cry. a week later, the tin of caffeine free tea that I kept ON MY DESK was stolen while i was in a meeting. I went to security on that since it meant someone went through the things on my desk and blatantly stole it. Security shrugged saying what do you want us to do? Still being an emotional basketcase, I went off. it wasn't pretty. now I keep my tea and an insulated lunch bag locked in my desk drawer. it's ridiculous when you think you work with responsible professional adults...

    Does anyone regret surgery

I enjoy being out with friends. My enjoyment just doesn't involve mass quantities of food now. Yes I eat but I find that I'm more involved in the conversation than I've ever been and I feel like I get so much more out of the time that I've spent. How about drinks? Beer, vodka, wine? Sent from my Pixel using the BariatricPal App You can drink if you want. Hard liquor doesn't have carbs so that is better than beer. Take it neat or with a low carb mixer. I don't really drink but I have had a few drinks since surgery. Wine is too acidic for early post op. Drinking alcohol is counter productive go trying to lose weight but there is nothing to stop you. It just isn't suggested.

    Does anyone regret surgery

The reason people look sick a day unhealthy is because they ignore nutrition. Take your Vitamins, meet and exceed your Protein goals and you will glow right on up. People that use surgery as a way to starve themselves end up looking terrible. I look easily 10 years younger than my age, and this is what other people tell me not my opinion. I also eat high fat which helps with looking good and having nice skin.

    Body image and sex

@ He was talking to me. I have been dating men in their 40s for the past 20 years. My preference has always been a silver fox, so 40 and up. Dating someone in their 40s isn't settling, most women want an established man. Even though I mainly get approached now by men in their 20s. Men and how they feel about me aren't the issue. It is my own person issue and comfort level. I always feel like I am beating my head against a brick wall with this topic. No one gets it.

    Gas pains

GasX is completely useless for surgery gas. That gas is. It in your GI tract, it is in your chest cavity. Walk and move as much as possible. The gas hitting my shoulder was the most painful thing about this whole process. Hurt like hell and nothing helps it.

    How many bites.

I've never counted bites since they are not scientific and vary from person to person. A better way to tell if you are full early on is burping, hiccups or a running nose. You don't experience restriction on liquids on soups, what you are feeling is swelling from surgery, so you should never really feel full. Have your 2 ounces if you can, or whatever your program recommends, and stop. There is no way to gauge your capacity early on, you have to measure and work to just meet goals.

    Sleevers show me your.......

I make keto/low carb chili, and it just has meat, seasoning and diced tomatoes. I can eat 6 ounces at a time, had some for lunch. Some asked this exact same Quest like a week or 2 ago and people, including myself, posted pictures. Search for that thread. I posted my 5.5 ounce pork chop. I can eat a whole dinner salad at most restaurants, the Protein is only 2-3 ounces and the salad greens are sliders to me so I can pretty much eat unlimited. Uncontrollable Bowels

@@Judygrim708 2.5 months is far to early to know if someone has lactose intolerance. Eating an ice cream sandwich that is full of sugar and causing dumping is pretty obvious.
