    Irony

There is a reason everyone is carb addicted. It is planned. This documentary explains it very well. http://www.abc.net.au/foreign/content/2012/s3547707.htm

No, I don't want no SCALE

If you want to lose 1/2 a pound just go urinate. That is 8 ounces... Like seriously part of weighing yourself everyday is so you can learn that your body flucuates all the time and use the scale as a tool, not absolute law.

This is what the US government says an average size 8 year old should be eating. I got average size from here. https://www.babycenter.com/0_your-childs-size-and-growth-timeline_10357633.bc https://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/interactiveDRI/ See the problem?

    Best low-impact post-op exercise?

Walking outside for a variety of reason but when you are walk in a real environment, you use more muscles and you have to adapt more. Working out in a gym is artificial activity to mimic real activity because people do not get real activity anymore. https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/21/the-benefits-of-exercising-outdoors/
  5. I just watched a video on YouTube of a WLS patient that is 4 years out, had multiple revisions and is kind of a failure at WLS. It reminded me why I don't take diet or health advice from fat people.

You've got a point there. I used to see a NP and she is overweight and she kept telling me how I need to lose the weight. Just didn't make sense.

    Irony

Usually these are poor people. There is a lot more going on than just bad food choices. Too much to type about on an internet forum. There are seveal documentaries dedicated to the topic. At the end of the day. The powers that be, and America in general doesn't care about good health and nutrition. It is basically fighting a losing battle. Until the Food Pyramid is corrected, nothing is going to change. And even then, it will take 1 to 2 generations to fix this.

A year out.... so what are you eating ?

I actually eat a lot of stuff or it seems like it to me. I create my variety in cuts of meats and spices. I didn't eat pork for over 20 years and I started eating it last year for variety. I eat lamb, buffalo, all the fish.

A year out.... so what are you eating ?

Try it out for a week and see if you like it. If you want premium it is $39.99 but if you hunt around the internet you can usually find it for 29.99

A year out.... so what are you eating ?

I use http://www.loseit.com/ I hate MFP with the heat of 1000 suns. They allow so much user added content and people suck at math so bad, almost all the information in there inaccurate.Plus they charge a fortune for premium and their UX designers suck. LoseIt has items that have green check marks next to them, those are verified. You can also easily add your own information, and make recipes etc. I use premium and I like all the goal tracking and the badges. I'm still trying to get that 200 pound loss badge. Their forums have a lot of useful information too. When I am home I track on the PC, when I am out I track on my phone It is way to easy to have a busy day, forget to eat and be too low on protein.

    Took a chance...

They will probably be too big. Keep them in the package for regifting. They are 12/14 and those PJs run large. If you are starting at a 22/24 you can easily be an 8/10 by Christmas.

A year out.... so what are you eating ?

@jersey0601 I track every day. I track mainly to make sure I eat enough, not that I eat too little.

Even though Medicaid is a Federal program, it is administered by states and they can have different rules. Good luck.

    DOES BUTT GET SMALLER?

I've lost all over but I have an hourglass shape. Everything is the same just smaller, except my boobs which seems 10 times larger. MY RNY friend that keep using as an example of everything not to do... She said she didn't want to lose her curves, but that is like the dumbest idea ever. Smaller women still have curves. I have enough boobs for 3 women. I still have hips and a butt but I am 1/2 my size. If you really have a shape, you will still have a shape. If you won't you can make one in the gym or the surgeons office.

    Dr. Duc Vuong on exercising

Yeah I will be honest. I was prepared for him to be a quack just by the setup, how he looks and I hate facebook live. He reminds me of my surgeon though. Young, charming, skilled and confident. If you hate the gym and the trainer just don't do it. You don't want to do something that makes you feel bad about yourself. If you are rehabbing, try Yoga, there is restorative Yoga etc. My studio has a variety of classes to address a variety of needs. the stress relief from yoga is amazing and you use muscles in yoga you did not even know you had. Aerial yoga is also a great place to start.
  19. I think RNY might be a good option for you because of your size and the risk of another surgery later on if the sleeve isn't enough, maybe even the DS might be a good option for you.

    Surgery vs weight loss injections

@char3672 Is it working for your sister? I guess my question wouldn't be if it works but if it lasts. I like most people that post here, could lose weight before surgery, but I couldn't keep it off. If I lost weight on my own starting when I started this, I would have already regained all the weight I lost and be higher than I started by now. I don't think you want to wait 5 years and see how her results are. Also for me, the big plus of the sleeve was it was a one and done. As long as you don't have complications it doesn't require a lot of additional long term maintenance. Almost everyone needs to take a multivitamin, I took one before surgery for basically all of my adult life. Most people have a blood workup at their yearly exam. There is nothing out of the ordinary to maintain a sleeve long term. That appealed to because that makes it low cost and not subjected to the whims of changing insurance rules.
  21. It wasn't until I was a 12 that my WL really hit me hard. A few things that helped me accept my size... Taking my measurements, and comparing them to size charts. Numbers don't lie. Trying on clothes every week. For a while even if I wasn't going to buy something I dedicated 2-3 hours a week to trying on clothes, trying on clothes in various sizes and brands helped convince me of my size. I still have a hard time just picking clothes by looking at them. It doesn't help that in normal sizes there is more size variation in sizes than with plus sizes. There are fewer plus size clothing makers and fewer size variations. In regular clothes not on do you have brand variations, but I also shop in juniors a lot and that is whole different thing too. Lately I can look at dresses like sheath dresses and know they will fit. I wear a 10 in Calvin and Ralph Lauren and I know what that looks like, so if a dress looks that size I have a good chance of fitting it. I wear a G cup so my boobs are an issue. If something has stretch and I don't have to go up to fit my breasts in I can wear an 8. I can eye ball that too. Still this has been like 5 months in the making. I always shopped in normal stores for accessories or with my friends so I don't feel like a fraud. I was a shopaholic before so I feel comfortable in any store. Plus I look like a shopper so sales people love me.

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

Nope. I don't vomit. I take my vitamins, I blow my protein goals out the water. I also had nice teeth to start with, and have always gone regularly to the dentist. I use a Sonicare and brush my teeth 3 times a day and I floss. A lot issues people have post op are self created, and I am going to leave it at that. Actually I'm not. People act like taking vitamins is optional. They act like getting your protein is optional, if it is too hard you can just skip it. A lot of the people you see blowing their early weight loss out the water are doing it because they are slowly starving themselves and suffering from malnutrition, which why comparing yourself to other people is not only foolish, it is dangerous. One of the people that used to post here bragged about her 6 month weight loss to newbs. What the new people that she was telling about her fast pace to goal didn't know is the first 6 weeks she had no protein because her Dr had her on a plan with no protein and she was starving. Basic dental health and overall nutrition are not mysteries. Your body will suck all the nutrients and minerals it needs out your bones if it is not getting them from food in an effort to survive. The same thing happens when women are pregnant and not taking vitamins. You take pre-natal vitamins for yourself, not the baby. The baby will pull all the nutrients it needs right out your body. Post-op plans are pretty clear, people ignore them and blame the Drs and the plans, instead of taking personal responsibility.

    Compression Shirts

Faster muscle recovery and in my case, holding my loose skin in place so I don't hurt while being active. http://www.mensjournal.com/gear/sports/the-compression-sportswear-craze-20131108 Also as a female, compression leggings last longer and are not see through.

    Stomach Noises

It isn't loaded with sugar, they sweeten it with Splenda which is basically rat poison, but Splenda isn't sugar. I loved the diet lemonade pre-op, but post-op it burns my throat, maybe because I never have acid. Not sure. ChikFilA is the best fast food option post-op, I eat there all the time. Just not at 2 weeks.
