    Gummy vitamins

They are not high enough quality. There are a lot of options listed here at different price points. https://youtu.be/zmP59h0CTXs?t=33m46s

    Feeling miserable

Have you tried Syntrax Nectars? What shakes are you taking? They they thick or thin. Are they cold? I wouldn't drink anything cold at first, it has to be room temp or warm.

    impulse buying? sorta?

I would avoid buying home gym. Unless you are going to really spend several thousand dollars the quality of what you are going to have at home is not effective. You would be better off buying a kettle ball, and a hand weights set and finding a workout you like. There are lots of free workouts on Instagram and youtube. Just doing squats, with a 15-20lb kettle ball is really going to help. As far as excess skin, try dry skin brushing and body peels to make your skin cells turn over faster.

    spicy foods?

I have been eating spicy foods since I started soft foods. I tried one bite, waited 5 minutes to see what happened, nothing happened and I went all in. The only thing I will say is if you accidentally eat too fast or overeat, you might get heartburn. Idid once, it has not repeated.

Can it really be this easy?

My surgery/recovery has been easy also. Almost to the point I feel guilty even talking about it because so many people are miserable. I wasn't sure about how small my stomach was until I really started trying to eat food. Not being able to finish one scrambled egg was very sobering. Unable to finish even one crab cake. Full off 3oz of swai. That has helped make it real. Trying to remember to take all the supplements and take them apart from each other is really challenging. The weight isn't dropping off like I expected but hopefully that starts changing next week. We need more threads like this so people can see there is a chance for a positive outcome.

    July sleevers?

I have been stalled for a week. Part of it is fluid retention and some is constipation. I am getting frustrated. I kicked up my workout hoping to see some results

Does my iPad hate WLS ?

It is probably because of all the ads.
  8. Once you tell people, you can't untell them. Well I did untell someone, I told them pre-op I was considering it, then before surgery I told them it wasn't happening. I told them not to tell anyone and they told 2 other people and told me they told 2 other people. I asked they why they told these people and they said "well it was just blah blah, I didn't think it would matter". I said no one means no one. Then all they said was "oh". So that is kind of what you can expect. I thought this person could keep a secret, I have certainly kept some of their secrets. In the end I told one person that lives on the other side of the country and came to be with me for my surgery and then left. I'm not ashamed of my surgery. I just don't want to be the poster child for it and I am not interested in talking about to strangers or semi strangers or anyone who decides they want to talk about it when I don't. I'm not a medical professional and I just am not comfortable talking about something personal like that. I don't talk about any of my other medical procedures. Just because we live in a society that is hung up on weight doesn't mean you have to let people invade your personal life because they are curious. The only situation where I might tell someone is if I think they are morbidly obese and the surgery might really help them, but I am still working through that in my head because again I am not a medical professional, and it isn't my place to give people medical advice. You have to think about what is best for you and your lifestyle. Do you want to answer questions about weight and weight loss for the rest of you life? Even when maybe you are at goal weight, eating semi-normal and leading a new life? Do you want people to question your choices? Are you able to defend those choices or blow them off? It is a lot to think about. No telling people always leaves the option to tell them later, but telling them, leaves you fewer options.

    Vacation rant

Stress isn't good for your weightloss. I don't know what being married is like so I can't really comment on the husband part, but you have to just work out a solution for your water on your own. No one who hasn't has surgery is going to understand. Before surgery if I was short on water at the end of the day I would just chug a 2 liter of water. I can't do that anymore and its hard to get all my water. I used to drink 80-120oz a day I struggle to get in 64 now.

    Coworker outed me

@@jas84047 I would be mad, but you shouldn't have told them. 2 can keep a secret if one of them is dead. Someone on here said that you can't untell people and that is the truth. No one else is going to understand your privacy like you do, or respect it. They are going to blab all your business all over the office. So brace yourself and prepare for it. I doubt she is the only one that has told someone.

@@valcatlett4 You have lost more weight than me and you are a lower BMI. I think your progress is great.
  12. Even if you lose medicaid, you can buy a health insurance plan on the exchange at a discount that will cover surgery (look at the BCBS plans). So talk to your doctor, take the job, and it will work out. Illinois also has expanded medicaid so that might offer more options. I don't know much about medicaid but I do know you can buy a plan on the exchange and it will cover WLS. All the things you need post surgery add up. You are going to need a decent income to be able to take care of yourself after surgery.

Today was my first day at the gym. I wanted to make sure I was really healed well. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and burned 315 calories (according to the machine, not sure how accurate that is)!

I am kinda comforted that most of us are stalled. I too wonder if I am failing and I am at a much higher BMI than most of you. I was expecting the weight to fall off at this point. I am having a hard time with track soft foods I never eat all of them I am going to have to get a scale and weigh before and after. By scale, I mean a food scale so I can accurately track my consumption.

    Hair loss and contraceptives

A copper IUD, has no hormones. If you already have hair loss, I wouldn't do hormonal birth control since a lot of them have hair loss as a side effect. If you go with a copper IUD, make sure you get it at least 6 months before you get married so your body can adjust to it. You will have heavier periods for about 6 months and a little spotting off and on. So I would get one ASAP so you are all good by the time for the wedding. Your hair should be on the mend by the wedding, but you can always have clipins added to your hair to make it fuller for your pictures. Your wedding is almost a year away, your hair will be better by then. Start looking for a good stylist can use clipins now though. May is a busy time.

    Coke Zero pre op diet

@@John Michaels I gave up soda long before I even thought seriously about soda. Soda just isn't healthy, learn to part with it, if being healthy is your goal. Some people just care about losing weight by any means necessary but if you really want to be a healthy person make healthy choices.

    Probiotic Anyone?

I use Ortho Biotics, I purchased on amazon. It is a powder and you can add it to anything. It does have a "taste" and it is gritty so it best to add it to something that can mask it, like a shake. It was recommended by Blossom Bariatrics. https://youtu.be/zmP59h0CTXs?t=40m18s

    Carb question

My Dr and almost every plan I have seen is against grains. And even though there are grains like maltomeal and cream of wheat on my plan as options, my Dr still says to avoid them if possible. I see a lot of people eating cheese and crackers or crackers with their tuna salad. Or all the people that eat yogurt. Still 60-80 grams of carbs seems impossible with a tiny stomach, and still getting Protein in.

    July sleevers?

If you look at the more recent research, the sleeve and the bypass have almost the same results 2 years out. It is a personal choice so make sure you do all your research and decide that is good for you. Everyone is different.

Help me please! Pre op question

I was on a clear liquid diet the day before my surgery. Different doctors do different things. I had 9 other days of just a liquid diet. All the Drs in my program request the last day be clear liquids, but I still had broths and stuff on that day.

    BCBSIL Hernia Surgery

Is the doctor you selected in the plan? have you already met your deductibles? It only works if the Dr and hospital are in network.
  25. Make low carb fried chicken. Make sure all of your indulgences are still low carb. They take more time, cost more money, and you will be more satisfied with them. http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2014/12/chicken-nugget-meatballs-low-carb-gluten-free.html http://lowcarbcrock.com/2013/02/low-carb-chicken-nuggets-chick-fil-style/ These all taste good and non low carbers will like them.
