Tummy bump help?!
OutsideMatchInside replied to lucky1gg33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buy some shape wear, something high waist or a firm control top. http://www.hanes.com/onehanesplace/womens-shapewear/shapewear-brands/maidenform-shapers/flexees-shapewear-m1866 This works but it will creep up. If you put it on and put like a pair of jeans on, the jeans will keep it down. Even better put a lower body shaper over it. If you wear that and put something like this over it http://www.hanes.com/onehanesplace/womens-shapewear/shapewear-brands/maidenform-shapers/flexees-thigh-slimmer-m2355 You will be tucked and tight. It will help train your muscles in without being like a dangerous waist trainer and it will keep pressure there and stimulate the circulation. You could put something like sweet sweat on under it. The best solution will be to keep losing but this will help you appear flatter. -
My heart keeps getting stomped on
OutsideMatchInside replied to limichelle34's topic in Singles Forum
Be selfish and focus on yourself. I'm single, my whole life revolved around myself and I enjoy it. If you focus on yourself and being great, people will flock to you. There are billions of people on the planet, don't let one person have that much power over you. There are plenty of men out there. -

What to pack for the hospital
OutsideMatchInside replied to thinkingthin15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They gave me swabs for dry mouth, so I didn't need anything for it. If you are going to a good bariatric hospital, you really need almost nothing. When I was in recovery and didn't have my lip balm, I asked the nurse for something for my lips because they were dry and she put Vaseline on them for me. I don't know how long your pre-op diet is, but after 10 days on liquids, and the last day just Clear Liquids then a whole 36 hours of nothing. I didn't have the strength to stand for a shower. I walked because it was the best pain relief, and I can't sleep on my back, let alone in a hospital. -
Do I have to eat Broth
OutsideMatchInside replied to jacqulineturner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been sleeping on my stomach since day 4. It is really the only way I can sleep, and once I did that it seemed like my recovery really picked up. Lamb broth from Whole Foods is delicious. All the chicken broths, no matter how expensive suck. -
No restriction feeling hungry
OutsideMatchInside replied to GSDMom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You might be dehydrated at work. When I am working I have a hard time getting my Water in. If I do nothing but concentrate on drinking I can drink 20-24oz in 30 minutes. So I drink water in the car nothing else to focus on (well driving) and I get it down fast. Probably the head hunger from being around people who are eating and regular food is probably making you crazy. I don't know if I could do this if I had to work in an office with people. -

I got in 74oz of water yesterday and I am on track to do it again. I drink 22 in the 33 minutes I am on the elliptical. And then I drink lemon water all day. It have 3 different containers I have to finish to do this and dividing them like that has made it much easier. Not weighing myself so I don't stress about. Hitting 90-100 protein. Eating one meal a day rest shakes. Keeping carbs under 20 -
What to pack for the hospital
OutsideMatchInside replied to thinkingthin15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore the same clothes home that I wore there. I only had them on about an hour anyway. I did bring fresh underwear. Bring chapstick. You can;t shower in the first 24 hours. How long do you plan on being there? I took a whores bath and it was fine. You wash with anitbacterial soap before you get there and they keep you freezing cold. Unless you work up a sweat walking like I did, You will be fine. I did keep my face routine up. -

Your new employer could exclude barbaric surgery. Employers can pick and choose what they cover so just beacuse it seems like the same plan doesn't mean that it is. -

Self pay but recieving bills
OutsideMatchInside replied to Amy4a2381's topic in Insurance & Financing
Well for perspective. My surgery cost 38K and insurance paid 11K, that was their negotiated rate. What you did was similar. If the hospital says you have a zero balance then you have a zero balance. Their billing system has to catch up. They aren't really equipped for self pay at most places. -
Will I be able to get in enough protein to bodybuild?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Dub's topic in Fitness & Exercise
So can you build muscle with 90 grams of protein a day? Everything I read says you need calories above maintenance. I really want to build arm muscles. -

See your doctor ASAP -
You are going to be stuck paying for almost all of the hospital stay and the surgery. The doctor part is very small compared to all the hospital charges. I wouldn't do it. Self Pay would be cheaper some place else. Why isn't the surgery center in the network? Will they even approve the surgery with a center not in the network? Most insurance won't.

@@KnowUrWorth With the number of people you told, your sleeve isn't a secret or it won't be for long. I told 3 people, none of them live near me and they all live in 3 different states and don't talk to each other or anyone else I know. You can't untell people, so be careful who you do tell. Also, remember when you tell people, they are going to want to talk about it when you may not want to, for the rest of your life.

Terrified: Eating too much 3 1/2 week out?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Nyelaah's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow almost none of that stuff is on my list. I am still on soft baked fish. I will be 4 weeks tomorrow and the only way I can eat a whole egg is if it is fried and not scrambled, and it is still a struggle. -
Poverty and Obesity: a first hand experience

Well at least the stuff from Hyvee is delicious. I will remember their bakery fondly. This is disgrace in America. I think it would be nice to include some of those items as treats since people short on money can't afford treats, but it was almost all treats -
Why did you choose the Sleeve over the Bypass

I didn't want my intestines touched. I watched some die a slow year long death due to intestine issues after a surgery, not wls, and I decided anything that touched my intestines was not for me. -
How Good are You about Not Drinking While Eating?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Beck90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was growing up we were not allowed to drink with meals. The thought was kids would fill up on liquids, not eat all their food then be hungry later. I changed this as an adult, but I still did not drink much while eating. I used to drink a full glass of Water before I started eating to try and prevent myself from over eating. So it is easy to eat without drinking right now. When I first started on soft foods I had to take the tiniest of sips once or twice when food felt like it was stuck, but the real solution to that is to take small bites, chew well and eat slowly so you don't over eat. Once you are sleeved you will feel the difference. When you are struggling to eat one egg, you won't want to try and slip some water in. -
Shellfish Anyone

Vitamins can be expensive and you need the good ones. They are not regulated by the government so you have to spend more to get the good ones. The high quality protein costs too. You are going to have to replace clothes as you lose, etc. -

Using Syntrax Nectar question
OutsideMatchInside replied to StephBtoo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I like that it is Water like so I can drink it easily, so I only mix mine with water and I use 6 oz of water for a scoop. I drink the Cappuccino in the morning or at night. I have another brand of Protein with BCAA that I drink after workouts. I used to use 8oz of water but it takes too long to drink. I purchase my Syntrax at a local store called Supplement Superstore. They have the best prices. $29.99 for the 2.2 lb sizes. vitacost has the next best prices at 32.49.
