I am considering signing up on Match when I get serious about dating in a year or 2. How many men in their 40s with no kids are there?

Long Term Success 3 Years and More Post-op and Combating Food Addiction
OutsideMatchInside replied to dafurrer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
If this is how you feel, then you nee to work on your food addiction before surgery. You can't stretch your stomach back to the previous size. You can however eat all day if you are dedicated enough. Try finding a local Overeaters Anonymous and working with that and a therapist so you have your mental and emotional issues in check before surgery. -
My holy grail product for DRY skin!
OutsideMatchInside replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had one for years at the recommendation of my former esthetician and because I loved what my Sonicare has done for my teeth. I thought it was great, except my skin kept breaking out. I replaced the bush heads every 45 days (germ freak) and cleaned them daily with alcohol. They are rough on your face and I tried every single brush they made, including the sensitive skin one. My skin wasn't getting better. Clarisonic pays for a lot of product placement (most brands do), and they are very aggressive with it. It is beneficial to Sephora, and Ulta to push the Clarisonic with the brush costs, it is beneficial to them. I switched to the Foreo over a year ago. My skin improved immediately. It is soft and gentle on the face, more hygienic and no brushes to replace. A Foreo will pay for itself in the first year just off what Clarisonic brushes cost in a year. The only thing I use my Clarisonic for is exfoliation my elbows and knees, since I couldn't sell it on eBay. -
My holy grail product for DRY skin!
OutsideMatchInside replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If people have skin concerns, go to a dermatologist. They can make suggestions, give you products and they have samples of almost everything. I always leave with a bag of goodies. It is just a specialist co-pay and if you have already met your out of pocket for the year it is free. This is the perfect time of year to book and appointment. Also, oils are not moisturizers. They just seal moisture. If you put oil on while your skin is still wet, they will seal the moisture in. If you have dry skin you need to moisturize with something that has Water based. Layering a body oil on wet skin then a moisturizing lotion is good for dry skin, especially in the winter. -
My holy grail product for DRY skin!
OutsideMatchInside replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
CeraVe is what my dermatologist recommended, it is what most derms recommend. A strong TCA peel will make your skin look tighter, but you are going to need a professional one from an esthetician in a dermatologists office, something over 18%. Clarisionics are really harsh on your face, the brushes have to be replaced and sanitized everyday. I switched from Clarisonic to Foreo Luna and my skin is much happier for it. It is gentle, has different speeds, and you can use it twice a day. It also has nothing that needs to be replaced and the charge lasts 6 months. -
Long term "Success" of those who make it to goal vs. those that don't.
OutsideMatchInside replied to JamieLogical's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is really hard to tell from forum post. There are as many people that hit goal or better and never come back to forums, they have a new life and never post. There are just as many people that never hit goal or even close and never post because they feel they have failed. The people that keep posting long term regardless of results are the minority. -
:How do you get your high protein?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Tracytma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't like beans or yogurt, so I mostly eat fish. I can't eat enough eggs, to make them worthwhile. I try to make sure I have 20g of protein per meal. I eat 4 times a day, protein first. Usually a fish fillet. I have no hunger so sometimes I get busy and forget to eat. If it is near the end of the day and I am short on protein, I have a shake, but those days are rare. -
How invested are you in the idea of healthy weight loss?
OutsideMatchInside replied to skinnyrita's topic in Food and Nutrition
This is an interesting topic. First, everyone isn't in the same frame of mind. Some people just want to lose by any means necessary. Other people find it to hard to give up the social aspects of eating. Telling people to eat clean and cook for themselves seems to be something that is hard for a lot of people to accept. Recently there was a thread created by someone 2 weeks out from surgery looking for things to eat. Someone suggested wendy's chili. I said that eating fast good right after surgery isn't a good choice. Someone commented that if they are eating out with their kids, they want to eat something. Okay, Wendy's has salad. No one is going to care if you order iced tea and eat a Protein bar while you kids eat. There are a lot of better choices. It didn't go over well, and I admit I lack in the tender delivery area. Then there was the ice cream milk shake post surgery thread, that people got huffy in because people dared to say that having ice cream while on the liquids stage isn't a good idea. Everyone is different and has different ideas about what is healthy, even the medical community is split on it. You can't save everyone, some people are just going to drown in their own ignorance. Everyone also has different needs, cultural backgrounds, medical advice, and social issues. People have to find what works for them. There is never going to be a consensus on what healthy is. Just worry about your self and don't try to be the WLS Messiah to the masses. -
Love after sleeved. Question for my single sleevers
OutsideMatchInside replied to LMolina1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm definitely planning and research for plastics. Vacations are a big part of dating for me, and I want to look good at the beach. You are a guy to toning up should be easier, but if you have loose skin, and you are dating the gay community,I would plan on plastics to fix it. I'm not sure what your age is how, but if you have been heavy all your life, plastics will probably be the only thing to fix it. I mean you can find someone that loves you for you, but lets face it. Men are visual and you need a pleasing package to attract a man. You already know what the standards are in your community, so just plan on working out as hard as possible and building as much muscle as possible, and getting surgery to fix the spots that need it, arms, chest etc. -
The STRICT ones in first year......
OutsideMatchInside replied to Lexuskela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I respond best to this type of diet, also. If I was a little more disciplined, I would follow it even more strictly. My body also responds very well and so does my brain, I am far more alert as a ketoer. You have to play to keep your macros in line. I usually sit in my food logging app and add up different things before I eat them to make sure my macros are right. My weight loss has really increased since I started keto again, before it was dragging along barely moving. Low carb and low fat is hard if not impossible to do. -
Multi chewable vitamin
OutsideMatchInside replied to mlsuarez's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They are huge horse pills! They break up/apart easy. So I just hold them in my mouth and drink Water, and they melt away pretty fast, and I don't taste that much of them. The Iron pills are what annoy me, they are too sweet. The multi is the best of the bunch. While these pills are annoying, the Bariactiv pills have the lowest calories and carbs of any chewables I have looked at and they are practitioner grade. So even for their annoyance, they are very good quality. -

Keto is a little different than just low carb high protein because you are keeping a balanced ratio of fats, carbs and protein. The balance works better than a low fat or a low carb diet. -

Not really, there are a lots of men married to terrible women. They deserve better, some of them wake up and finally make it happen.

I never knew one person in my apartment apartment complex until I got a dog, now I know someone in almost every building.

They aren't looking to date, they are content with their lives. You get a dog because you are looking to meet people. Dogs are the best ice breakers. A cat chick is in the house with her bottle of Trader Joe's wine and a bowl of popcorn.

Elevated Liver Enzymes
OutsideMatchInside replied to pinkbunies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@pinkbunies If your doctor isn't a fan of weight loss surgery, find a new one. You are going to have nothing but issues with this doctor forever. Everything he tells you is going to be tainted by the fact you had surgery and he isn't a fan of it. The fact he told you he isn't a fan is sign enough. -
They seemed sane...Dating horror stories
OutsideMatchInside replied to OKCPirate's topic in Singles Forum
I have been on one date since I have moved to the sorta south. I talked to this guy online for a week he lives near by so he wanted to meet for a drink. We meet and as we are walking through the parking lot into the bar, he starts mimicking how I talk and commenting on how the term I am going to use here is proper I talk. Good to know the college education paid off. I should have turned around then and went back to my car but no, I went in anyway. The conversation only went down hill. I said I wasn't interested in having children, he asked if I was infertile. No, quite the opposite I just have better things to do. I haven't been on a date since. Unless I find some amazing transplant guy that moved here from some place civilized I doubt I'm dating until I move again. -
High Protein Pasta
OutsideMatchInside replied to marypups's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The zucchini noodles are soo good, I really wish I tried them sooner. I am not a Pasta person at all, unless it is fresh hand made pasta. So it isn't something I crave. Still I feel like black Beans are going to have a hard time filling the slot for anyone. -
Hello Fall! Does anyone have any goals, NSV's especially for fall?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There are some good ones here. I can't really think of a NSV for the fall and I have been trying. I have knee high and thigh boots that will be too large pretty soon, but I won't be at goal this fall to buy new ones. I feel like being not so far out from surgery winter is mainly going to suck with all my clothes/boots being too big. -
