    African American vsgers!

In the beginning I was barely losing, then after 6 weeks it sped up, then after 10 weeks it really sped up. I have lost the most weight in the 3rd and 4th month after surgery. Don't be discouraged, different bodies have different set points and lose at different paces. It wasn't until I got past a number that I hadn't been able to get past on my own in the past 10 years, that my weight really just started to fall off. Just follow your program.
  3. I purchased another pair of new jeans today! I have lost 30lbs in the past 6 weeks and the last pair are all baggy in the legs, gaped at the waist and baggy in the butt.

I just wore leggings today because of the "baggy butt" thing. I feel like a kid with a load in a dirty diaper.

Yes, unfortunately that baggy butt thing gets worse the more weight you lose. I purchased a lot of yoga pants for that very reason.

    Facial Creams

I would suggest going to a dermatologist. As @@liannatx said, Retinols do work. Your skin will turn over faster and repair itself. If you are going to get something over the counter get something high quality. I suggest http://www.makeupartistschoice.com/Retinol_c_238.html If you have already met your out of pocket for the year, really try to get into a Derm before the end of the year, they have some amazing creams. A TCA Peel will help. If you are not familiar or comfortable doing your own (which I don't suggest if you are new to it), find a professional. You have to plan for it because your whole face is going to peel and you need to stay out the sun but the results are well amazing. Mircoderm abrasion also can help. Go to a professional and get a series. The cheapest help I can think of would be http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/studio-35-beauty-alpha-hydroxy-face-cream/ID=prod6111663-product

    High protein drink, low sweetness

When I was tired of shakes and sweet stuff. I added unflavored powder to lamb broth, it is the only broth with a decent flavor. I know that isn't probably much better than soups to you, but it is about the only solution I can think of. Unless you want to experiment with some Syntrax nectars, but they are sweet. The cappucino is a nice change of pace.

@@Elode Are you seriously fat shaming your own family members on a forum just to prop yourself up? That is tacky as hell.

Seeing large amounts of food make me feel sick

I wonder if you are looking at the food, becoming hungry and creating excess acid in your stomach and that is making you physically ill.
  11. @@LipstickLady I hate for my food to touch also. It makes it so easy to limit eating at the holidays or holiday parties. I won't pile my plate up because if it touches I won't eat it. I'm going to eat whatever I want. I really don't eat a lot and the further I am getting from surgery the lower my interest in food is, to the point I have to really make sure I get my calories and nutrients in. I don't work in an office. I don't like chocolate. I hate pumpkin pie. I hate sweet potato pie. The holidays should be a cake walk really. Day to day is a bigger struggle.

    Sautéed spinach/zucchini noodles

Zoodles rock, and they have enough Water content they are easy to eat. I sauté them in a pan with a little ghee and crushed garlic.

Seeing large amounts of food make me feel sick

I don't care about other people at all, ever really. I really don't want to be one of those former fat people that is a raging asshole. Former fat people are the meanest people to fat people and I want to avoid that at all costs.

    For the physically active sleevers...

Well I cheated and got a dog a month after surgery so I had to walk. We walk about 2 miles or so a day, and then I do more on my own. Walking with my dog takes it from exercise to activity. He has to be walked, he deserves to be walked, he needs to be walked it has nothing to do with me. I quit going to the gym because it was slowing my weight loss. The weather is changing and I will have to go back. When I go back I am going to do what I like, weights, and maybe a little on the elliptical. I can do an hour on the elliptical but it seems to stress my body out, so I am going to have to experiment with it. I think the key is being more active in general, and making it a part of your life instead of a task. I live near a lot of cool trails, so I walk the trails. I go to the mall and before I shop I walk 2 rounds around the mall, then shop, then I walk around one maybe 2 more times when I am done shopping. When I go to Walmart I purposely cross the whole store several times. This adds up to a ton of extra steps. If you do it all the time it racks up really high over a week.

    Thanksgiving and you

I will probably treat it like how I treat date night/days. I have liquids to balance the calories of the meal. I will eat "normal" and just a little. How I cook will be a little different since it will be sugar free, but dressing is dressing. I can't cut too many corners on that, plus I have a man trap to set. I have to watch the tasting why I cook so I don't get in too many extra calories.

    Carbonated diet caffeine free drinks?!

If you must drink soda, at least get the stevia sweetened stuff from higher end grocery stores or health food stores. That artificial sweetener is terrible for you. There are like 50,000 threads on soda here, just search.

    Lower medical costs following WLS

This research is exactly why companies like BCBS has dropped the diet requirements etc. They have realized it is cheaper to get people to surgery sooner rather than later. Long term it saves the whole health system money.

    Tiereeeeeed. Zzzzzzzzz

My Dr told me almost all of your energy is going to healing, you don't get more energy until 6 weeks. This is major surgery, even though it doesn't feel like it.It is a lot of trauma to your body.
  21. How old are you? Where is your acne? Chin? Between eyes? That can be hormonal acne. I take Spironolactone and it keeps my skin clear.

    Coffee?

Decaf coffee is on my week one list and alcohol is 3 months. Discuss it with your Doctor. If you are taking your B-12 fatigue shouldn't be an issue.
