    Side Dish Help

Zucchini or Cauliflower most of the time. really didn't get to the point to having room for them until almost 3 months out though. http://www.everydaymaven.com/2015/20-interesting-cauliflower-rice-recipes/ http://hurrythefoodup.com/zoodle-zucchini-pasta-recipes/

    Any Missouri people

Supplement Superstore is awesome. The guys they have on staff, at least at the 2 I go to know about surgery and make sure you get the right proteins. The ones in Missouri don't stock Syntrax that I have seen, while the Illinois stores carry the whole line. If you live in STL and you want the most variety and the lowest prices on Syntrax nectar, make the trip to the store in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville. $27.99

    You CAN lose too much

I live in the midwest there aren't a lot of really thin people, it doesn't take a lot to be consider thin. Alabama is the 2nd fattest state in the country, only surpassed by Mississippi. Those are facts not my opinion. We are so used to people being over weight that people forget what thin/healthy looks likes.

    You CAN lose too much

I'm sure 105 is pretty rare in Alabama, but if you were on either coast no one would care. You are going to bounce up a little at some point. i would take other people suggestions here and add maybe a Protein shake and some healthy fats like nuts or avocado.
  5. Cronometer is great for recipes, it is really the best there is as far as details. I used it for making recipes and getting the nutritional label for them. Love it.

    What can you eat

I'm 6 months and I can eat everything. Some things I have only had one bite of just to taste them. I really find that I am just not interested in food like I was in the past.

    Almost 10 years later

@@AdecadeLater Oh I totally believe that people don't lose restriction. The problem is there is a common theme around here that people lose restriction, but if enough questions are asked, they are grazing and/or eating slider foods. Now that I am healed, I have "less" restriction but it isn't really less restriction, I am just healed at this point. I still have the same or the necessary amount of restriction, except if I don't watch it I can eat more just because the discomfort from eating more is not as "intense", not because the restriction isn't there, it is just easier to ignore. So I really appreciate you posting your experience and saying that 10 years out still have restriction and that you are still careful eating. I think that is the key to success right there, still paying attention. So again, thanks.

    Drinking

I was told 3 months. I think around 3.5 months I had like 2 sips of wine. I went to a Christmas party and I had a drink that I took 2 sips of and just carried around all night. I gave up alcohol long before surgery, and it just doesn't interest me. I will fake it though in social settings. I also really don't like the warm feeling of alcohol in my stomach, as soon as I take a sip my stomach is on simmer, no thanks.

    Almost 10 years later

Thank you so much for posting this. We are the same height. If I could hit 200 and stay there for years, I would be happy with it. Thanks for giving me hope it can happen, and also posting your honest experience of how eating is going for you. It is good to know 10 years later, you still have restriction, even not being "perfect".

    Breakfast.

For years I have had a protein shake in the morning because I really don't have an appetite in the morning but you should have something. So I just have a protein shake for breakfast. I like it now because it keeps my calories low, kicks me off with some protein for the day. Then later if I change my plans or go out to eat, I already started the day off saving calories and carbs.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

Dr Now is not a plastic surgeon and he is old. The other 2 doctors are just not very skilled. Every outcome on this show so far has been sub par. There are lots of good doctors, many of the skilled affordable ones are out of the US. Start researching on Real Self. The good doctors are already booked until 2017.

I was forced into the gastric sleeve.

Everyone that doesn't fill out their profile has a date of 1999. I wish that was turned off.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

Did anyone watch skin tight last week? I'm really not impressed with any of these procedures. They just remove skin they make no efforts or bad efforts at body sculpting. Seeing the complications afterward is educational.

    African American vsgers!

They really supply everything. I wore the same clothes home I wore to the hospital with the exception changing my panties. I was only in the clothes about 1.5 hours before surgery. Take as little as possible. The only thing I used that I brought along with me, was my phone and lip balm. They provided everything else for me. I didn't even need lip balm really. When I woke up my lips were dry and the recovery nurse put vaseline on them for me. I was only in the hospital about 26 hours.

    Obama Care options

I wish we could sticky this somewhere. People ask all the time. Indiana Healthcare exchange doesn't coverage bariatiric surgery because Indiana doesn't consider it essential. http://nofusa.org/news/health-insurance-cover-obesity-treatment/

    Bypass vs sleeve

I was posting from my phone last night so I could post as in depth as I would have liked. The first Gastretomy was performed in 1881 by Theodor Billroth. Removing part of the stomach for whatever purposes, cancer or ulcers is not a new surgery. It has been proven that people can live without part of their stomach or even their entire stomach for over a 100 years. Removing part of the stomach and doing so solely for the purpose of weight loss is newer, but the concept is not new at all. There is a long term proven safety in just removing part or all of the stomach.

    Grrrrrr!

If you are going to a dermatologist you don't want one with bad skin. Most people don't know the questions to ask. Or have standards for doctors. I avoid certain schools and residency programs, but you aren't going to get people to pay attention. Sorry about your Dad. People should be careful, but they just assume all doctors are Gods and all doctors think they are Gods. This is what a crappy education system gets you.

please share the microwave in a cup protein recipe

I know they aren't live but microwaves aren't know for maintaining the integrity of food.

What does hunger feel like now?

If you are eating right you should never be hungry. You should be eating just your measured portion then after waiting drinking water till the next meal. If you drink fluid between meals you will never feel hungry. Your stomach will always fill full and acid won't have time to build up.

    Bypass vs sleeve

Cutting off the stomach and calling it something different for fat people doesn't make it a new invention. That is like saying taking asprin for your heart instead of for a fever is a new invention. It is just different marketing. This is an old surgery repurposed.

    Ladies please

You might still have cravings if they are mental. There are lots of low carb options to solve your cravings. Protein shakes come in a lot of flavors. You might find that you don't have them at all. Surgery kind of detaches you from food.
