Denied for lack of effort?
OutsideMatchInside replied to craftygal77's topic in Insurance & Financing
These insurance requirements are ridiculous. When people lose too much pre-op, then they deny them. What a hornets nest. -
Ok, bit the bullet and ordered the book
OutsideMatchInside replied to CowgirlJane's topic in The Lounge
The book is terrible. Steve Harvey uses his relationship with Marjorie as the blueprint, totally glossing over she was holding on out giving him the "cookie" to get him to leave his current wife at the time. The book also revolves around the premise that men don't have a lot of dating options and that is flat out not true. Even though you are older than me and this book and the advice would apply more to people in your age range, it doesn't. It is totally outdated. The fact that men can date on the internet changes everything. Even the old and not that cute or financial stable men have options far beyond whatever they would have had in the past, that makes it harder to get them to act in any sort of normal predictable fashion. Which you already know based on what you have posted about dating guys on this site. I would say never go dutch until you are in a serious relationship and you need to make things fair and balanced. In the beginning you can learn a lot about a man by what kind of date he takes you, how he pays, how he tips, and how he feels about you never finishing your food (learned that the hard way). If you are dating 3-5 people at a time. I used to do it a lot when I was in my 20s and I dated a lot, they weed themselves out. You don't usually have that many ball in the air in the same week. Someone is going to eliminate themselves this week, and someone else is going to rise in the rankings and you might meet someone new that week. It doesn't take a lot of time from a female point of view because most men, especially the ones you meet online are full of it. Keep the text light basic and simple and move it to meeting in person ASAP. This helps weed out the married ones, the fakes, and the ones just looking for penpals, and lastly the cheap ones. If you are meeting them online the first "date" is going to be coffee, that doesn't take long. At most you have probably 2 guys to go on dates with in any given week. One you are going to like more or click with more and that will be a long date, the other one will be short, you lower the shorter dates ranking in the rotation, or never see them again and look for a replacement. If a guy is willing to see you on a Saturday night, that can mean something. Saturday night is the bigger party/going out night. If a guy is out and on the prowl, they are less likely to give up a Saturday night for date, when they can use Saturday night for more prospects. It is a huge time sink even if you date like you are creating a fantasy football team. I decided to chill on actively seeking someone until I get past goal. If I meet someone on accident that is fine, but I don't have the time to dedicate to weeding through men looking for a unicorn. -
What's your favorite chicken salad recipe?
OutsideMatchInside replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Any chicken salad recipe you have can be greatly improved with fresh baked chicken breasts or a rotisserie chicken. The taste is completely different. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/chicken-salad-veronique-recipe.html Replace the mayo with Walden Farms mayo few grapes, cut in 1/4s not in halves. -
Can you see a difference ?
OutsideMatchInside replied to scarlep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
actually first and second i lost 44 , and you can totally see a difference , why would I get new clothes I feel like you can see a difference wearing the same outfit before and after, your comment was a bit rude!!You posted a picture with no comments. I thought you were asking if you could tell the difference because you couldn't. That is usually what people mean when they ask if we can see the difference, because they can't see it. -

Can you see a difference ?

Between the first and the 2nd picture you lost 40lbs but had the same pants on. You will never see the difference if you keep wearing the same clothes. Get NEW clothes. -
Why gastric sleeve and not gastric bypass?
OutsideMatchInside replied to cherhope's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is a good thread on the topic, with lots of answers. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/360332-what-made-you-choose-this-surgery-vs-others/page-3?hl=sleeve+bypass#entry4078075 like @@betterlife7 I felt the sleeve was less risky, more straight forward, made more sense and had a better recovery time. In the end you have more control over your weight loss with the sleeve than with the bypass. It is a personal choice, so you need to go on what your Docotor says and what is comfortable for you. The weight loss difference between surgeries is not that different. http://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-bypass/how-much-can-i-expect-to-lose -
I still spend time with, my friends. They do not know I had surgery. They do not see anything different really about how I eat. They know I am cutting back, that's it. I don't really have relationships based on foods. I do think I will have a problem with one friend. The last time we were together I was still bigger than her. I think by the next time I see her I will be smaller than her. She has been supportive of my weight loss so far but the next time we go shopping. I doubt I will be wearing plus size. She is going to flip out. I was the fat friend that made her feel slim. Those days are over.

Any NJ lawyers who understands the Sleeve
OutsideMatchInside replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No lawyer worth anything is going to talk to you over the Internet. If you are thinking about medical malpractice, then find an attorney that specializes in that in your area. They don't have to be a Dr to sue the hell out of one. -
Vitamins after surgery
OutsideMatchInside replied to Jasb88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said the reason they don't have you take them the first 2 weeks is because people are struggling with getting fluids in and some are struggling with nausea. If you are not struggling, you can take them sooner. I started mine the day I came home. -
Is it normal for weight loss to slow down

When you don't lose weight you usually lose inches, so start measuring. -
ROFLMAO at new "dating" site -- www.cougarlife.com

People Understanding
OutsideMatchInside replied to Hannahb3997's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Why does it matter? No one can understand what it is to be like you. Even if they are the same height and weight. You can't look for validation and acceptance from other people because you will always be let down. You know what it is like to be you, that should be all that matters. You need to work on your self consciousness on your own. As you lose weight it will only get worse not better. Not being comfortable with yourself will only make your weight loss harder. -
I have followed her since before I had surgery. Her videos about surgery early on helped me. Now what she talks more about her life and not surgery, I am not as interested as I was. Anyway, I think people get bogged down in certain aspects of who they are and blame all their problems on it. I have s ok many standard deviations that I could blame problems on. Fat Nerd Geek Black Curly hair Odd family makeup And the list goes on. In the end everyone has the same issues for the most part regardless, some people just can't see past themselves to realize it. It's like women who think they can't find or keep a decent man because they are fat. Okay, what is Halle Berry's excuse then? Beautiful thin women have the same problems that fat women have. People look for excuses to their problems instead of accepting their reality.

The best crackers to me are cucumber slices. The Quest chips would be okay. I have some. They good for like 5 chips then they are not that tastey.

He sounds married as hell. There are so many married dudes on dating sites, the middle aged ones who are just trying to see if they can still pull women. It is vast and pathetic. On the bright side he didn't dump you, you didn't have a relationship. Never date one guy at a time, date 3 to 5 at a time and make them compete for your attention and affections. This way you don't get attached to one guy, you maximize your time, and the cream rises to the top. Accelerated natural selection. If you have a deep bench, you can easily replace a damaged starter.

Make sure you think something positive right before they put you out. That is the thought you will wake up with. No time passes for you, you close your eyes then you open them. Think positive, it really helps. -
Spices, Seasonings, Herbs, and Condiments
OutsideMatchInside replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Food and Nutrition
Lemon garlic and garlic lovers are my favorite. They are perfect for baked fish and chicken. They are worth the price, the quality is like nothing you can buy in stores. The containers are also huge, they are really cheaper than store spices. If you are going to get just one garlic lovers is the most versatile. Lemon garlic is the best for seafood. It transforms baked fish and sautéed shrimp. -

Bra math - don't try this at home.
OutsideMatchInside replied to Sharon1964's topic in The Gals' Room
