    Pizza

Yeah I have been reading weight loss forums for almost 10 years and have never heard this story, ever. Or seen doctors talk about it, even when they tell their scare tactic stories. Stomach acid is way to strong for bread/dough to stick in the stomach long enough to prep for surgery. A real thin crust pizza will act like crackers in your stomach, so you have to be careful because you can eat a lot of it. Palermos is a good example of a pizza with a super thin crisp crust.
  2. You don't have to exercise to lose weight. You have to just take in fewer calories than you burn. At first, you lose weight faster not exercising, because you can intake enough calories to offset the natural deficit plus the additional deficit you make by exercising. When people get closer to goal and can eat more working out is more critical.

    NSV shout outs

Moved my car seat up again. I have pretty long legs but it seems like I am moving me seat up every 2 weeks!
  4. Was it just straight tuna or was it tuna with Mayo? Did you eat it in 20 minutes or less? Just because you can eat more doesn't mean you should. You shouldn't even know you can have 4 ounces of tuna at 3 weeks because you shouldn't be trying it. Tuna is pretty hard to process. When I started on food I ate the recommended serving amounts, 2 ounces at a time, like my plan stated. There is no point in stressing your staple line. Also all those nerves in that area aren't even reconnected. Be careful.
  5. When you read how low the qualifications to be one is, it all makes sense.

    July Sleever

I have been stalled for two weeks. I am not worried about. I dropped a lot of inches, i know the weight is coming. My body adjusts to a weight, sits there and then more pounds fall off. This is like a 6 week cycle. If i go 3 more weeks then i will worry and go back to liquids until i lose again. I wish more July sleevers would post so we can all compare notes.
  7. You are not a slow loser. You start at 262, you are not going to lose 50 pounds in a month. I lost about the same as you and I started 100lbs heavier. You probably could use more Protein, 60 is the minimu, 80 or 90 would be a better goal. Your weight loss isn't slow though, that NUT is an idiot. There is nothing wrong with Protein shakes as long as you get high quality. @@Kindle is totally right. Do not be so hard on yourself

    Post-Op Exercise Plans?

I walk, do yoga and lift weights. I love Orange Fitess and really want to do it 3 times a week, but it is too far away, 45 minutes one way. My preference would be to swim laps, but their are no good pools in my area. I plan on buying a bike in the next couple of weeks and add bike riding in. I try not to make my workouts too intense. They stress my body and cause me to hold weight. I also find high intensity makes me ravenously hungry in the past. I hate posting in fitness threads as much as stall tgreads and what to eat threads. Everyone has different ideas and too much bro science comes up.

Ok, bit the bullet and ordered the book

There are far too many guys in their 40s and 50s with small children. I like to date older but older men are kind of a bust. I want someone with freedom that can travel. I do not want children and a lot of guys my age do. I do not look late 30s, so lots of men in their mid 20s approach me. I never thought I would entertain them, but it looks like I'm headed to Cougar town. :-(
  10. I don't really trust the BMI of a scale or whatever. I get DEXA scans to track my fat percentage. Since I know from my first DEXA scan my bones are insanely dense, anything a scale tells me is going to be off. So I just wanted a scale that was accurate, really accurate, on hard wood floors that might not be even, all the time. I purchased http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Bathroom-Capacity-Technology/dp/B001KXZ808 I am still debating buying a more expensive scale that will auto update to an app. I decided for now, It isn't worth the extra $80-100 for that feature when I can just type it in when I am tracking my food in an app every day anyway. It takes 2 seconds and I get BMI information there if I want it. I'd rather spend the money on new clothes.

It amazes me that he has so many female fans considering how he treated his ex wife. He should be tarred and feathered.

    Cardiac Clearance?

I had my surgery within 8 weeks of meeting my bariatric surgeon the first time. I had met with the cardiologist before I even met with my Dr. The whole heart drama is what pushed me to surgery. Keep us updated.

    Cardiac Clearance?

If you get the tests the same day, the Dr has to have time to read the tests that day. Techs usually perform tests and the doctors read the test at their leisure. Does this cardiologist understand your urgency?

    Cardiac Clearance?

I had an abnormal EKG, then an abnormal echo, then an abnormal stress test, then I had a cardiac cath. My heart is fine, it just beats different which I already knew. Anyway. It took a month. I doubt the cardiologist is going to sign off you having surgery just by giving you an exam, they are going to want more tests. Good luck.
  15. Try unflavored Protein powder in broth. Also what kind of protein shake are you having? You need something thin, like Syntrax nectar or premier ready made. You don't want to make your shakes in a blender because it will add in air and make the shakes to thick. Just use a shaker bottle. Thin them out and sip on them I had Protein Shakes in the hospital, I had to be able to drink at least 1/2 to be able to be released. I had protein shakes from day one. As a male is important to get your protein in so you don't lose muscle, it is important for everyone really. The less muscle you have the less muscle you have to help you burn fat.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

There is really nothing wrong with potatoes and rice. Most of the world eats them. The issue is preparation and quantity. High fructose corn syrup is a bigger issue than potatoes and rice.

GP says to do Weight Watchers instead

If I take my car to a mechanic and he says he doesn't know about BMWs. I take it to the dealership. Unless you live some place with one doctor I don't see the point I educating a doctor. Information is readily available. If they wanted to know they would. I'm not going to educate a professional and pay them for their services also. What am I paying for?

@@CowgirlJane I think a lot of people are like that. That is how they get trapped in serial monogamy. The thing is once you get to a certain age, and you are looking for someone to have children with you don't have that time luxury, to date one buy for a few weeks to find out he isn't the right guy. I also think there is some disconnect on how we are talking because lets face it, meeting strangers, most of them don't make it past that first coffee date. Fewer make it past the 2nd date and so on. So even if you are texting and talking for 3 or 4 guys at a time. you might only get to date 2 with one of them. For women that zero in on one guy early on, the advice that most books have is to date more than one guy. But what qualifies as date now is more like talk to interact with. Dating now involves a lot of texting. *sigh* I'm not looking for marriage or someone to have babies with. I am just looking for a travel and activity partner with a bit of culture. My requirements kind of narrow my pool of men to choose from. I can't afford to text. go on a few casual dates with one guy at a time. What I am looking for is pretty rare in the age range I am looking for and I have to maximize results. I still think the whole dating thing is different with technology. When I was in college, you went out with someone, then that was your boyfriend. It was easy. Grown up life is complicated.

Do you really think that would be well received from a Doctor? Most of them have egos bigger than Texas.

GP says to do Weight Watchers instead

I mean they are supposed to do their own continuing education like any other professional. I don't think a patient should have to educate them. Obesity is an epidemic in the US. They should be researching what they can do to help their patients. If they aren't keeping up to date on some general things in their field how can you trust them? I don't code but I keep up on code for my career. If you are a serious professional you keep up to date on your profession. The bottom 10% of the class become Doctors just like the top 10%. Don't fix them, replace them.

Get a new doctor. It isn't like there is a shortage of GPs. I do however agree about getting your food under control. You can easily eat around your sleeve if you don't have your mental food issues worked out. If you read here enough you will find lots of people that are doing great at just that. Most programs and insurance force people into diets anyway. When I told my PCP, I wanted WLS. He told me there was a waiting list for it? I was like what? His nurse acted like it was a huge deal to find a referral for me and told me there was a waiting list. I never did get a referral from them. I got a suggestion from a friend of a friend and went to a seminar with the program I selected on my own. I did all the leg work myself and he signed what I asked him to sign. He was supportive but clueless about the process. I have a new doctor now.

What's your favorite chicken salad recipe?

I added a touch of red curry to my normal chicken salad. What a delicious, exciting little kick. I love the curry chicken salad at whole foods but it is full of sugar. This recipe will get me right through summer. Thanks for the idea.
