    Struggling!

Are you seeing someone for your depression? Someone you can talk to? You might want to tell them how you are feeling and increase your appointments and you might need your medicine adjusted. Not eating your feelings, and learning to feel all your feelings is tough. It is even harder right after surgery when your hormones are all out of whack. Make sure you seek some help, before things get out of control.
  2. Pre-op I had this issue. Post-op, I guess my body had adjusted to starvation that I was okay. Still post op until about 6 weeks when I could eat more, I only had energy in bursts.

Ok, bit the bullet and ordered the book

I totally agree on therapists telling people to get out there and date. Is this a money making ploy? Send messed up people out into the world to mess up other people and maybe they come to you or a colleague? It seems so unprofessional and just bad advice. Dating is stressful for anyone, even someone together, it is worse for people with other unresolved issues. Why put more on their plate? I don't want to be involved in rehabbing some man. I already saved a dog, I have done my part for the universe. @@CowgirlJane Sounds like you were dating a Dexter in training.

@@OKCPirate Oh I'm not playing victim, and I am not bitter, bored mostly. I am not playing innocent at all. I have specific needs and desires and I am not willing to compromise. I just thought older men would be more together, and I am finding too many men that are in mid life crisis. There is nothing wrong with being in a mid life crisis or a bad place in your life. Just be self aware enough not to push that crap onto other people. Most of these guys don't get far with me, I can weed them out usually before even meeting them. I realized I was expecting to much to think that people who are trying to date are in a healthy mental place before making a dating profile. This is why I stopped trying to meet new people for now. I don't have the time or energy weed through people and try ad gauge their true intentions. Time is precious and my free time right now is better spent focusing on making it to my WL goal. We are women talking about dating men, and dating them online and how to screen them. I don't know what it is like to be a man and date online, I only know what is like from a female perspective. There is some guy that posts on here about dating women when he is still married as hell and he gets less kick back than you just gave me.

Approval: Healthcare Exchange Plan - BCBSIL

You don't have listed that you saw a nutritionist on you post from January. Did that happen afterward? My BMI was high and I had 2 co-morbidities. At 35 BMI they might make you do more but on my plan, they didn't have BMI qualifications the qualifications were really vague, even my Dr office said they were vague.

Laying on the pillows is going to attract perverts. It is a cute picture though. Yeah a little skin goes way to far in profiles Skin = want to bone in online dating.

To tell or not to tell?

I told my close friends, but they all live out of state, and don't know each other. I am single, I live own and I work for myself with no real co-workers. I live in area where I don't know anyone. It is easy for me not to tell anyone because I don't have anyone to tell or anyone that really needs to know. I don't have nosey co-workers. All my neighbors see me walking, all the time. I think it would be hard to keep it a secret in an office of nosey co-workers. I read all of the negative things that people are told on here, and honestly the people that have the great positive experiences telling the world, do not balance out with the people that have bad experiences. I would keep it to myself and I woulld advise anyone having surgery to keep it to themselves. 7 months out I am really glad I didn't tell people. At this point I hardly feel like I had surgery, I just feel like I had a lifestyle change. I would be really annoyed to be forced to talk about my sleeve all the time because people know about it. I once worked with someone who had gastric bypass and even though she was 5 years out, people would still ask her about it at work all the time, especially if we were dining out as a group. 5 years from now I seriously doubt I will want to answer questions about weight loss surgery. I'm not interested in answering those questions now (besides forums obvs)

Yeah I basically thought I could cheat and weed out a lot of drama by dating older, which has always been my preference anyway. Dating guys in their 30s and 40s when you are in your 20s is a lot different than dating guys in their 40s and 50s when you are in your 30s. I'm old enough to see through the BS very quickly. Also in the past when I dated older men, they were men I through business connections, so they had to act with some decorum. Now with internet dating, you encounter a bunch of savages. Yes, they are online, validating their existance. Trying to see how many women they can pull and what quality they are. A lot are married, bored and have no intentions of divorcing or dating seriously. they want pen pals or just sex. Mainly it seems like a lot of men view online dating as an easy and free way to get sex. LOL Keep dreaming. I am finding younger men don't care about your age as long as you look good. As one told me, "No one would guess your age by looking at you, you look good". Also there is some appeal to dating an older woman that might not be looking for marriage and babies. I definitely am not interested in either, and that takes a lot of pressure off for some guys. It is a hard knock life out here in the dating world. Still when I read most peoples posts about being married, I am very happy to be single.

    Funny biz travel moment

@@SeahawksFan The real Chicago pizza story is thin crust, not deep dish. If you have time try to get some thin crust. Shrimp and sausage is awesome. Yeah I find that restaurants are really worried when you don't clean your plate. It makes me feel guilty. It was delicious I swear, I just wanted a little.

It is basically like have a 2nd job that costs you money instead of earning it. It is a huge time sink, I keep thinking in the time I waste on dating I could start another company. @@FinallyFit50s I have met some guys in their late 20s that have good careers, Masters degrees, have disposable income and are willing to travel. All I want is an intelligent companion. A lot of the men I encounter in their 40s and 50s are going through mid life crisis and they have the maturity level of 18 year olds. I think they are attracted to me because I look more like 30 than my actual age.

Help i might have hurt my Stimson

Please go to urgent care in your area if they are still open, you can be seen faster than the ER in most areas, or go in the morning. At the very least someone there can refer you to another Doctor that will help you. Like so many people have said, it is probably stomach acid, but you should be seen by someone.

    How long before you 'cheated'?

Well the great thing about a lifestyle change is there is no cheating. I cook a lot, so I have healthy low carb replacements for almost everything. When I go out I make good choices. When I do get things that i want as a treat, I find I eat one bite. I caved on Fat Tuesday and ordered beignets. It was a waste of money I had a single bite, not even a good bite, and I lost interest. That is what I find with most things. A taste is enough and I don't want more. I dont eat sugar when I do have things with real sugar my taste buds freak out and I don't really find it a good taste. That is kind of weird but I gave up sugar 3 years before surgery, so this isn't a new change. Mainly I don't eat things because it is a waste of money and I can save that money and spend it on clothes.

How long was your hospital stay?

26 hours. I wanted out of there as fast as possible. I walked all night and the next day when I got my the okay to eat, I attacked it with all the gusto I could find, which wasn't much. i have to be able to get a decent amount of my tray down to leave. The other people that had surgery on my floor were in bed the whole time, they never got up and walked. They complained about their pain the whole time. I wouldn't have been able to sleep well anyway. I could have stayed another night if I wanted to but I pushed to get out ASAP. If you have kids, I would probably stay in the hospital longer, unless they will really let you rest at home. You need the rest, even though you feel good, it is still major surgery.
  19. If she she is talking about this calculator... http://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-bypass/how-much-can-i-expect-to-lose It is just an estimate on excess weight loss. It isn't the law. I think it is just useful for evaluating the differences between surgeries. People think that weight loss with bypass is massively more, when it really isn't. When you see the difference in print and think about the intestine reroute, I think it can help make a difference. When I read the OP, I was really hoping the OP came back with an update Anyway, that calculator says my expected weight loss is 225, but I am still 5 months short of a year, and I am within 40lbs of that that number, so I am sure I will blow right past it. Getting kind of excited because measurement/clothing wise I am going to end up much smaller than I thought at a higher weight.

    Premier Strawberry Cream Shake Problems

I think there are bad batches some of the time. Or they sit too long and degrade. I have had this issue now and then. I would toss them to be honest. I don't think it is fixable. I try to consume mine within a couple weeks of buying them.

    Must have pre-op shopping list

Find THIN Protein shakes and try those out. Don't get too much of anything, you don't know what you will like after surgery. I think that has less to do with changing taste buds and more to do with mood swings. Just do yourself and favor and find Protein Shakes you LIKE now, don't wait until you need them. Physical jobs and time off

i would say 6 weeks. You can't lift for usually the first month, and your energy levels are not going to be high enough to work a job like that until about 6 weeks. If your job can accommodate you with light duty then maybe.
