Almost everyone is using slave labor, even higher end designer brands like Chanel. The cost of making the clothes doesn't has as much to do with the cost that consumers pay for most things. The cost of items is based on if the business is volume revenue driven or not. You can make more money selling a lot of cheap shirts than a few expensive ones. There are very few exceptions to items being made with slave labor. Very very few. And a lot of them are just hiding it in their supply chain.

Stomach problems and other health issues after surgery
OutsideMatchInside replied to cloudyone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There is a lot to your story. Are you sure you have laryngitis and not acid issues in your throat? Do you take anything for GERD? You said you eat 5 ounces a day. 5 ounces of what? -
It really isn't the same thing though. I buy cheap clothes now because I can, but that doesn't mean that the larger stores are ripping me off. They have additional costs. The cost of plus size clothes is not just the extra material, it is extra shipping weight also. They need more space etc. Then a big difference between plus size clothes and regular sizes is the cut. The cut is something that takes research and skill. Once you become larger and distort the body, there is more effort that has to go into items to make them flatter a larger frame. The plus size clothes and the normal sized clothes at walmart are not cut the same, just like the juniors aren't cut like the misses. Then when you get into supply chains it gets even more complicated. A plus size store is going to have a limited supply chain, that services their sizes and their cuts. Regular sizes can all be made in the same factory and just have different labels slapped them. This goes to Walmart, this goes to target, this goes to old navy. The cut on clothes at Ashley Stewart is different from the cut at Avenue, which is different from the cut at Lane Bryant, which if different from the cut at Additionelle. Are they marking things up? Sure they are, they have a niche market. Are they ripping you off? Not really.

Study of Season 8 "Biggest Loser" Contestants re Weight Regain Causes
OutsideMatchInside replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think it would also be intersting to see DEXA scans for these people to see what their muscle mass is post losing weight. They do a lot of cardio and weight training but they lose so much weight so fast, with so few stalls I really wonder if they are increasing muscle mass and maintaining it. If you end up skinny fat, you won't have enough muscle to keep your RMR up. I also think excessive exercise does something to the body. You don't need to work out 6-8 hours a day to lose weight, and doing so put extreme stress on your body. -
Study of Season 8 "Biggest Loser" Contestants re Weight Regain Causes

At my local university it costs $50 and 30-60 most boring minutes of your life. You lay on a table and don't move, but you can't fall asleep which is really hard to do. I am due to have mine tested again along with another DEXA scan. When I last had mine tested 30 pounds ago, my rate was higher than the average for someone my height and weight. It will be interesting to see if it is still holding, and if my muscle mass is still higher than my fat mass. -

People who want privacy - what is or was your cover story?
OutsideMatchInside replied to Maggie Journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No people won't think you had surgery. Unless you hang out with a ton of fat people, surgery is not something that occurs to the average person. If you eat right, and workout people will think that is why you are losing weight. Only one person asked me if I had surgery and she was a large lady working at Torrid. No one that knows me thinks that, because I cook everyday. I make good choices when eating out and I live a very active life. If you have a personality, people are more interested in who you are what you have to say than your eating and weight loss. -

I run a business and work from home, so I don't have the workplace issues that other people have. As far as what to tell people during the 2 weeks. Tell them you are on a cleanse and about to start a low carb high Protein diet and you are wor king your way off sugar. No lies told. -
So the upside to being constantly constipated is, you don't have to worry about going #2 when you spend a weekend with a guy. There is a silver lining to every cloud.
-
@OutsideMatchInside - beware when the urge comes~~~~~~ I hate having that problem and I live with it too.
Carry some air freshener with you if you are going to spend the weekend with a guy.
You can claim its perfume when you walk out of the cloud of Tropical Breeze (aka air freshener) stepping out of the bathroom (exhaust fan kicking)!

For the person complaining about buying sports bras as a D cup, try it being a G cup. I have to get sports bras that are band and cup size. Not XL or 2x. They offer no support for running. They are okay for yoga. I have one from lane bryant and one glamouress. If you have larger breasts you need a bra that has high coverage in the front to prevent pop out. My sports bras come almost to my collar bone, with a sheer mesh to keep those girls in place. I'm spending $60 a pop on bras, but it's worth it. My silhouette looks great, curves for days. -
NSV shout outs
OutsideMatchInside replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have so many NSV to report. I fit comfortably on a plane this week, more than comfortable. I fit perfectly in a cheap seat on a cheap plane and a flight that was several hours was very comfortable. I used to fly 5-6 days a week in my old management job at over 300 pounds. I was always fine in first class but if I had to ride coach, or on a small plane it was torture. This is one of the main things I was looking forward to and it felt so good. This is something I can think about when temptation knocks. No food can ever feel better than the joy of flying to me. I can fit in any booth at any resturant. I think I have said it before but it is still important. I can walk up stairs in front of my date and not be winded when I get out the top and keep a great pace. Walked all day with my date. No foot pain, could keep walkng, and I did it 4 inch heels. Walked through the airport in 4 inch heels, felt good and kept pace with other people. Sat in the car with my seat belt on and lotioned, my legs easily and comfortably. Dropped the lotion and picked it up. Before I could have never bent over and easily done these things. It was effortless. In the past I would taken my seat belt off and not been able to bend straight over. My postoperative life is really amazing. I can't express how much joy three little victories bring me. They make it all worth it. Forgot something, was able to go not any store and buy a replacement. Went to a Soma store out of town, bought a bra, told the lady fitting me all about my surgery and how she might be able to afford it. -
Maybe Minera, hurts more? I dunno, I dont have that one. It wasn't comfortable, but the gas pain in my shoulder after the sleeve was worse. I'm glad you got it finally and are the other side. I think IUDs are the best invention

Plastics Before Hitting Goal
OutsideMatchInside replied to Indieflickers's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Many surgeons will work on bariatric patients that have lost over 100 lbs and are not at goal once your BMI is below 32.There are surgeons that operate on women who have never had WLS and are around 30 BMI, they aren't going to discriminate against WLS patients. -
@@Inner Surfer Girl that is a great accomplishment. I was in Target recently and I could fit the regular size suits and that had me pretty excited. I would have purchased one but none of them had the breast support I need. It felt great to fit everywhere else though.

Sleeve or Bypass
OutsideMatchInside replied to Jdubwife's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Jdubwife Like other said talk to your Dr. They will talk about your lifestyle and health with you and make the best choice from there. That being said. I had decided what I wanted before I met with a doctor and if a Doctor said the sleeve wasn't an option for me then I wasn't going to have surgery. -
Waist trainers.....what's the scoop?
OutsideMatchInside replied to sassyfrass23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@losergrl75 You can find good snapback tips in a lot of mom groups, the stripper groups have the best skin tips, but those groups aren't always easy to find or be in if you aren't a stripper . I have some black spa plastic wrap, it does help if you can wear it under stuff, but its so hard to put on myself and I rarely have anyone around to help me. You can just wrap yourself with Albolene and saran wrap but its better if you put something other the saran wrap because it will slip or roll. I have this http://www.amazon.com/Osmotic-Plastic-Cellulite-Burning-osmotica/dp/B014Q6PHAG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 a lot sites sell the same things for $25. It is slightly thicker than saran wrap, but I don't think it is a huge improvement. -
Saving Money?
OutsideMatchInside replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I live alone so yeah I saved a ton of food money in the first 6 months. After I was cleared to eat steak, I eat a lot of steak. I only eat grass fed meat, so that isn't cheap although you can find deals. I think a lot of people underestimate how much money they spend on food pre-op. If you add up all the coffee runs, Snacks, and large fast food meals, not just groceries, it is a ton. So even though I might spend a lot on clothes, I am still saving money. I spent a lot on clothes and a lot on food before. A ton on food, if I am being honest and counting groceries, starbucks, snacks out etc. My food bill even with all the "expensive" specialty or replacement things I use, is about 1/4 what it used to be. I also took "expensive" Vitamins before surgery and I used Protein shakes for Breakfast a lot, so those were already a part of my budget. -
How long did you sleep on your back?

OutsideMatchInside replied to vwlover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm the same. I was bitchy, egotistical and self centered before. Little has changed. People that hid behind being fat or let being fat rule their life change a lot I think, but if you have a full happy life before losing weight is just icing on the cake. -
How long did you sleep on your back?
OutsideMatchInside replied to SEVENTYSIXGIRL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept on my stomach on the 4th night. I rolled over in my sleep by accident, and it was the best thing that ever happened. I hadn't been sleeping much before then, and that was my first stretch of real sleep, and I felt 10x better in the morning. @@PayItForward Has a good idea with the binder, the binder will give you support. Now that I have lost weight I can sleep comfortably in any position. It is a weird and welcome side effect.
