Sleeved 4/13, had period since 6/8

When you drop a lot of fat, it dumps a lot of hormones into your body. I'm not really sure it's worth switching birth control for. My periods have been irregular for the first time in my life since surgery. They have balanced out and are getting better now. I mean if you are willing to take something hormonal that will completely stop your periods that would be a solution, but I wouldn't risk every thing that comes with hormones. I just let my body work through it.

Where did you read this? Most research shows that women with breast cancer have lower b-12 and B12 lowers your risk for breast cancer. B-12 is essential for many bodily functions. Don't just stop taking it ask your Dr. http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/vitamin-b12/evidence/hrb-20060243

    Ceased Spironolactone (diuretic)

When I first started taking it, it had a diuretic effect, but that pretty much disappeared after 6 months. I kind of want to give them up, because I think with my weight loss and the end of my diabetes I don't need them, but I don't want to risk any breakouts since any all break outs for me end in hyper-pigmentation.

I take it for my skin and they can pry it out my cold dead hands. I'll never give it up.

    Caffeine?

I have all the caffeine and coffee I want. I just make sure I don't load it up with calories. Try low acid coffee, cold brewed coffee is the best. And cold brewed is not the same as iced coffee

OR but they drugged me before so I was already chilled out. Xanax is the best.

    Social Eating

It is more about having something in your hand and mouth. Water can totally be that filler. The sooner people learn to love water as the easy way out of social eating the better.

    Food help!

I don't think Walmart sells any good Protein powders but I am sure someone will correct me. Are there any GNC, or supplement stores near you? You want something high quality and low in carbs but high in protein like Syntrax nectar. Do not advance to soft foods too early. There is no point ending up on a feeding tube.

    I messed up!

You should be okay, but this is something to think about going forward. You will be able to eat things like crackers easily after surgery, maybe easier than dense protein, and you need to think about ways to make sure you don't mindlessly eat them.

    Crab legs

@@Lizardlady Crab is one of the first things I had on soft foods. It can be dense and dry though, so be careful with it. Take very small bites and chew very thoroughly.

Protein2O: 60 calories 16g of Protein flavored Waters

Most of the other flavors are things I wouldn't drink since I don't like sweet tastes that much. I will see what others I can find at the store and test. I thought the tropical coconut was like Syntrax but better.

Help asap seeking information on foods

What’s Your Take on Summer Fruit?

I don't like sweets I have never been a big fruit eater. I do like strawberries but they only sell them by the pint, and I can only eat about 5 before they go bad. So no strawberries for me. If I can get a small amount of strawberries in a salad then I go for it but that is about it. And I don't eat frozen fruits because the carb counts are higher.
  20. @@KindaFamiliar It works but it has happened for me by accident. I haven't done it on purpose. It also helped me realize I just need to flat out increase my calories. This is why food diaries are so important, you can find the trends and the changes and learn how to apply them. I am too active to stick around 1000 or 1100 calories. I am in the 1400 a day range and the weight is still coming off, right now at about a pound a day. I realized I needed to increase my calories because I went on vacation and lost weight. Also I think carb cycling works really well if you are low carbing for an extended period of time. Not just any old carbs and a high carb day for me is 50 net carbs. I am usually in the 20-35 range of net carbs but if I let myself get a few more carbs in once every 2 weeks, it helps move things along. Good carbs, not trash food like crackers.

    African American Sleevers

@@MemphisWLS Also most insurance in TN doesn't cover WLS surgery so a lot of people from TN are going to Mexico for surgery. You are going to find fewer people that had surgery in TN. That doesn't say anything bad about your doctor. Plus you should ask in the general part of the forums. There are very few active African Americans that post in this thread.

    Still hungry

Are you taking anything for acid? Your nerves are not reconnected for you to be physically hungry right after surgery.
  24. @@lazylyn That isn't really any information for people to help you and we want to help you. How many grams of Protein per day? If you are logging your food, this is really easy to answer. What was your start weight? What is your current weight?
  25. @@jess9395 Unless you have access to yourself in a different time line or alternative universe, you have no idea if yoga didn't help you, because you have started doing it since 3 months. You would need your alternative self that never did it to make a comparison or come to the conclusion that it didn't help you. Just because your skin isn't tight as you would like doesn't mean you didn't benefit.
