    Tail bone pain

@@Djmohr just scared the hell out of me. I have noticed I have to be careful how I sit at my desk or my butt hurts, I mean aches after a little while. I attributed most of this to just sitting differently because I have so much room in the chair. This thread gives me a lot to think about.

Why do we have to wait?

@@Katie Loesch-Meyer If they all started at a lower BMI like you, it isn't a surprise they stopped at 6 months. Plus the first 6 months you are just healing, that isn't real restriction. The restriction you have at 6 months after you have healed is your real restriction. Too many people depend on the healing level of restriction to control their eating instead of following their eating plan properly.

    30-40 percent regain

@@Frenchie1977 30-40 % regain is really vague. Almost all people are going to gain weight as they age, that is just life for the most part, and most WLS patients have some bounce back. If I had a Dr telling me that 30-40% of his patients regain all of their weight, I would look for another Doctor, obviously something is lacking with their program. Surgery isn't a magic tool, people have to work. Many people have surgery and aren't really ready for it, if forums are any representation of patients I would say over 60% of people that have surgery aren't really ready for it or good candidates. I went into surgery knowing the pitfalls. I know someone that had surgery, never got to goal, and regained. The reason why is pretty simple, they never changed their eating habits. They didn't take advantage of the time immediately post-op to learn new eating habits and to cook. They kept living their same lifestyle and just eating small amounts and added new habits like the occasional drink. They worked with a trainer and followed a fad diet, not a way of eating for life. When they got close to goal, they chickened out and decided they were losing too much, and stopped. Just a series of bad decisions. Now they have regained and are almost 300 pounds. This person had bypass not the sleeve. They eat all kinds of sugar and a lot of things I would never eat. Your success after surgery, as long as the surgeon is actually competent and can create a properly formed sleeve, is entirely up to you. A Dr stating 30-40% I would seriously doubt their skills to be honest.

    How to quit sugar ?!?!?!?

@@Armygalbonnie I agree with @@OKCPirate about weaning yourself but really you need to think about WHY you love eating sweets so much and why you love the feeling they give you. That will help you stop eating them. Sugar is just like any other drug the way it works in your brain. The fact that you are addicted to sweets is attributed to something else. If you can figure out why you are so intent on eating them and solving that issue, it will be easier to give up long term.

    Soft food stage problem

@@OKCPirate is right, even at a year, the amount of food I can eat varies from day to day even things that I normally eat. I kind of know why (Water content, how much I have eaten that day and the day prior) but for the most part of is the mystery of the sleeve. Also chicken is the hardest Protein for me to eat, fish is the easiest.

    Soft food stage problem

When you start on soft foods. Eat one thing at time. Don't mix things. If you eat just chicken, you would know if your issue is chicken. If you eat just yogurt you would know it is yogurt.

    Calories

@@Nicole Kahla You have to build up to that many calories. I didn't get there until almost 9 month and even now my calorie goal is in the 1400 range and I have a hard time getting there every day. I am running well over a 1000 calories deficit every day, so it is important to get my calories up but we can only eat so much at a time. I'm not sure about a smoothie with a bunch of calories. Are you sure you understood their instructions? Most doctors know you can't eat that much early on. Are you meeting your Protein goals? that is more important than calories

    ADVICE PLEASE HELP!

You really don't have to give up foods you love. You can probably have lobster on soft foods. Lobster is low in calories and high in Protein. Later you can make pizza with flat bread or just have the toppings no crust. The amount of time you can't have "good" foods is pretty short. You just have to change what you consider good some. Having WLS is not the end of good enjoyable food. I find I enjoy food far more now than in the past.

    Losing too fast?

If you use the calculator here, you are almost at the average expect weight loss for the first year. http://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-bypass/how-much-can-i-expect-to-lose Some people respond to surgery better than others. I don't think you losing too fast, your body knows best, it will probably slow down soon and the rest will be a slow drag. Congrats on the loss! It has taken me almost a year to get to the average expected weight loss for my weight, so I am right on track and so are you. Enjoy it and be happy.
  18. I need a new license picture I have renewed through the mail and my picture is 8 years old and looks nothing like me. I can't really update it because the system in Illinois is all jacked up. It really looks nothing like me at all.

    2nd week post op

@@Mrs.Snipes I had Water all day non stop my first 3 months. Only stopping before and after "meals", but I sipped water all day. That is pretty much the only way to stay hydrated. When I wake up, then and now, I drink 18 ounces of water. Wait 30-45 minutes, eat. Wait 30-45 minutes, start drinking water. My meals were planned. Protein shakes, or whatever, every 3 hours to meet my protein requirements. I never had calorie requirements or outlines, just protein first, and a protein minimum. What does your plan say?

    Slimpressions Vs. Spanx Vs. Others

If you carried one thing from them, I would suggest this. http://slimpressions.com/product/the-have-nots/ All the other places and brands that sold something with arm control, have discontinued it. That is the one thing I would buy regardless of cost.

    Chicken wings

I get the normal hot wings from wing stop once and a while. They are fried but they are naked. I don't have issues with eating fat, I usually am short on fat each day so fitting wings into my macros isn't an issue. At home I slow bake them to render all the fat off (you keep the flavor). I bake them like this http://www.recipetineats.com/crispy-oven-baked-chicken-wings-honey-garlic-sauce/ I don't use the sauce in the recipe. Then I just drown them in hot sauce and a little melted butter. Hot sauce alone has no calories... The Franks Red Hot Wing sauce doesn't have calories either. If you order wings out, make sure they are naked, and ask if the sauce has any sugar.

    Working out and calories in/out

@@abbey 123 Stalling at 6 months isn't uncommon. Are you losing inches? Do you know what your resting metabolic rate is? Have you had it tested? If your RMR is 1500, and you are already eating a calorie deficit and then you are burning 1000 calories on top of that calorie deficit, you are in starvation mode. You don't have any wight or height information so it is hard to tell.

    Does anyone regret their surgery?

    Slimpressions Vs. Spanx Vs. Others

I have never tried slimpressions. I wear Maidenform because it offers more control than spanx at a lower price point.
