    3 Month Stall

So you are living off 500 net calories a day? That explains your stall. Try increasing your calories. How can you run and not pass out on that low of calories? If I go below 1000 for a day I get light headed.

    Acid reducers

Yes, if you have acid issues and get them corrected you will see a decrease in hunger. I also noticed that eating helps with the acid symptoms so it makes sense that people with acid issues regain. Eating brings some relief.

    Hot Flashes and diarrhea

Reactive Hypoglycemia. Some of these fake sweeteners can cause it. When I gave up meat and was existing on protein bars and other protein supplements it happened to me. It was pretty terrible, I thought I was dying 1/2 the time until I figured out what was going on. Never had that issue with Premier Protein though.

    3 Month Stall

What do you eat along with that 85 grams of protein? What are your daily calories? Do you track your food with an app? Do you weigh your food. You shouldn't be stalled so early but also, you are pretty close to goal and a normal BMI so it is going to be slower. The closer you get to goal and a normal BMI the harder it is to lose, and the more closely you have to track

    Beware of Quest protein powder

They mix way too thick for me for immediately post-op. I could use them now, but I don't drink calories at this point. They sell by weight not volume as other people have said and they are never full containers. Quest powders are better for cooking with, than drinking. The peanut butter makes great cookies.

Best exercise for front of thighs?

All of those exercises are going to build muscle and make your legs bigger. If you are still a size 24 with a 52 BMI, it is just fat you need to lose. Lose another 75 pounds and it is going to come off your legs. Even with loose skin on my thighs I lost over 12 inches off each of my thighs and 4 inches off my calves. Just with walking and weight loss. When you state super morbidly obese, it takes a lot longer to get to where you want to be. If you want slimmer legs the only way to do it is walking or running. You have to burn the fat. Period. Yoga, Pilates, and T-Tapp will help you lean out also, they will tighten your muscles and help you burn fat. Weighs at the gym are exactly what you don't want to do.

    Stomach Stretching is a Myth

Well what counts as thin crust around the country/world varies. I'm a pizza snob, we have legit thin crust here and it is THIN, crackers are thicker than true thin crust. Then when you add sauce and cheese, slider city. I'm pretty sure it was like a 24 ounce steak. I need to find that thread Edit: Found it...

Ok, how bad did this REALLY hurt??!

I have a high pain tolerance. It did not hurt really. Felt like I did 1000 crunches (I used to do 1000 in HS). The morphine caused the most pain. Every shot made my intestines clinch. Once I refused that. It was easy. I stopped pain meds with 36 hours of surgery. Never had a c- section, had a natural birth. Child birth did not really hurt either, so yeah I have a high pain tolerence.

    Never ending period

Lets see, long before surgery I had a copper IUD inserted. Heavy periods for 6 months. Then back to normal. Then after having surgery, I had a period every 2 weeks for over 12 months, when I was dropping weight fast. Now I am back to normal. Combining those 2 things, IUD insertion and WLS seems like a nightmare. I hope you belong to Sam's or Costco, because you are going to be using a lot of feminine products.

    Skipping pureed

I never pureed anything. I am super texture sensitive. I did another week of full liquids, then went to soft foods. I was fine. I will starve before I eat blended food.
  13. This weekend I purchased my first high fashion designer dress, that was not on clearance. Since I am kinda weight stable I decided to treat myself. I love clothing and I have always wanted to own a high end designer dress but I obviously I could never fit them before. It feels so good to go into a luxury store and have the sales people cater to your every whim. I am enjoying playing dress up with my new body so much!

      Berry78

Awesome! It's crazy how the salespeople ignore heavyset ladies, but cater to the slender crowd! (Hello!, Even if I couldn't fit the clothes, doesn't mean I'm not shopping for someone else!)

Sales people have always fallen all over themselves to help me. I LOOK like I am going to spend money, they know a shopper (it is all in yhe accessories). Before I just couldn't fit luxury clothes even though i bought shoes and bags. Now I can be well dressed head to toe.

      Berry78

Gotcha. I usually dress as a bum when I'm shopping, and I don't do accessories at all.. not even a wedding band! But, I do get more attention now that I'm more moderately sized...

    Stomach Stretching is a Myth

Stretching is a myth unless you had a bad surgeon, which from a lot of the posts I read here is seems very possible for a lot of people. RNY pouches can definitely stretch though. and they can make extended stomachs at the top of the intestine. A properly formed sleeve does not stretch. Healing is not stretching. My capacity at over 2 years is exactly the same as it was at 6 months. 4 ounces of dense protein, is the max I can eat comfortably. That is if I follow my post-op eating instructions which are to eat protein FIRST. If I eat protein alone/first. I can eat 4 ounces maybe 5 if it has more fat, but honestly 5 is uncomfortable. If I eat it alternating bites with veggies I can eat 6 maybe even 8 ounces of protein. Which is why post-op instructions are to eat protein first. If I eat meat with veggies and take sips of water, I can eat as much as anyone else (because I am turning dense protein into a slider). If I eat something that is not dense protein, like a burger, I can easily eat a 6 ounce burger with cheese. If I eat something that breaks down easy like a crispy thin crust pizza, its a slider. I could eat a whole large thin crust pizza in an hour. That is grazing though, so that doesn't count. Eating sliders and grazing are breaking the rules but I could. What people call stretching is really just bad food choices and poor eating habits. I have never seen anyone say they pounded down a 16 ounce ribeye, except that one dude that claimed he ate like a 20 ounce steak at 6 weeks or something. Dr Wiener tries to educate people on proper eating habits for life. If you are not eating correctly all the sleeve tightening, and revisions will not save you. People can eat around any surgery. The best thing is to eat properly, in the correct order. Prior to surgery I would go to Steak N Shake and eat a double, a triple and 2 orders of fries. I used to be able to consume massive amounts of food. I really just can't eat like that all, IF I FOLLOW THE RULES. If I don't follow the rules I can totally eat a ton of food. I could easily eat 1/2 a double layer cake if I wanted to, in 30 minutes to an hour, nothing will stop me, it is just mush. This is why following your post-op eating instructions for the first 6 months are really important. Not only are they a prescription diet to prevent complications but those instructions also re-train you on eating like you are a baby so you can learn new habits. With your surgery restriction, metabolic reset and rapid weight loss as tools and motivators to help you learn and stick to them. When people are a week or two out, sneaking food and talking about their body knows it needs and all that other drama, they are just cheating themselves out of their chance for an easy reset. And yes it is easy, losing weight immediately after weight loss surgery is the fastest and easy weight loss you are ever going to have in your life and you only get one real chance at it, revisions don't lost as fast as first timers. So don't blow it.

    Cross-fit anyone?

Crossfit is tailored to the person, so you can do it at any fitness level. If you want to increase your all around fitness and get legit strong, then Crossfit is amazing for that. I like my Crossfit gym because we aren't trapped indoors even though we are in doors, it has huge garage doors that open so it doesn't feel like you are inside I hate being indoors and I hate being active indoors so it works for me. I would suggest waiting until at least 6 months maybe even a year. Just because you need to be able to drink enough to replace fluids and eat enough to keep your calories up. And my opinion on that isn't just for Crossfit, it is for anything that is higher intensity than walking.

    Clothing Size

I wish more people would share their measurements. I wear anywhere from an 8 to a 12 based on brand, cut and fabric. Sizes are completely abritrary. I mean Ted Baker has his own size chart, where a 10 is relabeled as a 4... My measurements however are exact. A lot of people love stretchy clothing. If a person is wearing stretchy plus sized clothes that they have owned for some time, they could easily be 2 sizes larger in clothes without give and not even know it. A lot people don't really seem to be into fashion or updating their wardrobes, when they post their starting sizes, I mostly ignore them.

    Kitchen appliances/gadgets

I have never used a blender post-op. Whipping air into your food/smoothies, shakes is exactly what you don't want post-op. It will make them thicker and harder to drink. The best tool is a kitchen scale with a tare option. I just replaced mine of 2 years with a new model. Other than that, lots of measuring spoons/cups. If you eat leftovers or have a job and need to take your lunch, lots of little/portion control plastic/glass containers.

When did you get rid of clothes?

Every single time i dropped a size. So I was donating clothes weekly or every 2 weeks for months. I do not keep clothes that are too large. It is just subconsciously giving yourself permission to regain.
  20. There is a good one on another site I won't link here. Just google expected weight loss gastric sleeve calculator and it should be in the top 3 choices. I think they can be helpful to give you an idea of where you should be. It is pretty consevative in loss estimates and goes with averages. I blew all their numbers out the water.

Need to find inexpensive bariatric vitamins. HELP!

If your Dr says you need calcium and iron pills you need calcium and iron. Most women that are still menstruating will need them.

Need to find inexpensive bariatric vitamins. HELP!

I used the spray post-op because my Dr Recommended and after pre-op testing I had hit my max out of pocket for the year so they were free the rest of the year anyway. After that... I get a sublingual B-12 from Sam's club. If you have a Sam's membership that is the best place to get vitamins. If you have a Sam's plus membership you can get script Vitamin D for free. These are a good multivitamin, you need 2 a day though not the recommended 1. http://a.co/0EanaNY If you need a chewable and live near a Trader Joe's https://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-High-Potency-Chewable/dp/B00ELPQZF4 I hate chewables, but I used those for a while and they aren't as sweet as most. Def not as sweet as the Bariatric versions.

    Rate of weight loss?

@Yettid If your start weight is 220, it doesn't matter what surgery you have, you are not going to lose more than 5 to 10 pounds a month. You will be lucky to lose 10 pounds the first month and 5 each month after. You are not going to have rapid massive weight loss with WLS you are not big enough starting out.
