Clear proteins questions
OutsideMatchInside replied to Autumn Fury's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first week of Clear liquids, I was allowed Protein shakes. So it was more Water thin liquids, than clear liquids. I had Premier Protein and broth with protein powder. -
Old (2012) Medical study on WLS, but super interesting.
OutsideMatchInside replied to sc101071's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Almost every single study out say that the tube sizes doesn't matter in forming the sleeve in the weight loss, but people and Dr's still insist on the smaller ones or act like it makes a difference when science and common sense, says it doesn't When you look at the size difference it is so minimal it is comical. -
Can I eat/drink?
OutsideMatchInside replied to mrstkgreene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@mrstkgreene I had a straw in the hospital, and I drank my Protein shake in the hospital from a straw, about 22 hours post-op. -
Go away head hunger?
OutsideMatchInside replied to mrstkgreene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found right after surgery, I thought about food but there was a complete disconnect between my brain and my body, so it was just a passing thought. I would just drink Water or a Protein shake and that bit of discomfort I had in the beginning took my mind off of it. I was pretty terrified of ripping my staples open, especially since I live and work alone. -
Shoe Size change after sleeve
OutsideMatchInside replied to crut77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
12W to a 10/10.5 regular. I have long feet. I don't expect them to get any smaller, they were never smaller than this when I was thinner. -
Finding Vegas travel difficult and boring; hell this entire diet is same old, same old

I would get some soup at the buffet, and the seafood. -
How long does everyone stay full after a meal?
OutsideMatchInside replied to ceecee26's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It really depends. Usually 2 hours, but I don't really have hunger, so that isn't a good answer. I have to go 12 to 16 hours without eating to feel hungry. I have trained myself to eat every 2 to 3 hours when I am awake so I can get all my Protein in. I feel the most restriction from dense meat. So if I am having a "hungry" day, some days I just want to eat more than other days, I have steak and chicken wings almost all day. Other than that, I mix it up withe different protein types all day so I don't get bored. -
I like to cook and kinda hate prefab food
OutsideMatchInside replied to Havasumoma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@vegbeth I live alone. My friend drove me home and spent the night. However, I could take care of myself. You to be up and moving around anyway. Just have things on the counter so you don't have to reach or bend over. -
Everytime I shave my armpits I am annoyed. That is the only fat padding I really miss. I think I am going to go back to Nair for that area, luckily I'm not hairy so it doesn't matter much. Prior to losing weight my legs were so big and everything so far apart, it barely looked like I had leg hair. Now that my legs are small I see all the little hairs all the time! driving me nuts. Someone posted a picture in a different thread about the proper way to sit and for the most part, that has solved my painful butt issues. Still can't find clothes in my size. All women have the same problem, no matter what size you are, everyone is wearing that size. When I was wearing XL, I thought there were no XLs because everyone was in them, Now I wear a L, still nothing. My friend wears a small or a xs, same problem

I know a lot of people are against food funerals. I however am not. I ate whatever I wanted until I start pre-op and I found that it helped me get through the weeks of not eating, and also I really didn't eat as much as I thought I would. Most people have anywhere from 3-5 weeks they are not chewing anything. Looking back on those food funerals I was able to get over not eating. I'm sorry about your family, but you don't need your aunts approval or support. It would be nice, but you can do this alone. Good luck.

Who decides surgery type?
OutsideMatchInside replied to beaker27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Feeling annoyed with my bf... need advice
OutsideMatchInside replied to krazykristen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah you really have to live your life for yourself and worry about your needs. I never thought I was an unhappy fat person or in pain, but now that I have lost weight I can recognize how much pain I was in every single day, and how uncomfortable I was daily, just doing daily tasks. When you lose weight and feel better, you will have a whole new outlook on life. If you are in your 20s still, you are doing yourself a big favor by taking care of this now instead of later. -

Feeling annoyed with my bf... need advice
OutsideMatchInside replied to krazykristen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@krazykristen Can you cover the rent if he is gone? I mean honestly it already sounds like this relationship has an expiration date. When you lose weight, feel better, and have more confidence, he is not going to be able to hang. -

Feeling annoyed with my bf... need advice
OutsideMatchInside replied to krazykristen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah my friends in Texas have been posting temps in the 100s on facebook. Not good for recovering from surgery. You might have a lot of energy post-op, I did, but I would get tired very fast. I would go from being full of energy to exhausted almost instantly. Just tell him you aren't going and leave it at that, then you don't have to worry about getting there and wanting to go home, or wasting money on a ticket or whatever. If this is his attitude now, this does not bode well for the future of your relationship. Is he otherwise supportive of your choice or does he see it as an overall inconvenience? And now I am going to be nosey, you shouldn't be taking care of some dudes kid without a ring and his last name. When you start focusing on yourself and taking care of yourself and looking better, he is probably going to show out with you. Like sit in front of you and eat all your favorites when you are 3 weeks out and on purees. -
Feeling annoyed with my bf... need advice
OutsideMatchInside replied to krazykristen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Umm it is major surgery. How old is your BF? You can probably go to this outdoor event fine, but if there is a lot of walking you might get tired, if the weather is still warm (it was 90 here today) the heat might wear you out. Do you live with him? Maybe when he sees you in the hospital, he will understand it isn't a casual thing. I could say more but I'm going to play it cool for once. Good luck. -
Movie snacks!?
OutsideMatchInside replied to m2longenbach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They sell water at the movies, it is trash Dasani water, but it is water. I don't want or need special treatment. If I am feeling fancy I get coffee or unsweetened ice tea. I used to get coffee post op all the time because I used to be so cold but my temp has normalized. -
Not feeling any restriction
OutsideMatchInside replied to kj4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@kj4 liquids should not trigger restriction. The only reason they do early on is because you are swollen and healing. The valve at the bottom of your stomach opens constantly to let things pass through and liquids pass like sand through the hourglass. If you aren't feeling restriction, then you are healing better/faster than most people. Congrats, you can meet your Fluid requirements. -

You don't really feel full on liquids or purees. At at year it depends on what it is. Dense Protein 1-2 hours? My #1 goal is to never be full. I like being able to breathe. -
