Hi, Josie here, I am so nervous but ready for this change. I found out about this site a few days ago searching for pre-surgery information. My scheduled surgery date is 6/11.
I have only told a handful of people that I am doing this with a mix of reactions. I switched from RNY surgery to Sleeve just before approval. When I started initially I was set on the Sleeve, but after meeting with the surgeon and thinking I will lose more weight with the RNY I decided to pursuit that option. After further research and feeling overwhelmed I switched back to the Sleeve.
I am sure this is the tool for me. I have tried a lot of other weight loss methods like WW, Personal Trainers, and Intense Workouts. The intense workouts worked and I lost 60 lb. and gained it all back.
I am a borderline hypochondriac. I guess the difference is I know when I am over board and I talk since into myself.
The good part will be finally being less than 300 lbs the bad part of this process was completing my 3 month insurance requirements in January and being denied because they changed their policy a few days before my appointment to a 6 month nutritional meeting requirement.
I hope to gain more energy and be able to do more with my family. I want to feel comfortable walking into a room. I hope to alleviate the new pain in my knees. I know with exercise and this tool I will be successful in being healthy and losing all this excess weight and reaching my goal weight of a healthy 150 lbs. I want to be here for my son and my daughter and my grandchildren and my loving husband.
My stats:
Age: 44
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
HW: 340
CW: 340 (BMI 58.4)
GW: 150
