Please check w your surgeon!! I'm very pro breastfeeding, but breastmilk sucks the nutrients out of your body and that combined w this surgery could leave you in a serious state of deficiency. Having surgery while bfing could cause serious harm, I hope you tell your surgical team asap as they would want you to consult with an IBCLC For sure. Good luck

I'm very open and honest w my 4 and 7 yr old boys. I just told them Saturday "you know how mommy is really big? Well that's not very healthy, and I need to have a surgery to help me be a healthier person". They were like "ok, can I play mine craft?"

Living with Lymphedema
eowynmn replied to icyblufrz88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Your surgeon will probably work with a lymphedema specialist or OT that will help make a plan pre and post op. I know performing surgery on a limb that has lymphedema can increase the risks, definitely discuss w your team. -
What saji said. Lots of things are elective like gall bladder removal, joint replacements that are necessary. Sometimes you need to separate yourself from medical language. It's kinda like how people get offended by the word obese which is a medical word w negative connotation, or how a miscarriage is actually called a spontaneous abortion. It's just terminology.

12 hour drive 10 days post-op?
eowynmn replied to drmeow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your biggest concern with this, and why the physician might advise against it would be a risk for throwing a blood clot. A car seat/airplane seat are the highest risk positions for this. I would Definitely discuss your plans w your doc and ask for his exercise recommendations and he might put you on something like prophylactic lovonox injections or something like that?
