    Aetna insurance

I just meant that Unlike some people who seem to have to make multiple requests before getting approval, my approval came on the first round of submissions.

    Aetna insurance

I have Aetna and had no problems getting approved on round one.

    Aetna insurance in Georgia

I am in Washington state but I also have an Aetna plan. I had a very good experience. No denials. Relatively quick process (6mo in total but only that long because of my request). They paid well and on time. All good
  4. I'm here in the rural southeast corner of Washington state. WALLA WALLA to be exact...funny, kind of a foodie haven! Anyone else from around here? Interested in connecting? Support groups in person you know of? Peace! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don't know of any groups in the TC area. There is a monthly group in WALLA WALLA on the first Wednesday of the month. I can't recommend it however. Which clinic are you using for your surgery?
  6. I feel in a similar boat. Ive been stalled at 240ish since April. No movement despite exercise, diet adjustments and even a couple days back to the protein shake only diet. It's hard. I feel afraid of gaining back. Trying to find a balance between non-reactionary calmness and reasonable attention to broken matters.
  7. Good for you! I was cut open back in December. A hard but good road. Best wishes
  8. One year ago today I began intentionally working to improve my health. Today I am 80 pounds lighter, I am off on my medication, and I feel really good. I've had to buy all new clothes, and I'm exercising more than I have in years and I'm actually enjoying it. All is well right? Well I'm still on my CPAP machine. And I am in another 20 pounds or so from my goal weight. I'm five months from my actual surgery day and since then I've lost 40 pounds. But in the last month, I've lost zero. (I have not gained any weight in that time but just stayed right around the same). My Water and Protein is within my clinics recommendations. I'm exercising quite a lot. The thing that I'm struggling with is grazing when I'm at home especially in the evenings I tend to nibble on while I am cooking dinner for my family. The things I eat are nuts, apples, oranges, Jerky, toast here in there, cheese, yogurt, etc. my clinic hasn't told me to be completely carb free. Instead they have told me to focus on eating protein first. This is what I do for the most part. At my last check up a month ago my care providers all seemed very happy with my progress. But I'm feeling discouraged mostly fear that I am wasting this valuable window surgery has created. Am I being ridiculous? Because truthfully I haven't felt this good as I do right now in 15 years plus. At the same time I know I haven't been 100% perfect all the time on the diet rules and so I'm terrified that I'm sabotaging myself. Help me get out of this all or nothing black-and-white thinking. Much love thanks for your help.

    Peanut butter!

Really!? Wow. Just in the peanut butter aisle eh?

    Peanut butter!

I want to try this stuff. Do local regular grocery stores sell it??
  11. All offices are different. But that would feel impossible for me honestly. I'm supposed to stay under 1200 calories, eat Proteins first in my meals, and try to get ~100g of Protein per day plus Water. I have a hard time with the calories as it is - many days I'm pushing 1600. I'm only about 3 months out right now. I definitely can only eat so much. But by eating little bits all day long, it's easy to over eat even by prior standards.

    Peanut butter!

Peanut butter is a killer for me too. I LOVE IT. and I just eat the plain Adams brand with nothing added. Still super high calorie even without the sugar. I shall try this stuff My nut has told me no no peanut butter now.

    Not enough food

I'm four months out and I can eat a couple eggs. Im definitely full after that though. Not sure how much I could add beyond it. I get a quarter banana in on many mornings in my protein shake smoothie. But that's blended.

    Compromising too soon

Hang in there, I feel very much the same. Sugar and snack cravings are my undoing! Ugh! So hard. Don't give up though. One or two bad days or even a bad week here or there is s drop in the sea. No one is perfect.

    hiccups after eating?

Same for me. Hiccups means I ate too fast and/or too much. Not pleasant.

    Dec sleevers?

Happy day for you! I was sleeved on Dec. 17. I weighed 276 and now I'm 245. Sweets are my downfall and I still struggle with cravings almost daily. The better I do with Protein and lots of Water, the easier it is however. Lately my Snacks have been apples (sometimes with a little peanut butter), these homemade flax and cheese crackers that are low carb, or my pre mixed costco Protein shakes. I've found that if I have nuts, candy, chips, crackers, etc in the house at all - my cravings for them intensify and are all but impossible to resist at a certain point. I have not binged yet per se, but I have had a few days where I "grazed", which is a very very old and ingrained habit for me. The first step is naming it!! Good work you!

    Noisy Tummy?

I'm about three months out and yes mine is very loud too. Particularly right after eating. I could imagine that it would be embarrassing if I were more self-conscious. But the truth is that the older I get the less I really care LOL
  18. I expected one. But same thing, doc doesn't do them because he says that test at that point isn't useful.
  19. I had major issues with nausea and vomiting from the Celebrate brand of multivitamin. I switched to BA and haven't had a problem since. I threw out what remained of the celebrate. My NUT actually said that he finds this commonly among people taking celebrate - which is why he recommends BA.

    Non-scale victories

I jogged almost 3 miles yesterday. Huge huge victory. So excited!

What are you doing for Lent?

I'm Protestant so I've always had a different relationship with lent than some. But I've still practiced it from time to time. Ive found it a helpful spiritual tool. However a lot of times I've given up health related things and so lent becomes conflated with a type of diet. These were never good for my health pre surgery ultimately speaking. So I'm going to abstain this year and maybe pick a different non food issue next year to focus on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Sigh.. The stall kills

I hit a stall for about 3 weeks beginning about 5 weeks after surgery. I'm hoping I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. It makes me question everything. I know everyone says it's normal. But damn! So hard not to second guess or get down on myself in the middle of it. I have such a bad track record for giving up on weight loss efforts in the past when I hit one of these - I want to find a way to stay positive and on track. So hard though. 23. Things have picked up. Today I'm one day shy of 6 months, and I'm at 273 - 14 pounds for the month and a total of 130 down. I'm good with that. Amazing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Agree! Any man having this surgery should try to talk the surgeon not to catheterize. It is about a 45 minute surgery, the sleeve. My husband had terrible problems with the catheter. His surgeon has done two more hernia surgeries on him and agrees, no more catheters!!!! I didn't actually get a catheter for he surgery. They straight cathed me several times to drain my bladder because I was unable to go at all... Maybe that's a side effect of catheterization while under surgery? Idk. Never came up as a reason. They just said it was due to anesthesia... I'll tell you what though, it was incredibly painful (and I'm not talking about the caths) - the pressure relief they brought was a god send. 25. Sleeved 12/17. 276 to 249 today. So 27lbs lost in about 7 weeks. It's hard not to be disappointed or impatient. But I'm doing my best to internalize my diet and lifestyle changes - trusting the process to work out in the end. I'm going to weigh myself less often going forward.
