hey! i was banded around the same time as you both mine was June 26th of this year,and so far have only lost 11 LBS and that with me dieting and exercising! i havent had a fill yet, my fill appt.is August 12th!

Im in the san fernando valley but will travel to wherever yall meet again.please keep me posted i could use some support!

dont worry that sharp shooting pain is gas tryin to come out in the form of a burp if your anything like i was i wasnt able to burp at all so it wouldtravel all the way up hurting the whole time then go away, it sucks for awhile i am one month out and so happy now,but the first week i felt just like you miserable and wondered why did i do this to myself,i even begged my mom to take me to the emergency room to have it taken out LOL thank God she didnt listen to me, it took about 7 days for me to start feeling better,everyday will get better,just remember Protein shakes!!!!!!! get your protein in it really does help ,big hugs to you!!!!

thats all your suppose to be doing right now, you just had surgery!!! LOL walking around is all your to do,im going on my 5th week and i just started last week goin to the gym,give yourself some time to heal before u think of working out

well count me in with yall LOL I was banded 6-26-08 and have lost 11 LBS, i watch everything i eat and i exercise, i was very angry at first then i realized better to lose something than to be gaining ,but any pointers would be nice lol

you are not a loser!! your human and we all make mistakes,at least you realized your problem and now u can get back in charge! best of luck

okay im almost 4 weeks out from surgery and still after 4 weeks have gas!! it doesnt hurt BUT i cant stop burping or pardon me (breaking wind) lol anyone else goin on 4 weeks or more with gas still?:seeya:

well im no expert but i was told 2 days after surgery that i could shower they said the sticky tape can get wet, just no pool,or baths. are you drinking protein shakes? the pain gets better every day,just ,ake sure you are walking as much as possible

I guess by making us less hungery and less able to overeat we lose weight,we still have to make right choices and exercise but maybe with restriction we wont be starving therefore make better food choices, i was just recently banded and havent had a fill yet, I eat a total of 3 cups of food a day and 2 snacks and i am not starving

i use centrum liquid, or centrum chewables they dont taste to bad at al

everyone i know including myself has been intubated

I have thought about it for some years, but November 2007 i quit smoking cigarettes after that i gained even more weight, thats when i decided to make 2008 and every year after my year! i figured if i could quit smoking after 20 years of smoking then i could def. have weight loss surgery! i was banded June26th of this year! Amen!! although i am loosing slowly (9 lbs only) its the best thing i ever decided to do.

im also 4 weeks out with the same problem so you are not alone! but i dont know what is causing it ,sorry i cant help more

thanks for all your responses! glad to know im not the only one LOL not real pleased to know i might have gas for the rest of my life but at least im not alone ! LOL great way to get a date ! my dogs are always lookin at me like "what the hell was that" LOL

Hi all,well i just came back from my doctors and she feels i am a great candidate for lap band! finally a Doctor who agrees with me! she said my bmi is 40 my blood pressure is a little high and i am borderline diabetic,she said she will do everything in her power to get me this surgery!! Im afraid to get excited out of fear of gettin let down if they dont approve it,I have blue cross californiacare,Can anyone tell me what to expect in the weeks or months ahead,Im soooo nervous I have to have this surgery its my only hope I have struggled with my weight all my life, let me know what kind of journey i have ahead of me please,thank you all !!!:redface:
