Kiwi looking for buddies being sleeved this week! (24-30 Jan)
lizcan replied to Kiwisleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Am a kiwi living in Perth and was sleeved last May. All the very best for your surgery and your new life. -
Hi I'm living in Perth and was sleeved last May. I don't remember the exact dollar amount but after medicare and health insurance it cost me about $5000. Probably saved that amount on my grocery bill by now! It has been an awesome journey and I am just about at goal. Never thought I'd be a size 12. Good luck!

Eating like crap to me is feeling out of control and eating stuff that I wouldn't normally eat but feel like it is beyond me to rein myself in. The only way around it is to get up the next day and start fresh.

I started to lose my hair at about 5 months and now at 8 months out it has slowed dramatically. Although I was very conscious of it no one else noticed. I do have lots of hair and it is growing back

It is a cordial so a nice change from water. No carbs. I bought mine online from nutrition warehouse (I think). It is quite expensive initially but lasts for ages. -

lizcan replied to frazildazil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the same. I see on this site that there are plenty of Americans going to Mexico. It's amazing that this is the most cost effective way for you -
hair loss , growth = faith and hope
lizcan replied to Homecie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks for the hope. My hair is coming out fast and my part is getting very wide! I washed my hair in the shower the other day and my hair blocked the drain. I am going to try some of the liquid silica. -

I have kept it long. The thing that is worse than it falling out is that it is dried out and looks frizzy. I just get the ends trimmed but I am like you and have very thick hair si it is not too noticeable yet...

My bmi was 36 with a start weight of 205 and after 5 months it is 28 and my weight is 160. I am very happy with the pace of loss. I think the slow and steady loss helps keep things in perspective.

Mine has just started to fall out and I am 5 months out. So far it's not too bad.

That's fantastic. Well done -
Hi All A very exciting day yesterday. I wore shorts for the first time in at least 20 years! Man were my legs white! But they were free of the constraints of trousers. It was 33 degrees (91 f) so I appreciated it that's for sure. I might try a skirt soon!
