@@OutsideMatchInside i know right! im in the states but i bought the DVD set and already finished it. i think they just wanted us to think he might die or make it exciting or something. or if it had even been a factor in the hospital decision but they downplayed that too. bah. anyways. i won't put any spoilers i'll just say the final season ends up very "tidy". @@2goldengirl im glad you said that about mercy street cuz im recording it but haven't started it cuz my co-worker said it wasn't good but now i'll start and see how it is

@Rose1up! sounds like you are doing great. it's a process. you learn what works and what doesn't. the sodium will definitely affect you so definitely try lowering that. i got stuck for a few weeks but i'm a good range for me where i feel good about myself most all the time so im not that freaked out when i stall. but i've been stalled for about 2 weeks until today. some of that has been my fault, not eating enough and not getting my Water intake. i finally moved the scale this week but like i said i reached goal one so i'm not too freaked out about it going slow. that's ok. will help with loose skin if that should happen. be patient. keep doing what you're doing!

@@marley3 you get used to it. it's a bit of a poke but nothing too horrible

@Rose1up! sounds like you are doing great! the chewing thing is big. i STILL don't have that down. too stubborn i think but im paying the price so glad you are starting out right xo

MENTAL NOTE: wearing correct sized clothing makes a HUGE difference. I'm in my legit 14's today and everyone has suddenly freaked out about my weight loss lol. Guess it was pretty well hidden in those super loose 18s lol.

From the album: DURING
this was in the 190's somewhere. -
annoying with these "why am i not losing more" people that aren't putting in the work. you still have to work at it! hello! stop whining
-
lol Exactly. it's only when they bitch and moan even when they KNOW they aren't putting the work in that it bugs me. Meanwhile I'm working out five days a week over here lol
-
LOL steak at week one. That's hilarious. Yeah, I've seen a lot of posts from people about eating solid food on week one, like it was no big deal. I'm thinking, how the hell is that even possible? I could only take tiny sips of water and couldn't even finish half a bowl of soup yet these people seem to be guzzling down food the same as before.

@Proud2BMe right? i still can't eat that much at 3 months and some ppl are like i'm getting my 1200 cal a day and I'm like WHAT??? how??? lol

well im an oct 7th sleever and i can still barely eat so. i hear ya. if it doesn't feel right - talked to your NUT or doctor.

@Rose1up! you don't have to give up broth but def do low sodium broth. in the beginning you should try no sugar, low sodium no carbs (kinda except at some point you get like mashed potatoes), also no caffeine. everyone loses a little different. you're doing pretty well on the liquid tho. it was really hard for me in the beginning to even get close to 64oz a day. still is actually. sounds like you're doing great. i hit 186 today so im excited to get closer to 180 and then beyond. let's do this!~ xo

Thank you mama. I think I'm going for 9/10 but we'll see. I'm happy with the progress. I'm still working out five days a week but my food intake needs work. I have zero appetite. Also my Water intake sucks lol. Work in progress tho How you feeling?

welllll the time has come. i am now starting to actually look droopy and ridiculous in my clothes. i think i might be a 14 now. not sure. i know i can't wear my 18's anymore. so i guess it's time to shop this weekend. it's hard to know how much to buy since i don't know what size i'll end up but i guess it's a good problem to have.
-
@Rose1up! it's not flat flat it's 90% flat tho lol. i gain in my legs and thighs and butt so when i lose my waist and tummy go down first then legs, butt and thighs. i don't have any kids so i know it's much harder for mommies so don't beat yourself up. yes let's meet up when you're in a more stable state. whenever you're ready
-
@Rose1up! ha Dana! I keep forgetting you're here! we need to meet up. How tall are you? i'm only 5'3 so when i say i like me at 180 people are like what???? but it's really true. my stomach was almost 100% flat and everything! lol. i haven't seen 130 since i was like 12 which i guess is 6th grade so i hear ya on that too LOL. ah heck. sorry bought the damn wound. that blows but you'll be ok. you're doing all the right things

Nevada. Self pay - $11,500

@Rose1up! i hear ya. i been 180 and i look pretty good. but i think 160 will be awesome. 140 i think is too small but who knows! sky's the limit right? sounds like you're doing great! the first couple week you can lose a pound or more a day it's FAB. You might be feeling hungry. Don't let anyone tell you you're not feeling what you're feeling cuz it's your body and you know what it is lol. are you sipping your liquids in a cup? like not thru a straw or anything? that's the best way to make sure you're not getting gas but gas is a given in the beginning so just keep walkin' and sippin.

i can't do powders but i can do the premier Protein. and it's only 11oz so it's not too hard to drink. there are some yogurts that have 13g or protein (chobani). also pumpkin seeds and such have lots of protein. bison/buffalo has a lot as well.

Staying on track when you're under the weather
pr_pitbullgrl replied to lauraellen80's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i've had bronchitis since last wednesday. all weekend i slept and took cold meds, barely ate and did not work out even tho i'm a five to six day a week work out person. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. i could barely breath so there was no way i was gonna go do my normal work out without passing out. you'll be ok. p.s. i also didn't eat a bunch of crap during my illness but i did have a baked potato one day and lots of saltines cuz it was all i could really stomach besides broth. you'll b ok. just get better first. -
What’s Your Attitude Towards Carbs?
pr_pitbullgrl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
i've done fruit. for a while i did a lot of fruit because it was all i could stomach. i never did any "white carbs". I still don't. I lose better when i don't. no sugar, no carbs, no caffeine is my general rule. -
So I changed my goal to 160. I think that's really my goal but, if I feel like it, i might go lower and try to be "skinny" which is what 140 would look like on me. but i have to say this. i feel like, for the first time in my life, i'm GOING TO GET THERE. i always had doubts before. i would get 40, even 20lbs from my goal and never make it. this time feels different. my life IS different. I'M different. i KNOW i'll get there cuz it's just gonna happen. i'm working for it everyday. its my way of life now. ive been sick since last wednesday and now i'm getting better and i can't WAIT to start working out again. even tho being sick, i've lost weight, i want to get back to sculpting my body again and working for it. i am excited to get there like i've never been before. before i was racing towards it before i "lost the urge". now it's a complete change of life and there's no going back cuz it's just not possible to go back. and i'm finally good with that. in fact, my struggle is finding ways to eat ENOUGH rather than finding ways to cut back.

13 mths post op
pr_pitbullgrl replied to t.deramo12@icloud.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i hear ya on this. i realized the hard way that after the first 20lbs i was gonna have to "eat right" and exercise just like anyone else. the only thing the sleeve helps with is not allowing me to stuff my face like i used to. otherwise you gotta work for it. you can do it! -
i didn't have that problem in the beginning. (I wasn't hungry in the beginning) but you will feel boredom in what you're drinking. that, in and of itself, can prove dissatisfying. hunger and stomach acid do not feel the same way. stomach acid feels like. well acid in your stomach. it hurts. take it from me. i've had gastritis and a hiatal hernia for years. hunger feels like emptiness. i started getting hungry about 4 weeks out. and now i'm hungry all the time but rarely have an appetite for anything so it's easy to "eat right" since I don't really want anything in spite of being "hungry".
-
@Rose1up! i didn't get hungry in the beginning and i was, like you, actually happy to be on liquids for the beginning cuz i couldn't see anything solid going anywhere and i wasn't hungry at all. but everyone is different. and i agree with you when the doctor says it's mental and you're like, dude, i can FEEL it. maybe you can. i'm hungry all the time now tho i have no appetite i do feel the hunger. just trust your body. get your Protein and fluids and be patient and calm.
-
Congratulations. Everything you're saying sounds normal. I'm glad you're feeling well. Keep us all posted.

Is there any nutritional value in a bowl of Pasta? In a house green salad? In a potato? In a french fry? In a bowl of rice? Now that everything is so focused on poteen I don't know why I ate these foods before. Do I have a need to ever eat them again? All these things seem like just filler foods. back in the day I would eat salad with meat just to fill up my stomach and when I was fat I would eat french fries and pasta for pleasure but was I getting any nutritional value? What are sample diets that you're following? I'm 2 1/2 months out and I work out five days a week or more.
