  1. They ship them now? Last time I looked, they didn't. Thanks for that info!
  2. I like the Premier Protein shakes from Costco, but I'm 300 miles from a Costco, and I definitely need some variety. I really enjoy the Unjury protein shakes, and they aren't chalky at all.

    ANY AUGUST SLEEVERS

I just found out I have yet another hoop to jump through. Now I need a surgical clearance from an Internal Medicine doctor before they will schedule me. My doc IS an internal medicine doctor, but of course she's on vacation until July 15. We live 300 miles away from most major medical services, so it looks like I will have to go out of town to get it done. AAGH!
  5. Hi, I have Cigna insurance, and my last weight loss appointment is next week. I have a BMI of 36.5. Cormorbidities of hyperlipemia, high cholesterol, and a degenerating hip. My primary care doc is actually the one who first suggested the sleeve to control my weight because of my hip. My mom is diabetic, and I am pre-diabetic. I'm really worried that I've junped through all these hoops and insurance will say no because my BMI isn't 40. Can anyone give me some encouragement?
  6. Remind me- which ones did you get?

    What about the boobies!?

Some people are having food funerals...I'm having a boob funeral. I lost 50 lbs 5 years ago, and had sad little saggy boobs. I gained 60 lbs back, so they're full again, but I've already told my husband to kiss 'em goodbye. He says he won't care- he loves me and my boobs regardless of size. I'm the baby! If only I could choose where my fat would disappear from, and in what amounts!

    ANY AUGUST SLEEVERS

I'm APPROVED!! *happy dance* I don't have a date scheduled yet, and I probably won't know for another week, but approval was the big hurdle!
  9. I'm in NV. They said they had 5 days to consider it, but then it went to medical review (my BMI is 36.6, so it wasn't a slam dunk). Today is exactly a week later, and I'm APPROVED! YAY!
  10. FINALLY! I'm APPROVED!! Cigna said this morning that I had "partial approval." I asked what that meant. They said I was approved for the sleeve, but they need additional info on the "other surgery." I have no idea what they're talking about, so now I need to talk to my surgeon's office on that. But YAY!! APPROVED!!!

    ANY AUGUST SLEEVERS

I'll know tomorrow is I get to be sleeved. I'm hoping for Aug 10.
  12. I'm hoping to be an August low BMI surgery! 5'1", 190 lbs. I used to be a runner, so I have a lot of friends who still run & bike, and there have recently been several people bragging about not needing "gimmicks like shakes or surgery" to lose weight. I haven't said anything except to one close friend, who then said, "You're fat, but not THAT fat, and you just need to start exercising again. RUDE!! She is well aware that my degenerating hip is keeping me away from exercising. Anyways, I'm hoping for approval with comorbidities if the hip, hyperlipemia, and mild sleep apnea. I should know next week.
  13. Cigna does not require weight loss for alproval, so you should be fine!

    Favorite broths

Walmart.com has a whole selection of the Swanson flavor infused broths. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Swanson-Mexican-Tortilla-Flavor-Infused-Broth-32-oz/26875372 I can only get a couple here locally. I might have to try a few more! chicken tortilla sounds yummy!
  15. Great news! I hope I can report the same next week!

    Favorite broths

I just tried Unjury chicken soup flavor. It's actually pretty good!! I can see adding it to broth to get your protein in too.
  17. Spark has caffeine?! Sorry...
  18. My hubby used to have problems with anesthesia, until an anesthesiologist gave him Benadryl before a procedure. Since then (10 surgeries since then) no problems! The anesthesiologist said it works on different receptors to avoid nausea. I am not a doctor, and I obviously can't give medical advice, but it's something you could ask your doc about. Several of my husband's surgeons said they didn't know anything about that, but the Benadryl was ok with them.
  19. On the subject of out-of-pocket, if I get approved, my out-of-pocket is $2700. My husband is much heavier than I am, and he's a couple months behind me in the process, but his surgery will cost $250 (just the cost of a not-covered psych eval) IF we can get his done this year too! Two-fer!
  20. It's not all that uncommon for a psych to be the one to say "Hang on- are you really ready for this?" If nothing else, he wants to see that you're taking it seriously and have addressed whether you're ready. Those who are have better long-term results. I think a lot of us get excited "Yay! I get to have WLS!" but they need to make sure we're willing to put in the work. Only you can know if you're prepared, and if you're not, what you can do about it.
  21. Wow Sunshinetinaz! That's great! I've been told Cigna is super picky, but I do meet their criteria. Still waiting. Days seem like weeks! Haha!
  22. I don't sell the stuff, so don't consider this advertising...Advocare has an energy drink mix that's sugar free and has amino acids and vitamins. It's called Spark. My favorite flavor is fruit punch, and it will give you a natural pick-me-up that you're missing from coffee.
