I just got good news, my DH got his lapband surgery date and it's almost identical to mine from a year ago. He will get his band on St. Patrick's Day, March 17 and I had mine last year on March 19. He's excited and so am I, having us both banded I'm sure will help keep me on track!

Katy, I'm so sorry to hear about your band, I'm also keeping you in my prayers. -
I've had a total of 5 fills and I was on Plaquenil up until about 2 months ago when I stopped taking it. I was able to get the whole tablet down without any problems, but I see no reason why you couldn't break it in half to take it. I say go for another fill.

Fenton, that's great!! Keep up the good work. Way to go!

I use the varying Weight Loss programs on my treadmill so my incline ranges from 0 to 12 and my speeds vary from .5 to 3.5. I have a hard time keeping up with the 3.5 so usually back it down to 3 because I have short legs just like Harley, lol. I watch TV while I'm doing my treadmill, it keeps me motivated. I used to hold onto the rails but during one of the Biggest Loser shows Jillian was telling her people to let go of the rails because it gives you a better workout, so I gradually learned to let go of the rails and now do my walking without holding on. Just like Fenton suggests above, just slowly increase your speed and your balance will get better. I used to be afraid that I was going to fall off of mine too, but trust me you do get used to it.

I think some of it was Water weight as I'm been to the bathroom several times today since weighing in early this morning, so we shall see what happens next week.

It was easy, just chew, chew, chew and down they went!!

I too have not got my exercise in since the weekend. I did the treadmill on Saturday and my WII on Sunday (even though it wasn't long enough), so I AM going to do the treadmill tonite!!! I don't want to face "THE CLAW" on Friday!!:cursing:

I have not had this happen to me before. I would contact your doctor and discuss it with them, it could be a sign of something more serious.
-
I take 2 Fiberchoice - Weight Management chewable wafers everyday and they seem to help keep me regulated.
-
Well, it doesn't sound normal to me. I think I'd call the scheduler everyday until you get your date. Good luck.

Long - Great job on reaching the 100 lb mark!! Keep up the good work. -
OK, confession time for me. Last nite, between me and the dog, we ate a whole bag of Kraft caramels. They were really good, but the calories and carbs killed me for the day , I'm back on track again this morning and planning for a better day.

Special, those gold cards are neat. I wonder if the creator would make one up with a Shamrock on it, that would be cool. According to the link she created it with photoshop so I bet she might create one for us, just a thought.

:thumbup:Fenton, don't beat yourself up over today's indulgence, we all do it. You walked 5 miles today, I give you kudo's for that!! I know about the emotional eating all too well, eating from being bored is one of my biggest downfalls as well. That's why I just try to take one day at a time and try not to beat myself up over it when things don't work out the way I hoped. Keep your chin up, we shall reach that century mark soon!!!

Amanda, glad to hear from you, so sorry to hear about your mother, I'm continuing to keep you in my prayers. It's a hard thing going thru this, unfortunately, I went thru a similar experience with my mother almost 2 years ago before she passed. It's a rough go, but I'm sure you'll get thru it. Fenton, I too, am knocking on the door of 100 lb weight loss and it's only about 4 1/2 lbs away for me. I'm hoping to reach that mark in the next couple of weeks if not before, WE can do it. Keep up the good work. I plan on posting my before picture and my current picture once I reach the 100 lb weight loss so everyone can see my progress!! Keep up the good work everyone!!

OK, so I'm late posting my weight loss again this week, just couldn't bring myself into the cold office in the house, but I finally cranked up the space heater in here this morning so I could compute. :w00t: Anyway, I weighed in Friday morning and was down 3.2 lbs, whoohoo. Hope it continues downward next week. I've been doing good continuing the treadmill and logging my food for the most part so hoping for more good results next week. Way to go for 100 lbs lost Potatie and SugarBean!! I hope to join you guys soon and I'll post that milestone when I reach it, hopefully in the next 2 or 3 weeks. HELP!!! Is my band too tight? It hurts to swallow. NEED ADVISE PLEASE!
thin2bme replied to AmberRenee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Cara, I was banded in March 2008 and live in Kansas City, KS. Dr. Hoehn was my surgeon in Shawnee Mission. Yes it's normal for your belly to still be swollen 2 days out of surgery. You'll probably still be swollen for a few more days and things should start to settle down some. Not every surgeon puts a fill in your band at surgery, if they do it is very small. I can assure you once the swelling goes down you will definitely know that they is not much, if any fill in your band. The pain you are experiencing in your chest after drinking is probably just gas since you're just out of surgery, those pains can last a week or longer. Gas-X strips helped me, you might try that. Good luck and congratultions on your recent banding. I love my band and wish I'd have done it sooner. -

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted on this thread for quite awhile but just wanted you guys to know I'm still here and plugging along. I made it through the holidays without gaining any weight which is a good thing, but then the first week of January went to Las Vegas for a few days and came back with a 3 lb gain, since that time I have managed to get those 3 lb's off but now I'm struggling trying to get under the 190 mark and keep juggling 3 different lbs, up one week down the next. This week I decided it was time to get back on the treadmill and time to start journaling my food again. So far so good. I hope to see a drop in the scale come Friday, I'm trying not to beat myself up over this but the last few days I'm having a hard time with it. In other news my husband found out yesterday that insurance has approved him for lapband surgery and we're in hopes that in 6 weeks or so he'll have surgery, he see's the surgeon on February 9 so should get a date then. I'm looking forward to his surgery because I think that will help jumpstart me again and also help me keep on track afterwards. I can't complain really, I lost 93 lbs for 2008, 73 of it since surgery in March, but I'd really like to get the last 40-50 lbs off and I'm SOOOO CLOSE to 100 lbs I keep thinking maybe I'm trying to sabotage my self, grrrr!!!! -
I know what you're going through. Christmas came along and I too started eating basically whatever was put in front of me. I mananged to not gain anything but for the last 6 weeks I haven't lost either. I keep eating candy and need to stop. Over the weekend, I finally made myself get back on my treadmill and did 45 minutes Saturaday and Sunday and I've also started journaling my food intake again today in hopes that will help keep me accountable, maybe you should start logging your food also. Come on we didn't do this band for nothing, let's make today a new day and get off on the right foot, you can do it!!!

I have been struggling for 6 weeks with 3 pounds, up one week down the next and so on and so on. Over the weekend I decided if I'm going to get over this hump then I need to start my exercising again so I'm glad to say that I did 45 minutes on the treadmill both Saturday and Sunday and I'm going to start journaling my food intake again today. I keep hovering at 190 and occassionally get below it to 188 then it goes back up again, grrrr!! I want to get into the 180's and if I'm going to do it I decided that I had to get serious, so today's the day!! Wish me luck for a better week this week!
