Struggled with weight for whole life...but in my 20's I was normal weight. 1992 I was 120, my lowest. Always watching my weight but over time it just just packing on. I tipped scale at 300 in Feb when My PCP said if you ever want to get new knees( I have bad Arthritis in both) I would have to lose over 100 lbs and he knew and said I could never do it on my own.
 
I have lost before, almost 75 in 2010-2011 with a personal trainer, but knees weren't a big issue then. My doc had mentioned Baratric surgery multiple times, this time I listened. I called my insurance and they said they cover 80%. Next I went to info session at St. Francis Hospital with my mom and husband. Nothing would ever happen if they weren't on board. By end of evening we were all on board with the sleeve and we really liked the new surgeon there, Dr. Jon Pirrello. Made appt with him for a few days after and since then I have gone thru all the tests, lost 28 pounds, seen every specialists, changed my lifestyle, and now just waiting to get approval from insurance. Once approved I will schedule my date but it will be after my sons wedding because the surgery would be too close to that time and I don't want or do not even think I can fly on an airplane that close to a major surgery. So I am hoping for first week in August. I have done my research, spoke to previous patients of my surgeon, read the book, and now just waiting. Waiting for a new chapter to begin, knowing that my life will never be the same again especially when it comes to food and how I approach it. I know I may regret, I know there will be pain in beginning, bit ultimately I know I will not regret and I see myself a year from now half my size.
