I keep hitting stalls too, but am trying to look at the big picture. What I’ve noticed is that I NEED proteins. I’ve also noticed that for 700 calories a day doesn’t cut it. My body goes into starvation mode and the stall lasts longer. I’m down 58 lbs. it’s slow, but it keeps coming off little by little. Congrats on your loss so far. Keep on keeping on.

The pain started about 7 weeks out. Just below my breastbone and seemed to radiate outward. No reflux (reason i had the sleeve to bypass revision) or vomiting. But i have Zofran to use when needed. My doctor has made himself very accessible by email and phone. I had all the classic symptoms. He said we could do a scope, or we could just treat it without giving my pouch and intestine the added stress. He said if we did the scope, the treatment would be the same. Twice a day Prilosec capsule's, without the capsule. And three to five times daily Carafate, dissolved in water and drank like a shot. We initially tried for two weeks to see if there was any relief. There was. After a few days I noticed the pain was not constant. At the end of the first two weeks, I still had pain after eating, but still less frequent, and the severity was definitely less. So we have continued with the doctor checking in at two week intervals. Now, the pain is almost non-existent unless I forget to take the meds. We are continuing the meds for 4 more weeks and will then do a scope to make sure things are as they should be. I feel much better with each day. I'm hopeful that this was just a speed bump and will be healed in the next few weeks.

Hi everyone. It’s been a little over a month since we’ve checked in with each other. How are you all doing. I’ve been dealing with a marginal ulcer the past 6 weeks or so. But it’s healing and I’m starting to feel better. I’m down 45 pounds since surgery on March 12! I figured out that only eating 400 or 500 calories a day was making me stall. I usually get between 700 to 900 calories and I almost feel normal. Although I track my food religiously, and exercise at least 5 times a week. Hope you all are having success.

I always feel better after coming on here. Ive been stalled for about a week. But it seems I’m pretty much where I should be. Thank you all for sharing.

Hey all. Was wondering what your weight loss is since surgery. Mine was March 12, and I’ve lost barely 30lbs. How are you all doing?

I was just diagnosed with a marginal ulcer. I am 2 months out tomorrow. I haven’t had nausea or vomiting either. Just a searing pain under my sternum a couple of inches. I feel dizzy when the pain hits. It hurts to even touch my abdomen. Taking omeprazol and carafate for the next 2 months. But I feel fortunate after reading some of your stories. Best of luck and healing to you all.

I’m 7 weeks out and doing half caffeinated. It doesn’t hurt my stomach, but I can’t drink as much as I use to. -
Maybe... I hadn’t thought of the vitamins. I’m taking so many... Maybe I’ll go find sample bottles of mouthwash to see if I can find one that helps.

Hi all. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing a “filmy” feeling and taste in your mouth. I’m getting my water in, but I wake up every morning with a sweet (and not in a good way) coated feeling in my mouth. There have been times throughout the day that I get the same sensation. Kind of icky....

I'm 10 days out and feel the same way. Much easier time getting water down and taking vitamins.

Sleeve revision to bypass
BariatricBarb replied to Colorchic's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi bubbz, I had my surgery a week ago. I'm still sore and it's been a bit bumpy at times, but you expect that with surgery. The main thing is, NO REFLUX! I've been taking protonix (which causes bone loss long term) twice a day for over a year. Along with Tums, omeprasol and whatever else I could shove down my throat to stop the burning and nausea. It also seemed like I hadn't slept a full night in years. ALL Gone! I was worried about the surgery too. But as of now, I am so happy. And I can sleep all night! I'm so happy I did this!
