Fabulous !! I bet it feels GREAT! ????????????????????????
-
Ah MixxedFit you ask? It's an exercise class that has you doing dance moves people would do in the dance club (no twerking thank heaven !! Lol) ... To all the current popular music. Combines core muscles and cardio all in one. It makes me feel like I went out for a night of dancing without the alcohol. It is so much fun! After an hour you feel great .... You worked your butt off but you didn't notice until the end!
-
If you need a quick relief shot try 8-10 ounces of Magnesium Citrate and get rid of that pain and toxic feeling... Make sure your home for the results!! After that every few days of Mirolax works wonders ..... I learned all of this the hard way ????

I just got my band out too and got a sleeve. BEST decision ever! Fabulous decision and you will be so happy.
-
Ha funny! It's not where you are but where you will be! You rock already because you are already changing.
-
The fact that MOST people cannot do it on their own should comfort you ... I'm in that club too! Best decision I have ever made is the sleeve. Living for my daughter and showing her a healthy lifestyle is number one. I'm soooo happy you are on your journey. You should be proud of yourself right now as it is not an easy task and it's definitely NOT the cheaters way to loose weight. See you on the loser side darlin!

Feeling like a bit of a "Freak"!
Skylia replied to Shustar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Gosh STAY OFF THE SCALE!!! Lol I was obsessed and when you are not looking BAMB! You look like a new person. I too retained a lot of the IV fluid for few days and it went fast after. Right now I am seeing how the clothes fit different and how my body is changing more than that dang scale..... I still peek though !! -
I had the lap-band and now reversed that to a sleeve. I have MANY MANY people before me do the sleeve and are soooo successful. You are beautiful and will be just more amazing than you are with your new journey. It may not be exactly what you were prepared for but you have an awesome tool to begin your new birth into a healthy awesome life! No regrets. You are going to do great.
-
I cracked up! Honest to the point and funny ..... Scary too!!

You are beautiful inside and out. I absolutely hate the comment that surgery is the easy way or cheater way out. It absolutely is a lifetime commitment to change! I was amazed on the difference your shirt made on your appearance! You are so right! Not only do you look better but it increases self esteem to take care of yourself properly. Your videos are inspiring so keep them going ! You are awesome sauce !!!!! As far as liquids .... With working out you need a bare absolute minimum of 64oz a day of water. I hope you can get in more. The water and protein are going to help the healing process and the elasticity of the skin. My gym fun is Zumba and Mixxed Fit... I am so hooked that my next step is to become a Mixxed Fit instructor. Again keep the videos going.

I was given 3 weeks by my doctor. He is so wonderful he would have given me more but I don't want to abuse the work leave. I have a desk job too so it really has nothing to do with heavy lifting but working and dealing with the low energy and graduation into liquids to puréed to mushy food takes some getting used to. He really felt that someone needs to time to get their eating on track... No rushing, no mindless eating ... Stick to sipping and chewing. I'm all for it. My energy level is terrible as well so it's nice to have the time to work on that while I start up my work out programs again. After 3 weeks I will be absolutely ready.

Haven't told anyone...

I previously had a lap-band and had so many complications I decided to get it removed and get the sleeve done instead. I have had so many comments on losing weight the "cheating" way and why can't you just diet and exercise the weight off! If that worked all by itself I would have been thin years ago. I just got tired of the comments and so I chose to tell only my one friend that recommended the surgeon. My husband and mother think I got the band out and that is all. I choose to be happy without the drama ???????? -
Just had my sleeve yesterday.

Skylia replied to KD Achieve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats!!! It's nice to be a "loser" like the rest of us ... My surgery was after yours on 5/27. I just love it that people are noticing some changes like I'm sure they do with you as well. Nothing is better than health and success !! Way to go ???????? -
How awesome to have a built in support group with your mom! The anticipation is worse than anything. My surgery was 5/27 and went very well. I little heartburn yesterday but nothing bad. You will find you are not really hungry in the stomach it's the brain that is hungry. I'm excited for you and your mom. Congrats!

congratulations Sam 3789. The worst is over by day 2 and 3 in my opinion. I was so happy to go home. I hope you are doing great and walk walk walk sip sip sip ????????????

Yesterday was rough with rumbling. I took magnesium citrate and BOY did that help. I had really bad acid reflux and took the antacid the doc prescribed. Woke up this morning and feel fabulous! I am not having trouble sipping but I am not even trying to deviate from the diet plan. I don't want to test any limits after being so miserable with the band and going to the sleeve

Pro's & Con's of gastric sleeve surgery?
Skylia replied to Wantingtobeslimmer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just had my lap band removed and a sleeve done instead 2 days ago. I had all the same issues as you and just could not take it anymore. I have watched several co-workers do the sleeve and watching them closely before I made the plunge. They are doing great and have no issues. I can't tell you how happy I am and that darn port is gone!! Hated that thing every time I leaned on something! -
Pre-Op Procrastination!
Skylia replied to heatherfit4life2b's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of people I know including myself bought the premier protein drink premixed . 30 g of protein and 1 g sugar at Walmart. It's a little expensive but I pair that with a bariatric tailored powder protein I bought at the docs office ..you have to make sure it's an isolate. The premix might get you through until you can research the powder you want -
Making the decision. Band or Sleeve
Skylia replied to Tirnanog's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's a personal choice for sure because one is reversible and one it not. I was banded in 2009 and it was okay for about 9 months then it was nothing but trouble. I have so many adjustments , I can't even count, trying to find then"sweet spot" where you can eat with the proper restriction. I never got there. I lived on liquids and smoothies and ice cream sometimes for days because my stomach rejected everything else. So unhealthy. After years of randomly throwing up any food I got sick of it. 2 days ago I had a revision .. The band came out and I had a sleeve done. I am not the first either. Many of my band support group people have gone this way. If you asked my direct advice I would avoid the band altogether. It may be reversible but you have something foreign in your body for life. Not to mention the port hurts like hell any time you lean up on it. -
Any May 26th Sleevers out there?
Skylia replied to scoutmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am doing the Premier Shakes with no problem so far. I'm day 2 post op -
If you can stick to less , do so, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. You want successful weight loss ! although shrimp is not a hamburger and fries! ???? as long as you can keep to restrictions and don't feel hungry you will be a superstar!
-
May 27th here. I'm sure you are recovering right now... All the hard stuff is over and it's going to be great! Congratulations
-
I had my sleeve yesterday morning and sooo happy with it. It's an adjustment but I can't wait to continue the healthy journey. You are going to do fabulous and look fine fine fine and love the healthy you! So happy for you
