What happened in your relationship after surgery?
work2Bskinny replied to lisa0617's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok so now I'm going to be the bitch who says.... I did something for myself that made me healthier, and you didn't really support it, but now that I've lost 60 pounds in three months you are noticing how I've changed and liking it, but maybe I don't want to be with a guy who has no sense of self pride to become a healthier man!! I've made changes for the better, and you find it sexy....shouldn't you try to reciprocate?? -
How do I hoist these girls up!?
work2Bskinny replied to chunkyloverlovesyou's topic in The Gals' Room
I order my bras from bare necessities online. I find they have a great selection of sexy and practical bras and they always have sales! Currently to lift my girls I am wearing a great underwire Demi cup bra, by Felina. Once you know your size, I would check bare necessities out online. -
Sorry I missed weigh in last week, I was in Mexico for vacation. 8/17: 180 8/24: 177 Thanks Stephh!

I told my teaching colleagues and they have been so supportive!! I had my surgery two weeks before school got out and I only missed three days and two half days. Once you are walking after surgery, I didn't find it hard to go back to the classroom. I was tired at the end of the day, but it got easier and easier every day. I know it's hard to decide who to tell and how much to keep private. I made my decision because I don't want to live like I am doing something wrong. I had surgery to help a medical problem, and I'm proud that I made that decision for myself and my family. Being a teacher is different than working in an office...there is a bond that teachers form in a school that I consider most of my colleagues my second family. I hope you can find a solution that gives you the best shot at success!!

I am 7 weeks post-op and have lost 54 pounds. I had to wear a hideous dress as part of a wedding and when I was going through my closet I decided to try it on.... -
pre op support needed.
work2Bskinny replied to Peanutbutterlady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PBLady, I am on east coast in CT and I would be more than happy to support you through this...it has been the best decision I ever made! It is normal to want to share all of the emotions, and here you will find an awesome audience of support and friendship. Please feel free to reach out anytime! Amy -
One of the things I like to do to help my mind accept the new body is go to a store and try on clothes of different sizes. I pick on myself in front of the mirror at home in my own clothes, but when I go to a store and see I can now wear a different size, it makes me feel like I won the lottery of weight loss. It just helps me realize how far I have come....and that I am a work in progress.

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015
work2Bskinny replied to JosieAppleHead's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved June 8 and I am down 43 pounds! I forget to take vitamins sometimes, but my protein and water are good. I just started exercising.... Basically only eating protein...fish, chicken, steak, pork loin. Tried having some veggies and stomach handled it but I was already full. So I just have meat. The hardest thing for me is not being able to wash down my good as I eat. I usually drink and eat together, so not having the capability to drink as I eat is really hard especially when eating spicy things. Other than that, I have zero complaints. Having surgery was the best decision I've ever made! Keep up the good work everybody! -
I don't feel hungry ever...sometimes I have to remind myself that I need to have some protein. I am 5 weeks post -op.

Week 2 weigh in (7/20): 190 (6 pound loss)

I am 5 weeks post op from sleeve and I loved sweets before surgery....now I don't crave it, but it is still hard taking the kids for Dairy Queen and not having a Blizzard. Instead I have one bite of my daughter's, which is all my stomach will allow me to have before rejecting it, and I go home and have a sugar free Popsicle. I have lost 42 pounds in 6 weeks ( one week pre-op) and hat momentum alone is carrying my choices about food. You won't crave anything after surgery, but you still have to choose to not eat it. The one thing that helps is knowing that the stomach won't tolerate it....no one likes getting sick! Good luck and know that no matter how hard it might be to say "no thanks" to sugar, the WLS was the best decision I ever made for myself.

Hi Mel, I am same day sleeve and I am starting my exercise routine as well. I am down 38 pounds and I stalled this week, so time to change it up! I have eaten a variety of foods, my favorites right now being seafood and for snack teriyaki turkey jerky. Can't handle rice, bread, raw salad type veggies, and sugary things...my only cheat thus far has been a small margarita made with lime crystal light and tequila (tiny amount) and it took me 4 hours to finish it!! Still working it, good to hear you are too...

What does it feel like?
work2Bskinny replied to misswhitneym's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with Ava. Sometimes eating too fast can cause the slime, sometimes eating too much causes the slime, and sometimes eating the wrong things (carbs, sugars) makes the slime. I cannot tolerate rice or bread at all. I had 2 tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant and it ruined the whole meal. I think it's a learning process...I tried sushi, and body did not like rice, so now I order sashimi. Also, it helps that I don't let myself get to the point where I know I'm hungry...cause I will eat too fast and then feel like crap. I keep teriyaki turkey jerky with me as a quick protein when I get that way. -
I am a teacher and took 3 full days off and 2 half days before I went back full time.

June 8th sleeve...things no one told me
work2Bskinny posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All, Well I'm officially sleeved as of Monday! Still in hospital as I write this. My doctor told me I would have gas pain, but he never told me that gas pain would feel like I was giving birth! It hurts like contractions and I cannot take pain meds as I end up vomiting them. Really rough start. Still can't even handle water, and I'm on nausea medicine whenever I want. They gave me suppository for the gas pain to try and help it, and it does feel a bit better today. I'm up and walking every hour. No Problems there. The stitches don't hurt, belly doesn't hurt, just severe gas pain for two days, and a lot of dry heaving. Not fun for sure. Not sure if body didn't like being under or what, but this has been a lot harder than what I was told. Hopefully it will be better today. Amy -
Post op & eating in public!
work2Bskinny replied to maxinee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@maxinee my surgeon did the same thing. He created a nutrition book with all the diet stages, pre-op and post-op way of life and a chapter of questions and answers that have come up in the past. It is my Bible too!
