I drink sometimes 4 cups of coffee a day. Starbucks is always welcome as well lol and have no problem drinking a grande. Have no issues with coffee after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was sleeved June 5th. I am 5'4 and weighed 238 when I had surgery. I have lost 27 lbs to date. Definitely not really getting 60g of protein.. I only have that much when I exercise. Otherwise on a normal day I get around 40-50g. Trying to get my fluid Intake up too. I have been doing very well with low carb/ high protein diet. Have been eating chicken/cheese roll ups and eggs and other yummy foods high in protein. Also have just started this week walking for 45 mins a day. Definitely all helping. So enjoying this process. Try weighing only once a week.. Sometimes I stall for 5 days and then lose 4 lbs In a day.

I have a very severe hiatal hernia with Gerd although I didn't really notice the symptoms before I had my endoscopy. I am now 10 days post op and take omeprazole daily. I have not had any Gerd although my surgeon thought I would.

It will get better trust me! I am post op day 10 and feeling awesome. Back to work and I am a nurse so it is pretty crazy. Up until day 3 I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life. Gas pains were unbearable!! Go to cvs and buy chewable simethicone- it really made things much better for me and got rid of the discomfort.

What do you do when your family eats meals?
Cdagradi1 replied to heavyb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is very hard. I feel like everything my boyfriend cooks is so aromatic and I want him to suffer with me but I can't have that lol. I try and just tell myself it is temporary. Before we know it we will be eating actual food. I began to realize how much of the hunger was all mental. I constantly drink as my family drinks meals.. Usually unsweetened iced tea with lemon. I try and focus on the positive and think about how fast your weight loss will be. We spent so much money on this procedure and really committed to it. We need to follow the rules and make it work. Good luck! -

Lol I am 9 days out and feel the same way!

I had the same problem! I am a nurse and I went to cvs and bought simethicone chewable tablets. They worked miracles for me. I took 2 and woke up the next day feeling like a new person. You won't believe how much of the pain is just from gas. I am day 9 now and feeling 100% back to normal no discomfort. Feel better!

I didn't drink any protein for 3 or 4 days. It was too much for me and I just couldn't tolerate it. It was hard enough getting in water. I only drank maybe 20-30oz the first 2 days and increased a little day 3. I am day 9 now and doing so much better. Things really turned around after day 4 - I woke up a new person! The pain in your esophagus and stomach goes away because the inflammation goes away as you heal. Just drink what you can and make sure your urine isn't too dark. You are recovering and laying low so you don't need to much to get by. I was fine. Feel better and hang in there! It totally gets better.

Chest pain when swallowing
Cdagradi1 replied to Zachnchrissy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is definitely normal. I experienced the same terrible pains. It made it very hard to get liquids down. Luckily for me it all got so much better after day 4. I am now on day 9 and feel 100% back to normal and don't get those pains. If it is gas- I went to cvs and bought chewable simethicone and it changed my life that day lol it got rid of all the pains in my chest and abdomen. Good luck -
