    Question for veterans

So I'm correct about the reason being people start to fall back into old habits? Sorry, I didn't want to assume that you were agreeing with me!
  3. I wonder why some people have a harder time recovering from surgery as well as being able to take in the recommended fluids?

    Recovery

    That makes sense!
  5. Is it possible to stretch pouch during liquid diet phase? I feel like I'm able to drink more liquids than most and I'm afraid that I will stretch it.

    Stretching pouch

I'm in first phase. Full liquid diet. And I just had the sleeve
  7. Hi. I'm going to send you a friends request to be added to the group. My name on Facebook is shown as Jenn Goldberg
  8. Hi I hope everyone is in good health today. My surgery was scheduled for tomorrow morning but had to be rescheduled to July 17th. I'm feeling really disappointed and I know I have no choice but to wait. I'm trying my best to accept that I have to wait about 3 weeks and feel content that I'm still getting the surgery. I know if anyone can relate to what I'm feeling it would be my fellow sleevers. Please share some words of wisdom. Thank you in advance.
  9. Hi. My surgery was supposed to be today! But had to be rescheduled for July 17th. How do we make the time go by faster?!!

    Looking for comforting words

Thank you for sharing. I guess it could be worse! I should feel grateful that I'm still having the surgery.
  12. I liked the results I had from the band. Felt like a completely different person emotionally and physically. It just caused too many problems. I hope that I have the same results with the sleeve as I did with the band just without the complications!
  13. Hi. I had the band in January 2010 and lost a significant amount of weight. At that time I was covered under blue shield of California who paid for it. A few years later I switched insurance to anthem blue cross of California. In August 2013 my band slipped and since I wasn't aware of the sleeve at the time I just had it removed and anthem paid for it. A couple years later I have gained quite a bit of weight back and it's a major struggle. Even though it's been almost two years would I be considered a revision/conversion and would anthem pay for it even though original surgery was paid for by different insurance? Thanks in advance
  14. I had band paid for by blue shield of California. A few years later it slipped and I changed to anthem blue cross of California PPO who paid for band removal. Do you think since they paid for removal my chances of getting approved for sleeve is good?

    Life is great!

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. But I'm glad to hear that you are doing better and was able to still get the sleeve.
  16. Almost two years ago I had my band taken out after having it for three years due to it slipping twice. I was able to get to my goal weight with it however, I've been struggling with weight gain. This morning I found out that my insurance approved my sleeve surgery. I feel so fortunate and grateful.

  19. Hi I know everyone is different but I will be getting sleeved next month and I need to lose a total of 50 pounds. How long do you think it will take me?
  20. I just found that my insurance paid for my nutritional consult. Is this a good sign that I have a good chance of being approved for surgery?

    On pins and needles

My surgeons office will be submitting pre auth to my insurance anthem blue cross of California PPO tomorrow with a bmi of 36 sleep apnea and high cholesterol. I really hope I get approved
  22. I already had consult with surgeon and bmi already determined. Since then I have lost a few pounds. Will my surgeon still do the surgery? I know no one can speak for my particular surgeon but can anyone speak from experience? Thank you in advance.

    Insurance coverage for new procedure

I had my band removed two years ago and now want to get the sleeve. I'm thinking insurance will consider it a brand new surgery
