11.13.2009 WAS MY NEW BEGiNiNG. i HAD My P0ST 0P APP0iNTMENT THiS M0RNiNG. My PRE OP WEiGHT WAS 334. MY WEiGHT 0N T0DAy WAS 313. :-) 21 P0UNDs iN 7 DAyS. YAy ME! THE WEEK HAS BEEN KiNDA ROUGH. FROM GAS PAiNS TO UNCOMFORTABLE SLEEPiNG. EVERY DAy iT GETS BETTER, & iM HAPPy. My SURGEON SAiD iM HEALiNG FiNE & TO START MUSHiES 0N MONDAy. ANY 1 WiTH "MUSHy FOOD" iDEAS PLEASE HELP. LOL. K. Wow what a long day. I went to the doctors office @ 7am. You know they take forever to do things lol but it was okay I was jus happy my day had finally arrived. My surgeon was Dr. Tashjian. He asked me to get on the scale and smh I weighed in at 334 pounds. I can tell he was a little disappointed. He told me that if he goes in and see's a fatty liver he will not operate. He said if you wake up and have 1 patch instead of 5 I wasn't able to do the surgery. When I first woke up in recovery the first thing I felt for was those 5 patches. Lol and they where there. I was so happy but in so much pain, I wanted to cry but I thought it might hurt more if I did. I got dressed and went home. I decided to wait till I got home to put in my prescription for my liquid vicodin, because my surgery was in Beverly Hills, CA. About an hour & 15 Mins from where I live. What a terrible mistake. It was so hard to find a pharmacy that carried it. 8 hours after I left the doctors office I am finally getting my medicine. Jus waiting for it to kick in. The pain was really bad, but im thankful cuz I know it coulda been worse. It hurts when I burp, and when I started throwin up ouch!!!!! To make things worse I started my menstrual. Sheesh wat a friday the 13th. Again im very happy and pleased and today starts my new life. I love all you guys, these forums have been my inspiration for the last yr and a half. Any banders in the inland empire area please feel free to contact me, I would love the support.

LoL im so excited I can't help but tell every1. It gets better everyday but I still have some undesirable pains. I think it woulda been nice having a 2 night hospital stay. But anyways I tried the pre-op diet and I failed miserably. I think its my lack of will power. Now having got the lap band already and losing weight I really wish I could have followed the pre-op diet, because I would have been at a higher weight loss number.

Thanks every1 for your support. Im doing well. Just gas pains omg. But today is day 4 and im down 12 pounds. Im soo excited. Im not even really hungry. It takes like 30 mins for me to eat a jello. I need to get more calories in though. In my opinion at least. I didn't have a bowel movement until today.(tmi) im sorry! I was getting a lil scared. But I drank a lil apple juice and I think it helped. Im so happy.

Hey everyone. First and foremost let me just say all of you are wonderful and reading your post everyday keeps me going. Anywho im a 21 year old college student. Im currently 5'2 300 pounds. How did I gain so much weight? It all started when I was 4 years old. I was molested by my step uncle. Then when I was 6 I started being molested by my step father, then at 11 by my step cousin. Yes all these people in the same family. About the age of 10 I was tired of being molested and I felt if I made myself a fat & ugly person that it would turn them off. So I started gaining weight rapidly. So now at 21 years old looking in the mirror is a constant reminder of my past and what happened to me!!!! And im ready to change it!!! AS 0F Right now I do believe im a very beautiful girl with a pretty face (picture below) but with a horrible body. I started my lap band surgery in january or 2008. Then I found out my insurance didn't cover it. So I gave up. Then in may of 2009 I inquired again with my new insurance. I now have blue cross blue shield of minnesota. They required a 6 month medically suprivised diet. I was so in a rush that I was upset that I would have to wait 6 more months. I just got a call about 5 mins ago. IM APPROVED!!!!!!!! Last year (2008) in january I tried getting the lap band. And the medical office that was going to perform the surgery was not very helpful at all. So I kinda gave up. I was watchin tv and saw that 1800-get-slim commercial for the lap band and I called. Well today I went for a siminar & they where so nice. I found out my bmi was 59!!! :-( but the doctor made me feel better when he told me my stomach wasn't super big I jus have a lot of arm fat, leg fat, and a huge amount of breast weight. So he wants me to get a breast reduction BEF0RE the lap band. (im a 54ddd) And guess what? My insurance company gave them approval for my lap band, tummy tuck, and breast reduction. I jus broke out in happy tears, they even gave me my physc evaluation today to, and on may 30th I have to go to beverly hills,ca (where the surgery will be performed) to get my blood work, ekg, and endoscopy(when they stick a camera down your throat) done. Im so happy! The receptionist said she'll call tomorrow & set up a appointment with the plastic surgeon. The doctor said he thinks its better to get the breast reduction now rather then later because the insurance company will consider it cosmetic If I wait. I guess my journey begans here, and I would like to thank you all for the inspirational blogs, and threads, they give me hope.
