    Unflavored protein powder

Here's my favorite, Now Foods whey Protein Isolate, that I get from Amazon. I've been using it for months now and really like it for smoothies and colder foods. It does not do that well with hot foods, however. http://www.amazon.com/Foods-Whey-Protein-Isolate-Packaging/dp/B0015AQL1Q?ie=UTF8&keywords=now%20foods%20whey%20protein%20isolate&qid=1463600919&ref_=sr_1_1_a_it&sr=8-1

    Bulgur

I started having kibbe nayeh, which has a lot of bulgur, about three months out and its a staple of my diet, I haven't had any issues, although I am careful about how much eat because it's so high in carbs.

Almost at the 4 year mark.

Congratulations on your continued success. It's really inspiring for those of us much earlier on in the process to see that keeping the weight off is possible! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Boxers Don't Lie

I'm a big fan of exofficio boxer briefs. Expensive but well worth it. While my weight was in free fall I didn't buy any (I just bought what I could find cheap at Sierra Trading). Pre surgery I was an XXL and I'm now using their size S. When I bought an S, i did it as a joke, and then I tried it on and it fit!! So i just bought a whole lot more, after all - they don't get any smaller than size S!

    Constant Hiccups

In the first six/eight weeks after surgery, hiccups were my signal to stop. That and a runny nose. After the second month post op, the hiccups passed but the runny nose is still a tell tale sign that I am too full.

    Sex drive

As you lose weight quickly, the testosterone and other hormones stored in your fat gets released as well and increased sex drive (and aggression and anger) happen. Lots of great threads about the wondrous effects of WLS in sex drive and performance! Here's one - http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/219760-sex-oh-my-god-sex/

    Hiccups

I used to hiccup when I was full. After a while, I learned to stop before reaching the hiccup point.

    Need advice pls....

Congrats on losing 27 lbs so far! Don't stress about the pace of weight loss. It will come off when it comes off. If you stick to the basic guidelines given to you and get in your Water, Protein and exercise, you'll do fine. This is not a sprint and there is no bigger reward for those that lose fast versus those that lose slow. Good luck!
  20. Every part of my life has been changed, for the better, thanks to the surgery. No more pain or exhaustion! Lots of energy! A whole new life! The best - feeling that the future is open and full of possibilities versus feeling that my physical condition limited me.

    My doc never mentioned this..

Unfotunately I am a slow learner so foamies and vomiting have happened over the past nine months. However, every time it did occur was because I ate something or in a way I shouldn't. The foamies went away after the first few months (hopefully because I learned how to eat). As for vomiting, my sleeve is picky and that's how it lets me know a particular food choice is not appreciated. On a couple of occasions I ate too much, too quickly and my stomach let me know it. Could it happen, especially if you push the envelope - yes. But you learn what you can and can't do. It's all part of the process, and if it does happen to you, a small price to pay for the incredible results.

    Cerviche

@@goplay94123, I was allowed to add meats to my diet at about 2 months and I had carpaccio at that point. Once you are cleared for meats, you can try it, but go really slowly at first as sometimes the things we tolerate pre- surgery don't work post. I also tried tuna sashimi at that time and it worked well. Salmon took a couple of months more until I could eat it and it didn't feel really heavy. One thing, I've only been able to tolerate the arugula added to carpaccio since eight months post surgery. I just asked for carpaccio without it. Bon appetit!

    Cerviche

Ceviche and sashimi have been a staple for me since surgery. I also eat a lot of carpaccio and tartare from different meats. Turns out that my system does waaaay better with raw Protein than cooked, so I have been really enjoying them.

    Complications?

Nine months out and no complications. It's not easy, but the many advances you feel, both in weight loss and in life, make the difficulty worth it. You'll develop a new relationship with food and with yourself that takes some getting used to, but you get there. All in all, totally worth it and my only regret is that I did not do this sooner.
