    Alcohol

I used to love gin and tonic, it was my absolute favourite drink. I tried it 6 months out and after one little sip I knew I would not be able to drink it again. The tonic is the problem as it is fizzy. Never liked gin with flat tonic so now I have a glass of red wine maybe once a week. To be honest if I never drink again it would be no big deal. Its mostly other folk who don't like it if you don't or wont have a drink with them.

    No Pre Op Diet

I did it have a pre op diet but I put myself on soup for the last two days before op and then nothing after 10am morning of surgery. I've lost over 80 lb since July 16 2015.

Best of luck to you coming from me here in Wales. You will do fine. Please keep us all posted on how you are doing and feeling, and remember its a big steep hill you have climbed, but after the op its all downhill! Keep walking as much as you can after the op is the best advice I can give you. I will be thinking of you Chris

I had my op July 16 2015 lost 86 lb and feel great. I have found this web site so helpful and I love reading about other folks and how they are doing. Just started the c25k after reading jamielogicals post and I wish all the best to my fellow sleevers.

I was the same. In the end when the surgeon came round to see me before the op I just felt as if it was all a dream. I did not even have a pre op relaxer injection !

    Taking off my fat suit

That is just fantastic, very well done..I'm on 88 lb lost and I would be very happy to lose another 12. My surgery date was 16 th July 2015 so you are a bit ahead of me, I'm aiming for the 100 by then. If I get there I think I will probably try to maintain at that. My bmi is 29 and to get to 25 I need to get down to 10 stone 2 which is a bit low for me. Still I will see how I go. I have started c25k two weeks ago so hopefully that will help. Glad you had a fab holiday !
  18. Im with Kaitlynm on this one. I completely understand that you feel ashamed that you had to have the surgery to be successful. I was exactly the same. I have told very few people about the surgery because I do not want to hear Oh you took the easy way out. It was not an easy option, and I do find some days are harder than others. However I am very glad I did take this road, and I am sure you feel the same. Let them think what they like, you did this for you and yours, so stick to it. You are doing great!

Beginners Guide to Running for the Obese

I've just started the couch25k after reading these posts. 12 months ago I could not even think about it. Jamielogical you are my inspiration !
  21. Steven I'm still laughing from your post ! Keep up the good work, and best regards coming to you from Wales UK
  22. I did not make a list but I had several things in my mind . One of the most important ones for me was to be able to look after my little grand daughter. I don't think I could do that and be fun grandma at my original weight. I also wanted to feel better about myself and how I wanted my life to be. The clothes of course,, it has been thrilling going down into smaller sizes and being able to shop in normal shops. This op has made me a better person, not so grumpy and tired now !
