I need to do this, no matter what
chrisredjeep replied to Micoxv's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to see you are getting to grips with it all. I'm finding it a bit more difficult than I thought it would be here in Cyprus and being away from home. However I am getting up and doing my C25k so that's a plus. I have started to eat a bit more fruit too as it is all too easy to eat the sweet biscuits that my other half has bought in from the supermarket. -
Lipstick lady is right about the sport bra. I've not long started c25k and even though I'm on holiday in Cyprus I'm still running the programme. Well done you on signing up for a half marathon !

Anyone not have to do 2 weeks diet pre op?
chrisredjeep replied to Janiegirl1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have to do it either here in UK. I know that lots over here have had to follow a 2 week diet. I actually put myself on soup two days before my operation and of course nothing after midnight only water on the morning of surgery -
Thanks for the shout out Dub you are not doing too bad yourself! Rosie I would say my worst hurdle was learning to eat slower. I still do eat quicker than I should but I have learnt to my cost that if I don't slow down I will get the foamies or excess saliva which means a trip to bathroom. Not sick but just very unpleasant. Apart from that I would say it's been mainly plain sailing. I know some sleevers have a bad time of it but I was very fortunate .

I am in Cyprus at the moment. I am sitting down in the same place as I was one year ago. Then I was waiting for my appointment with the surgeon which was set for 26 th May. Being self pay I was able to say what date would be best for me and my surgery date was 16 th July 2015. As the old song goes what a difference a year makes ! Last year I was almost 18 stone today I am 11 stone 7 lb and still slowly losing. I am so happy I did this, so if anyone is reading this thinking about it, get sleeved !

Thanks Micoxv and Rosie cheeks . You will get there in the end.! I'm doing week 6 of C25k so getting up early to avoid the sun. Think I have startled a few dogs and early morning risers here in the village of Catalkoy! N Cyprus

I've got loads of loose skin but I'm 63 so don't think there is much I can do about it now. It's mostly covered up tho so I don't mind too much. Have a look at kinda familiars post re "arse cream" it will make you smile if nothing else!

In reply to the question about the runs I was the other way did not go for quite a while ! Mind as lipstick lady says never trust a fart. I think it is probably quite normal what happened , jet be aware so that you limit the damage !

This can not be correct! (Bra talk)
chrisredjeep replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When I started off in July 16 2015 I was a 42 dd . October 23 rd I went to a specialist boutique bra shop and came out with 36 ff . The difference in how I looked was amazing. Went back to the same shop last week and now I am a 34 ff . I was never one for being measured but these woman know their stuff and I am delighted with how my bosoms look under a t shirt or blouse. Go and be measured, the bit of embarrassment you may feel is worth it for how you will look after -

I need to do this, no matter what
chrisredjeep replied to Micoxv's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes it's very difficult when you are not in your home environment and I can imagine India to be a challenge. I go to Goa in December but by that time it will be 17 months so not so hard. I'm going to Cyprus tomorrow for three weeks but it should not be too difficult as I'm a good way out now and there are plenty of European restaurants there plus I am staying at a property we own there so quite easy really. I will be taking protein bars as I have not seen them for sale there. You are doing really well and you are aware of the pitfalls that are out there waiting to catch us out! Just try and plan ahead and do the best you can Enjoy India it's a real culture shock ! -
You look great ! Well done to you

I need to do this, no matter what
chrisredjeep replied to Micoxv's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I remember the first time I had the foamies. For me I was about 6 weeks out . I was on holiday and we went out for a meal . I ate too much too quickly and that was my mistake . The pain and discomfort were real and frightening . I know now that if I do the same again that it will happen again. Things do improve and we learn what we can and can't do . Take all you will need to India and you will be fine . Slow and steady and you will get there you are doing very well -
I know that feeling . You will be so happy to get home and know that the op is over and done with
-
Glad to hear you are feeling good. Just got back from week 4 day 3 c25k. Was thinking of you. Guess what - you will be walking and doing the activity of your choice soon enough. No one was more of a sloth than me! Best wishes from sunny Pembrokeshire Wales
