The stomach being reduced helps with feeling hungry but the surgery does not mentally change your cravings.

Anyone try jalapeños peppers?
queencity replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am hispanic so i often eat hot sauce and jalapeños. Everything i eat has to be spicy if not i feel like the food is not good. I guess i will have to see how i tolerate spicy food including jalapeños after my surgery and when i start solids. Good luck, that does sound delicious! -
My insurance did not require weight loss but my NUT did ask me to lose any weight i could so in 3 months i lost 9 pounds.

lucky you! One more day and i have 12 more to go . I would try to distract myself maybe go to the mall and look at the clothes that you will want to wear once you are at your goal weight, or read a book. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow

I would just do my best to go back down to at least 190 and then try to maintain that weight. I know its hard and when i have surgery and get to my lowest weight the battle is to maintain that weight for like forever ????. I wish you luck ! -

November Sleevers
queencity replied to brittneywlsj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is Nov 9th. Yesturday was the first day of liquid diet and it was easy peasy. I feel like i am too excited to be complaining of being hungry. But you never know, i may lose my mind in the next few days since ny NUT said that first 2-3 days are the worse. -

Yes, most definitely keep in touch. I will let you know how my surgery went and also how i am doing with my preop liquid diet. I know most people would have a food funeral but i chose to eat a delicious but healthy dinner . -
My surgery is also on the 9th, i also drink 2-3 protein drinks and was told to have a cup of homemade chicken broth (which i am cooking now for the entire week) or cream of chicken or mushroom. We both start tomorrow

Blue Cross Blue Shield
queencity replied to wlscanise's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have bcbsnc which does not require a 3 or 6 month diet. But the NUT does have to clear you for surgery after you do everything she ask which may include to lose some weight. After my request for surgery was recieved by bcbsnv they approved within 3 days. -
I am here in Charlotte, my surgeon is dr. Vollianger ( southeast bariatrics) with novant health. What time is your surgery? Mine is at 10 am?

November 10th Surgery Date!
queencity replied to mokt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mother, sister, and dad were all begging me to look into surgery. I am scared of needles which is one of the reasons i couldnt think about surgery (literally hate needles). But i looked into it and told my mom i am choosing to have surgery and out of the blue she told me my dad and sister talked it out and decided to pay for the surgery so i wont have to get a loan and stress about surgery and paying back the loan. They cant wait until i have surgery. -

Well, I've been yelled at today.
queencity replied to Snowbutterfly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When i went to my initial consultation i was told if i miss more than one appointment they could drop me. I would understand why, i had to wait 6 weeks for initial consultation and almost 2 months for another appointment i cant remember. Try not to forget because a lot of people would have wanted to go to that appointment and the surgeons office see it as a lost of revenue.
