I have lived in Iowa for 90% of my life I lived in Austin, TX for about 3 years in the late 80's. I have struggled with my relationship with weight and food for the vast majority of my life and am looking for a better solution to solving this issue in my life. I am completely inspired by my wife because she has had a sleeve gastrostomy and has managed to loose 110 lbs.  I have been talking with my primary care doc about this for over two years but because I was not always the most "compliant" patient with my blood sugars and med regimen. That's why I think she hadn't documented our conversations about the surgery and because of that the conversations we did have weren't exactly what the insurance was looking for. So I needed to do a six month diet and exercise consultation with my doc.  As frustrating as that was to hear that  it was exactly what I needed because it allowed my the time to go to nearly 10 different support groups sessions between my surgery group and my wife's.  It really helped me get my head around what is exactly about to happen to my MIND AND BODY.  I am looking very forward to having this over as is almost everyone else I 've met or heard of waiting to have. the surgery.  So I wish great things to everyone going through with the surgery and the one's still waiting, and will try to be a great support person to all who have decided to actually taken the time to read through my note here and shown interest in being friends and being support for each other.   Thank You and Hope to be your friend....
