I am not sure what to do. I waited 6 months to get my first fill and I lost 52 pounds. I have had two fills since then and I have gained 10 pounds because I have no restriction and I have gone back to eating crappy. I still don't drink soda anymore but I feel like I can't stop eating. I feel like a huge failure. I do want to call my doc tomorrow and get another fill and I hope that this one will work. There are sometimes that I feel like the food won't go down but that is rare. I am not sure what to do.....

I have found a way for me to lose weight and it is a good cause. I am doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on May 17th and 18th in Boston. It is a 30 mile walk over two days. I have been training for four weeks now and I walk 4-5 miles a day 4 times a week. I can feel my clothes getting looser and I am so psyched that this is a great way to exercise. Now if would just not be so cold out it would make walking a little easier!!!

Good Luck!! I am doing the Avon two day walk in Boston on May 17th and 18th. Walking everyday has really helped with the weight loss. It is so easy to drink all the water that I am supposed to.

I am afraid to say this but I am terrified to get my first fill. I had the surgery on Dec 12, 2007. I didn't have a two week check up but had a one month check up in January. The doctor said that I was doing so well that she didn't think I needed a fill. I wanted to make an appointment for February, but they didn't have anything available until March 13. I have lost over 30 pounds since then I am struggling as to whether I should get a fill yet. All this sliming and PBing scares the crap out of me. I could use a little advice as to what you all think. Thanks alot!:blushing:

I think that it is amazing that you work out, whatever you can. Some people never work out and complain that the band is not working for them.

I have my first fill on March 13th. That is the soonest the DR. could see me. Apparently everyone wants a fill in Boston!! I had my surgery on Dec 11th and because it was aroung XMAS they decided to push back my two week follow up till Jan 11th. It was really frustrating. The dr was impressed that I lost 15 pounds in that first month and I was a little afraid of getting a fill so I asked if it would be ok not to get one. She was fine and said it was up to me. I have lost more weight, my only problem is that I still drink when i eat. I am still afraid of a fill but now i want one, just to get over my fear I guess. I like how in touch your dr. has been.

There is no way that I could make it now either!!! I am just trying to walk each day and each day I go a little further. It may sound corny, but I get my inspiration from women who have survived or are going through this and yet they are walking in this as well. I can't sit on the couch and say...Not today.

It is a two day 39 mile walk. I have been walking for awhile now, but I am still a little nervous. It is a big committment, but I think this is what I needed to start me on the right path to exercising.

I decided that I needed a kick in the butt to make myself work out. My sister was diagnosed with breast Cancer in January of '07, so I decided to sign up for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I will be walking in May 17th and 18th, so I have been training by walking every day and it is actually working. Now I am losing weight and helping a great cause! It is very hard to get motivated sometimes, and sometimes you have to take drastic measures.

Has anyone had this done in Massachusetts?

I had my done at New England Medical Center with Dr. Kim. She was awesome! -
Hi everyone, I was banded on the 11th of Dec. I lost 23 pounds by the time I had my checkup which was Jan 11. They couldn't do the two week because it was X-Mas. I asked the doctor if I had to have a fill and she said not right now if i did not want one. I am eating less than I ever did before. I can't get in to see the docotr for a fill until March 13, which is way too long, but they said I could call every week to see if there is a canceled appointment. I feel like I could eat more but for some reason I don't. I am still losing weight, just not as fast as I did right after surgery. I just don't want to gain weight.

Hi Carab, I would call your doctor and let them know what you have found. Make sure you don't touch it. Good luck.

I agree..a NG tube is not a breathing tube, however, I work in an ER and I have seen them put many NG tubes in. Some people are unconcious but for the most part people are concious, and would be able to tell them they have a band. -
I don't know the calorie count on the premade omelette, I for got to look. I was in a ruch at the store and just picked one up. The thing I like is that it is 4oz so I son't have to think. I also got some egg beater cups that are 4 oz already measured. Just pour it in and ffry it up. I also got some low sugar ketchup that wasn't as bad as I though it would be.

Called the DR's office all day today and nobody was home!!! I guess I will stay on the liquid phase for the third week. I am eating a little mashed potatoes but not alot. I was going to visit my parents this weekend...I live on Nantucket where there are no fast food places. I am afraid to leave the island right now. I will wait until I can eat soft foods to visit the parents. -
I work in an ER and we send alot of people upstairs to surgery. It is perfectly normal to be afraid. I was when I went in for surgery. I had told my family and friends that I wanted to do it alone. I was scared shitless by the time I was in the pre-op area. The main thing I thought about was my goal jeans....The ones that were hanging on my closet door. There was no way in hell I was going to die before I wore those pants!!! Then the nice nurse came and gave me drugs and I was afraid no more!!

I have called my DRs. office three times already and nobody has called me back regarding moving on to the next phase of eating. I am trying again tomorrow and I am going to be a b@#$ until they tell me what I want to know. -
Hi there, I was banded on 12/11/07. I was doing fine on Xmas until I got to work in th ER. I passed up all the meat and goodies.....until I saw the biscuits...Damn that bread. I had one....then a small bite of a brownie......then three hours later I had another biscuit. I was horrible that I messed up, I had done so well. I am sorry that we all slipped but glad that I am not alone. Today has been all liquids, so so far so good.

I felt bad because on Christmas night I was was working in the ER. OMG there was so much food there. I was really good........until I saw the biscuits. Damn that bread! I had two little ones. I felt like crap...not for eating them but for cheating. I am over it now, trying not to dwell and went straight to liquids again today. I am two weeks post op and my checkup would have been on Xmas. They scheduled me for Jan 10. I am trying to get ahold of my DR. to see if I can move to the next phase.

I really blew it. I was banded on the 11th of December and I started off ok this morning. I had a small amount of scrambled eggs witha very small crescent roll. I know, but I couldn't help it. I work the night shift at the hospital in the er and it just got worse. I have had two biscuits and a small brownie. Now I feel like crap. Not from eating but from cheating. I swear I am going to straight liquids tomorrow. I am just worried what I did to my band.
-
O.K. I am sure this is a stupid question and I know the DR. probably told me....but where is my port? I feel a lump on the left by my belly button. But I have a larger incision under my left breast. I am a little confused. I was banded on Dec 11, and I am feeling great. I am just a little sore if I lean forward for too long. Thanks alot.

Mine was the fact that my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at age 37, I was 38. My mom and my brother have Diabetes, my dad had his first heart attack at 47 and now has an internal defib. I felt that I was walking around with a target on my back.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I am going to call the office but I am not sure if anyone is going to be there since it will be Xmas Eve. I am over my craving of Diet Coke. I don't even crave it anymore. I would however kill my mother for a Burger King doublecheeseburger!!!! However I am lucky because I live on a tiny island with no fast food restaurants. But OMG those cravings come out of the blue. I hope everyone has a great holiday.
