  1. I'm nervous about attending this seminar on Saturday. I mean I was just outside on break at work thinking about this. I'm going to be going to a seminar where there is going to be bigger people there than me and I'll look skinny compared to them and they will be looking at me like why the hell are you here. lol :rolleyes Well I have a BMI of 41.6 and I'm only 5 foot 5inches. I carry my weight in my upper body, I have skinny calves and ankles and little hands and wrists. I look like I'm carrying around two tires one on top of the other and big boobies and a broad back. So I'm just wondering if anyone has felt like this before going to a seminar..I mean I really WANT AND NEED this surgery, but I dont want to be stared at like you arent that big why the hell are you here. Do ya know what I mean? :faint: blessings

    Lapband And Pcos

I also have PCOS and Insulin Resistance and believe me it's extremely hard to lose weight now, I cant imagine if it's going to work with the band. :cool:So I'm very skeptical...I mean I have no problem w/ exercising and weights and eating right. With the insulin resistance it doesnt matter what I eat whether healthy or not...my body immediately stores it. So I'm hoping that getting the lapband will kick my metabolism into gear and help me burn all this crap that my body has been storing for yrs and yrs.

    Nervous About Attending Seminar

  5. K I would first like to say to the doctors..."Who in their right mind keeps track of all their diets they have tried in their teens and young adulthood???" Went to the seminar today and now I'm sitting here racking my brain on my desk trying to figure out all the diets I have ever tried in my life. I'm actually starting to get a headache from thinking  I have tried so many diets I cant hardly remember them all but they said put down as many as you can, it will help get approved. I am also looking over all the stuff that they look for in the psych eval and my head is just spinning!!! Someone help please!!! :myscared:

  8. Hello, well tomorrow is the seminar and I'm at work trying to think up things to ask, but I guess the nerves are destroying brain cells. I cant seem to think...I only got 3 questions written down... 1. In your experience have patients that have PCOS and pre-diabetic find it still extremely difficult to lose weight w/ the band? 2. How many patients have had problems w/ band and have to have it removed? 3. How many bands have you done? They sound TOTALLY LAME dont they?? I know there is tons of stuff I want to know and ask, but for the life of me I cant think of them...damn it!!! LOL Please help me!!!

    excited nervious and impatient

Welcome to LBT! I totally know what you mean about ppl being negative, that's why I'm not telling too many ppl. I mean if half of our friends knew how many times we've tried to diet and keep it off, they would understand why we are going this route. I KNOW this is going to work for me, I know I can do this....and I want and need to do it...not for my friends, family, husband, son..but FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blessings to you and keep us well informed of your progress...BTW I'm pre-band...my seminar is saturday!!

    Hello Everyone

Hey I just started the process of going to a seminar. Mine is scheduled for Jan 12th in Topeka, KS. I have done all the research I possibly can and still learning more off of this site everyday. DH is very supportive too, he's just worried that I'm not gonna get enough nutrients and I've assured him I've thought that out and I'm gonna make sure to stay on liquid Vitamins etc and eat correctly. I do correctly now to a point, I also have PCOS and insulin resistance and one slice of cheesecake away from diabetes. So I'm right with ya girl that I dont think the insurance counts PCOS women not able to lose weight a factor in their decision, but I have heard it helps a little. I have also spoken to my insurance company and they told me that they dont require anything, it's the doctor's that require the seminar and psych eval and all the other hoops ya gotta go through to get this surgery. Spoke to the doc's nurse and she said that if I get the packet mailed in and the psych eval done after I attend a seminar and depending on my insurance I should get the surgery in 3- 4 months..so I'm crossing my fingers.... Welcome to LBT and I'm sorry for rambling on like I have. blessings

    New

First off welcome to LBT!! 40 lbs since August is great. Well I'm speaking my opinion here...but is your doctor fat, has he/she had to battle weight their whole life??? Then I would say you lose how ever and how much you want to lose...heck if your body is dropping 4-5 lbs a week instead of a month that is impressive....you do what YOU feel is right for you. After all sweetie it's your body!! Good luck and keep us posted. IM me anytime if you want to chat. Blessings

Welcome to LBT!! Good luck on your surgery tomorrow. I know all will be fine..you have some really strong will power there to stick to that pre-op diet... I hope when it comes to my time to be on that diet that I will have the strength that you have to not eat food and just stick to liquids. Let us know how you are feeling when you are home and up to it!! blessings
