I just wanted to update. I haven't been on here in a while. I've been trying not to get too excited so, I've avoided all PS message boards. Now that I am leaving in 10 days and having surgery in 13 I'm trying to learn as much as I can! I decided on Dr. Sauceda, mostly because of the quality of his work, the aftercare and just genuinely feeling comfortable. Not to mention he has quite a group of supportive people! Any suggestions about being in MX, or any other tips you guys might have is more than welcome!

Controversy over twilight sedation/multiple surgeries - your thoughts?
snacky replied to Bluesea71's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm right there with you! I live in Alaska and its no joke up here. I talked to Dr. Fisher last night and I'm waiting on my quote today. I would prefer to stay in the country, but reading Dr. Sauceda's reviews makes me lean towards him also! -

Could someone tell me how he does his pain management down there? I know that they aren't allowed to prescribe narcotics, so what do they end up giving you? I am afraid of being in a whole bunch of pain! Right now I am torn between Dr. Peter Fisher or Dr. Sauceda. I like the idea of staying in a recovery house for 12 days. -
Hi! I have my date for my abdominalplasty! Could I get some ideas on what I might need? Garments, creams, things you wish you had or knew? Anything will help! Thanks!

Plastic Surgery in Tijuana
snacky replied to WildGrits's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I haven't had surgery in Mexico..yet! I've done tons of research and narrowed it down to two. Dr. Cervantes and his wife Dr. Aragon. And then Dr. Laura Cardenas. -
They told me to wear the binder they are going to give me for a week and then compression garment for 3 weeks. Every surgeon is different. Some don't have you wear one at all!

Year out tummy tuck covered by bcbs

I am in the process of waiting for my insurance to cover mine. I will be going for the vertical. I will take some curves over a scar any day! Did you already try, and then appeal? I would appeal until I can appeal no more! -
Plastics in Mexico - questions for those who have gone
snacky replied to Bluesea71's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I appreciate everyone's replies to this! I have been doing so much research and been so obsessed lately with finding the right surgeon. I have narrowed it down to three doctors. Ones prices are almost the same as here (Dr.sauceda) and I don't think its worth it to travel so far and pay the same amount of money! Does anyone have a hotel they rocmend staying at while there?
