My nerves are starting to kick in. My husband and I are leaving Thursday morning and arrive in Tijuana at 11:30am. Dr. Zavalza is my surgeon, I just pray everything goes smooth and I have no major complications.

Irrational worries about pre-op testing

My surgery is on Thursday with Dr. Zavalza in Tijuana. I have been thinking the same thing. That would be a total waste of time and money since we won't get our airfare refunded. Our flight is only 1.5 hours but we paid 700 for it. I can only imagine how expensive it is for those people who live further than us. -

Bariatric Advantage meal replacement shake

I just tried the orange cream flavor and it's sooooo good!! This is the 1st meal replacement shake that I actually enjoy. I just thought I'd share. -
My surgery is scheduled for next week. However, I hadn't realized that I haven't been on a plane in over 5-6 years and I don't know what the protocol is for overweight people. I currently weigh 238 and I'm 5'2. Those of you that had surgery in Mexico, did you need to purchase 2 seats? Thank you.

Dr. Ponce was one of the top 3 surgeons on my list. I ended up choosing Dr. Zavalza who is also in Tijuana. My surgery is next week on 7/2. I'm going through bariatricpal and they have taken care of everything. The person I've been in contact with is David. Also, there's a sub forum on here for titled "Mexico and self pay gastric sleeves." -

I agree with you. That's what I like about bariatric advantage it's the only shake I've tried that's thick. The orange cream tastes just like a orange julius to me. Yummy! -

It was really hard at first. It's gotten a bit easier. The hardest part is when I'm cooking for my family or family outings. At least we have just 1 more week to go. Good luck to you. Keep me updated.

Oh wow it looks like we'll be there around the same time. Are you going through bariatricpal? I can't believe I'm only a week away from getting sleeved. Dr. Zavalza has been wonderful, anytime I have a question or concern he immediately gets back to me. I'm confident we'll be in good hands. How's you pre-op diet going?

I'm getting sleeved on July 2nd. I have two kids ages 1 & 3. My question is how hard was it to care for your kids after surgery? Did you have any help, if so for how long? I'm a stay at home mom and my husband will only be taking a couple days off. Thanks.

Thank you all for responding. I made a list if the vitamins I need. I'm looking into getting the bariatric vitamins, I found them on Amazon.
