  1. I have to disagree with some posters who say "prove her wrong". You are never going to do that no matter what you do. She will always find something wrong with you. She has already decided that you (or anyone probably) are not fit for her son. Move on sounds easy, it is not. She is his mother. But do what you have to do for you, be polite, courteous and keep your distance as much as you can. I would not confide another thing to her. Keep your chin up and do what is best for YOU! You ARE what matters. Best of luck and success to you.

    Protein

    60 - 80 per day

    Water post-op

You might try Propel Water. It has sodium in it and is easier for our bodies to digest. Have you tried Gas X strips. They seemed to help also. Pushing through is a big deal at this point in your journey. You do not want to get dehydrated. Any form of liquid counts, Popsicle, jello, broth, etc. Just keep up the hard work. It will get better each day.
  4. My NUT says that 1500 cal a day at this point is way to much. 1000 should be your max. You might try it and see if it helps. Just remember that 3900 + calories a day is what got us to where we are. It will work for you if you just work it. Keep up the good work.
  5. I am with you. The scale has not moved in 2 weeks. I am so frustrated. Feeling very discouraged. I am drinking all of my fluid, getting in all of my protein, very low carb. Exercising, walking 2 miles a day and water aerobics twice a week. It does not feel good to put food in so I don't eat that much. I feel like the lbs should be dropping off.
  6. When you are below 200.
  7. Maybe drinking this week is fine, but in reality is that really the best choice for successful, long term weight loss? Alcohol is just empty carbs and calories. I totally understand that you have to do what you want to do. I just know that I want the sleeve to work the best it can for me. And that means making good food choices now and forever. Limiting fats and carbs for the rest of my life. Not just during the honeymoon period.
  8. I am 4 week today. There is no way I could eat 1 chicken finger, 2.5 tbsp of cottage cheese and some crushed pineapple. I might be able to get in the chicken finger if it was small. I still can not finish 1 boiled egg
  9. VGSmommy, good for you. Sounds like you have hit the "dreaded 3 week stall". I did last week. It sure was discouraging. Keep up the hard work.
  10. Nana@52, I feel for you. I am so glad that my surgeon and nut have me progressing. It has been nice to chew. I start soft tomorrow, but I really think that I am already there. I just could not do pureed for another day about 3 days ago. I am just chewing really well.

    TMI! Question

I find that sugar alcohols keep me regular. I purchase sugar free Russell Stovers Peppermint patties and eat one an evening. 60cals and less than one net carb. I feel like I am getting a special treat.

    Waist training

Sounds like you knew the answer before you ask. Sorry you are not getting the answers that you want. But you did ask. Maybe your surgeon would be your best source of advice on this.

    Waist training

I would think from a health stand point it would be a really bad idea. My Dr said that your sleeve is not completely heeled for two - three months.

    First birthday without cake

Something new to wear and show off the new you would be so much better than cake. The cake would just end up in the toilet (HAHA)
  15. Had my surgery May 26, Started pureed yesterday, Hate It!. I would just rather not eat. I do not like the feel, texture, taste of mushy food. I am really having a hard time. I would much rather stay on Protein shakes, and greek yogurt than put mushy in my mouth, then not being able to wash it down is even worse. Ok, I have had my whine, on with the plan. I know it will get better. I thought that getting water in was tough. Seems that each stage has its ups and downs.

    Anyone else aggravated?

I worked really hard to come up with the money to pay for surgery (All self pay). I am working really hard to make this work for me. I try to ignore those that want to cheat, sabatoge, etc. They are only cheating and sabatoging themselves. Just ignore it and move on to those who are making the lifetime changes they need to make.

    Stomach pain

Are you taking pepcid, zantac, or one of those to help with stomach acid? Maybe you should try one. I take one in the morning and one at night. I also have Gas X strips that I take if I get real crampy or rumbling.
  18. Try Gas X strips. Really helps get the water down.
  19. Chewing just sounds so wonderful. I can hardly wait, 3 more days.
  20. Anytype of baked fish would be a really good choice.
  21. I had surgery on Tuesday so I am on day 3 post op. I am struggling to get anything in. Everything is to sweet, to grainy, just down right yucky. I feel so much better when I don't try to take anything in. When I drink, or try to put anything in, my stomach just revolts. Growing, gurgling, and just plain doing flips. I have tried different temps, small sips. I sure do not want to get dehydrated. I am at a loss.

    Whooshing sound

Can be a sign of dehydration.

    Water

I am 4 days post op. I was told no Caffine, it is irritating to the new stomach, and is a diuretic. I was told no decaf either. Try some propel water or gatoraid, they both have sodium in them and are easier to get down. Our bodies have to add sodium to plain water to help digest it. Plain water is like a kick in the stomach to me. Good luck, most anything you can get in is a plus. Sugar free popcicles, sugar free jello, broth, less than 100 cal yogart.
  24. Yes I am taking ppi. Just does not seem to be helping. Praying for a better day tomorrow

My nut said that flinstones does not give us enough of what we need. Bariatric advantage makes a quick desolve. I am taking those with out problems
