Hi, I'm Kelli.  I've dreamed all my life to be just "normal".  I've lived my life invisible since the time I was a toddler.  If you ask my mom, I was the perfect child.  Quiet, respectful, good grades, why is that?  I think mostly to do with my weight.  I didn't want to be noticed, ever.  The elephant in the room, I felt like that was always me.  An overachiever... that's me.  Always trying to compensate for being the fat one.  Overly nice, getting better grades, going for the better job, always trying to look prettier, (because fat girls gotta try harder), never getting close to anyone so I can't get hurt.  
 
Today's Kelli is the one that finally got her big break.  I've wanted weight loss surgery for years, but was never in the right position to do it.  I've always supported everyone, and as everyone knows, good insurance is hard to find.  I moved 2000 miles away from home to North Dakota and am finally making my dreams come true.  I had GB on 5/5/2015.  I now consider it EXTREME, however, I have been so happy I have done it.  It is hard and not the easy way out.  You gotta be brave, strong and positive.  I have lost and gained the same 30 pounds for 3 years.  I am what you call a healthy fat eater, love my veggies, but can't control myself when I start eating starches and carbs.  Until now.
 
Being only a month out, I am still trying to figure my new stomach out.  Each day gets easier. I try to live for today and not focus on what's behind, but I do set a lot of goals for myself.  Something interesting about me, I haven't told anyone that I had surgery except my work friends.  NO ONE knows.  I am flying home over Labor Day.  Think anyone will notice?
