    Gastric sleeve and birth control

I did depo years ago and it quickly put lots of weight on me. I don't recommend it. I have mirena & love it. I am going in this Thursday to have mine replaced actually because the one I have in now has been in for almost 5 years. Highly recommend mirena.

    Working out?

No meaning it will build muscle & the pounds will not come down because muscle is heavier & also because when you workout heavy you need to eat more to support it. We are not eating enough calories to truly workout heavy HEAVY .... So that's what he meant. It would hinder the process. If you excessively exercise thinking you are helping the process you can be damaging your process. Your body needs the extra calories for extra rigorous exercises. ????

    IBS pre and post op

I have IBS... I went daily before surgery. Would get stomach aches & cramping, bloating the whole nine yards. Now since surgery I was constipated after surgery, had to take miralax to get myself to start going again!!!! If I don't take it for a few days I get constipated immediately! So my Doc said take miralax once a day every day or every other day to keep it normal. Its just crazy the difference! I do not have bloating.... I have had a few occasional cramps...but never lasted all day like before surgery. I feel so much better since surgery.

    Bisquick?!?!

Bisquick!!!???!!!?? I was on Bariatric Eating website looking up recipes trying to find a good recipe to make for myself and my family for dinner tonight. I am 8 weeks post op. I see a recipe for cheeseburger pie.... Looked yummy. I read the recipe and it says to add in 1/2 cup of BISQUICK!!!!!!??????!!!!! WHAT??????!!!!!!! I don't know about anyone else but carbs to me at this point are so taboo it is not even funny. ???? ughhhhh I know a 1/2 cup for the whole recipe I guess over all is not a lot, but even still the thought of adding it into the food is gut wrenching. I am trying so hard to LOSE.. does anyone else have these thoughts and issues? I just broke a 4 week stall..... Yes 4 WEEK! UGHH and I lost 4 BIG WHOPPING pounds after it broke.... And now holding AGAIN ????.... Last thing I want to do is eat carbs lol..... So is this normal to fear carbs? And is it normal to see carbs on a Bariatric website for recipes? I really want to be successful and don't want to ever regain, after I finally lose it all. Thank you in advance guys ???????? I will show you the recipe

    Anyone from Minnesota

    Awesome!! Good luck girl!!!
  14. I have OCD & anxiety & I have a HUGE fear of throw up.... I made it EXTREMELY CLEAR to my Doc & Anesthesiologist that I had these issues & DID NOT WANT TO THROW UP AT ALL... When I woke up or at home. I heard a lot of people say for the first month they are nauseous!!! Ohhh hell no!!!! I would not be able to handle that! So I made it very clear that it was a MAJOR MAJOR FEAR .... They were awesome!! They gave me the scopalmine patch behind my ear for surgery & loaded me up on zofran also & then they gave me some third anti nausea med also before surgery also....so I had 3 meds working on me when I work up from surgery. Not once was I sick or nauseaus!! Then they also loaded me up to go home with the zofran & the scopalmine patch also! I took it for the first few weeks lol I wanted to stay ahead of it so I didn't get behind & think I felt fine & then I feel sick or get sick! So I was totally fine!!!! Wooooo hooooo!!!! You can do this!!!!!!! Just make it VERY VERY clear that it is a HUGE FEAR of yours.... Not that you don't want to.... That it is a fear. Good luck girl. Let me know how it goes! ????????

    Anyone from Minnesota

Bacon-n-limes I was sleeved at the U OF M by Dr. Leslie on July 21st this year.... Best decision I ever made & top care & he & his team are unbelievable!!!! I could never have enough good things to say about the U OF M & my care by Dr Leslie & the hospital.... Everything was top notch, they were so helpful, he is the mist kind & patient man with answering questions. They call you back quickly from voicemails.... He FIXED my hiatial hurnia that my GASTRO said I didn't have!!! I have had heartburn for over 10 years! I am heartburn free now! They were so on top of knowing everything about me from top to bottom & inside and out before I went into surgery so there was no room for error. The hospital staff was amazing also!! I was deciding between either Mayo of U OF M because if I had this surgery I was only going to go to the best in all of Minnesota.... Both are the top two for the surgery. Mayo is first but I live north of Plymouth so I didn't want to drive 2 hrs to mayo lol. U OF M was much closer and I knew their care was impeccable as well. I wish you all the best!! Let me know if you go with U OF M!! ????????????????
  17. Cynthia I am excited to see how weights do as well..... I am just starting to incorporate them too!! ???????? so exciting for us!!
  18. this week coming up is now week 5 and I am currently 226 and I have been now for 2 weeks! STALL since surgery I was losing a pound a day nice and steadily. since surgery on July 21st I have lost 26 lbs. I am not over exercising, I am not dehydrated, no I don't hit 64 oz daily but I do get up to 40 oz or more because I LOVE water and even before surgery I always have. So I try to drink it all day as it is. My cals are not over 400, I absolutely do not cheat and I don't ever plan to. I had this surgery to lose and be healthy so I am not one to pop a Hershey kiss here and there lol 5 weeks out after surgery. I know everyone says lose the scale but I am not dropping pants sizes fast so to measure by how clothes feel on a weekly basis in the middle of a stall is hard to keep myself mentally positive. Do you know what I mean? It's such a mental game! UGHH I know I am not eating too much, yet when I am not losing I think I am eating too much then. I know I am no where near 3200 cals so clearly I am not. But it the mental game part. How long can the first stall last? I am going crazy. Has anyone's surgery ever not worked for them?
  19. I was sleeved July 21, lost 30 lbs so far ...... However I just got off a 4 week stall ... Yes 4 week!!! I was going NUTS!! I finally broke the stall & lost 4 lbs over a few days. Now I am holding at the new lower weight for the past 2 days. Uuuggghhhh .... Have not & will not cheat, protein is at 70-80 g a day per NUT. . Water is good. Just so so frustrating.
  20. CynthiaAnn thank you so much!! The sleeve made it possible! I just had a 4 week stall which drove me NUTS! now I lost 4 more bringing me to the 222 .... & now been at 222 for a few days ughh patience is not my best virtue lol .... I wish you the best success as well!!!! ????????????????????
  21. I am 2 months post op. This before is from May this year!! The recent is just from Labor Day!!! My surgery was on July 21st. Crazy! I could not see the difference until I saw the pics side by side! I need to do a full body pic. I still feel huge. I have a ways to go yet.... Still 222 lbs. but this is progress ????????
  22. WOW!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!! You look AWESOME!!! I am 2 months out & soooo impatient!!! Lol I can't wait to get to where you are!!!! Stunning progress!!!
