    October surgeries?

I am Oct. In Fair Oaks too... That's cool SleevenChica! Who's your surgeon? When is your surgery? I teach first! So I know sitting will be hard! I do a lot of small groups so hope that helps! Yeah it makes it a lot easier.
  2. Hey I noticed you had your surgery on Monday. How are you feeling? How's your recovery been? What's it like since you've been home? I hope all is well with you.

    I am So Excited! :)

Thank you everyone. I can't believe the date is getting closer! It's surreal to me. Me.....on the loser's bench. I never thought I see the day. So many new starts on a Monday with dieting. 10/12 is on Monday, but it's a brand new and totally different start. As much as I want to be healthy and still can't wait to cross my legs, buy clothes off the rack and not try them on if I don't want to, I can go into a regular store and not a plus size store. I thought even my wedding dress doesn't have to be plus size. I've been overweight for almost 20 years. An entirely different life. I'm ready and excited for this journey.

    October surgeries?

Thinner me, it's hard to sit. Having small groups makes somewhat easier for sitting.

    October surgeries?

I wanted to know if any of you have started with some our basic eating practices? * no drinking 15 minutes before you eat * no drinking while you're eating * no drinking until 30 mins after you eat *chewing slowly *taking smaller bites (chick pea size bites) I ask because my NUT suggested that's what I start to make good practice because we'll have to do so after our surgery. However I'm struggling with smaller ller bites and chewing slowly. Do you have any suggestions? I've mastered the no drinking rules, but haven't gotten the others mastered.

    October surgeries?

Ok ladies I need a lil advice, please respond if you can. So I'm a special ed teacher. Our school starts 9/8/15. I've already started back to work. My RNY is scheduled Oct 12th. My last appointment is 9/30/15. The delimema is my daughter goes to school with me. It's easier because we ride to and from school together. No need for childcare. I've decided to take the first week off and do half days on the 2nd week. My NUT says that's absolutely doable. The delimema is having someone drop off my daughter too and from school for the first week. I'm praying that my mother will stay with her during my 2 night stay in the hospital. My fiance will be staying me. However, I told him he can go to work Tuesday and Wednesday. Prayerfully I can be discharged on Wednesday. My fiance can leave work to pick me up. Other issue I have not told my mother about this surgery. She will not approve, she's EXTREMELY judgemental, and I'm not so sure she'll be supportive and help me with my daughter. They have a close relationship. She might, but in spite of my decision for this surgery she may not help me. I'm not used to getting help with taking of my daughter. The other problem, I have no leave. All the time I'll be off will be LWOP. My fiancé also works PT in the evening. So he would not be home to care for my daughter and myself. I would need my mother's help. My fiance can't take off for his PT, he will be starting his new position mid to late September. He's a little more flexible with his day job. He can work from home during the day once I've been discharged, which is why I thought he could work during some of my stay in the hospital. He's been extremely supportive through the entire process. He attended the seminar, viewed the webinar, and attended all my appts in this process. I'm wondering if I should attempt to see if I should postpone my surgery until Dec. I have 2 weeks off for winter break. If so, I won't need anyone to help with pick up and drop off with my daughter. I won't use any leave that I will have accrued by then. I won't have to worry about LWOP. I'll have a full 2 weeks to recover. I just don't want to wait. I'm excited to have this procedure. I can start to finally shed this insulation suit. I want to start this. I always put myself on the back burner. I don't want to be selfish, but I feel like I'm being selfish if I don't attempt to postpone til mid Dec. With me being in the hospital and needing some recovery time, I'd need help from a couple of people. I'm not used to that. Do I push forward and think about me, have the RNY in Oct? Consider everything else and see if it can be postponed to Dec? I apologize for the very long post, I didn't know how to shorten it.

    Protein shake

I like the Organic Valley Organic Fuel. I have several food allergies, so this brand seems to work best for me. I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't want to love and then experience the different tastes buds after the surgery. Back to the Protein shakes....Sorry! They're 26g of protein, they have chocolate and vanilla bean. They're lactose free and gluten free. They're not made from whey Proteins, but from milk proteins. So far I've tried adding the orange vanilla Mio flavor into the vanilla bean, it is sooooo delicious. It tastes like a Creamsicle. I've read others adding the flavored sugar free syrups to give extra flavors.

It's really good. I loved the banana cream flavor.
  21. You look simply amazing! Absolutely beautiful. Wouldn't not have even noticed your arms. I'm not sure if you posted somewhere else, but can you please provide your stats, when was your surgery please?Start weight on my first doctor appt was 225 lbs, Day of surgery 213lbs, today 143lbs surgery was March 16 2015. That was really fast! I agree you just need a lil time. I can only wish I can look that good in the same time period as you. You must so proud of yourself. ????

    October surgeries?

Congratulations to you as well! It's an exciting time for us. Not sure about you, but being told not to gain , I instantly went into trying to eat better so I wouldn't gain. Is it difficult for you to not lose or gain?

    October surgeries?

All will go just fine. My final appt is Sept 30th. Shockingly, I have sleep apnea as well. Yeah I'm ready too. So far I've mastered not drinking before, during after eating, but I'm still struggling with taking very small bites and chewing my food well. I need to work harder with that. Good luck with your approval! ????
