    June Sleevers!

Sleeved Jume 30th. HW 200, SW 200, CW 160. Starting with a low BMI (33), I thought it would take 6 months to lose 40 pounds, I did it in three and I'm thrilled. I've been walking, jogging, then running since two weeks out and that has made a huge difference. I had shoulder surgery and haven't been running for a few weeks, so now I'm in my first stall. I'm ok with it because I think it's getting my body s chance to gear up for the last 30 pounds. I plan to be downright skinny and buff when I'm done!

    Working out?

Diet is 90% how you get weight off. Exercise is how you get healthy, look toned and helps keep weight off. It's best to do it while we are losing so it helps us keep it off! It also helps reduce jiggling!

    Noises from stomach? LOUD?

I use Gas-X because mine is do obnoxious. Works great.
  4. Are you sure he did the surgery you were expecting? Maybe he forgot which one he was suppose to do and did the bypass! What a douche.
  5. You'll be drinking calories containing no protein. You must concentrate on protein. If you do it at the start, it'll be harder to give up later, especially when FIBER is the next best thing after protein and water.

    BMI 31-32

Just hit 3 months post op. SW 200 and BMI 33.3. CW 160 and BMI 25.5! 25 pounds to go! I can eat almost every thing now, but I will get ones about once s week from eating too much or too fast. Keeping away from pasta, breads and rice; but I've eaten a cookie now and again.

    Alcohol

Clear rum? I was told the opposite because isn't it made from sugar cane? I guess I'll Google that!
  9. I did for sure and it was caused by the protein shakes! When I ate soups that I added unflavored injury powder, though, I was fine. I've come to discover if it's meal replacement protein shakes vs. protein only shakes I'm ok. It's the added vitamins that made me nauseous. I have to be really selective with the vitamins I take too. Some make me throw up within minutes of taking them.

    Oct 7th! Nervous

Buy very little ahead of time. Buy samples or singles of protein powders because you never know what you'll end up liking or actually even need.

Calcium- what does it mean for us?

I just went to a seminar on calcium and WLS. I don't know what you read, but the studies presented stated significant bone density is lost by bariatric patients post surgery because only 5% continue to take supplements after the first year. I also learned that although we need 1500 mgs a day, our bodies can only absorb 500 at one time, so it should be taken three times a day rather than at one time. Absorption is also affected by PPIs and iron, so we have to be careful of what we take it with. I'm erring on the side of caution and keeping calcium in my life forever.

    Bariatric Vitamins

Wellesse Liquid Vitamins. I get them from my surgeon's office for 7.99 a bottle (which is enough for 16 days). Walgreens has them for $7.49. I tried Bariatric Advantage chewable multi, but they literally made me throw up. Stick with bariatric vitamins is what I hear repeatedly. Also, I went to a presentation regarding calcium and WLS, I will never stop that supplement!

    FB group?

All Things Bariatric. We are at different stages, but it's an awesome group.
  19. P3 by Oscar Mayer for your purse. Order soups at restaurants and add unflavored Unjury powder you pre measure into little plastic one ounce sauce containers (restaurant supply stores like Smart and Final carry them). If you have Lindora Clinics or Medical Weight Loss Centers they carry powdered lemonade that has 12 grams of protein. Don't pay any mind to what other people think about what you order, our lives no longer revolve around food!

    Working out?

I also use an app called Spring. It plays music (you can pick the genres and artists) and you tell it whether you're walking or running and it'll play songs at the exact beats per minute for your pace. It's awesome and FREE. My gym has free wifi so I don't use data either!

    Working out?

I've never been a runner. Never! At week two I started doing three 5k walks a week. By week four I was running/walking on the tread mill. Now at week 13, I am running three times a week with no walking. Each time I get on I try to shave off a few seconds. I've never been so happy or proud about myself. I actually look forward to running because I'm friggin doing it! I do some core work with planks and a few weight machines. My legs are slim and shapely all due to the running. It's amazing how these changes are encouraging me to hit the gym!
